The Grammys Are Coming, Time to Party!

Last night, the pre-Grammy Award festivities kicked off with a party at new hotspot Goa hosted by Fuse TV and Pete Wentz. Ashlee was on his arm, of course, fresh off her mini club tour and still sticking with her red hair. Paris Hilton came to the party by herself, but she left on the arm of former (and it looks like current again) flame Simon Rex. Now there's a blast from the past. Other party guests included folks who probably won't make it to this weekend's big award show - a very, very tan Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Taye Diggs - as well as a few who we should expect to see getting red-carpet ready: Adam Levine . . . and Mark Ronson? I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the Grammys bring our way this Sunday.

Robert, the Twilighters, and Britney Make a Fun Teen Choice

The Teen Choice Awards were filmed in Universal City last night, but you'll have to wait until this evening to see them on the air. If you want all the spoilers, check out the full winner list here. The show was full of fun moments and, of course, lots of artful cutaways to check in on the Twilight kids. The Jonas Brothers looked like they were having a blast hosting the big night, which began and ended with their performances. They also participated in a series of fan-chosen dares throughout the night - including Nick hugging fans and Joe getting a faux-haircut. Britney's big moment came after a sweet introduction from Miley Cyrus, but Brit didn't hang out on stage long. Her standard short thank-you-to-the-fans speech was enough, but she looked fantastic in her minidress. Speaking of showing some skin, Miley's performance of her new single involved some tiny shorts and risque moves with a pole.

The Twilight cast were skillfully moved around during the show, but ended up sitting together before they received a slew of awards. There were too many to do one by one, so the whole group went up together to accept the batch. Taylor took the lead, but Robert wasn't going to get away without talking. He joked that he was asked to stretch out the show so he rambled a bit, seeming a little more loosened up than when he took the stage with Megan Fox earlier. Other highlights included Zac Efron's effusive speech, the Black Eyed Peas', Cameron Diaz, and Ellen DeGeneres winning for her Twitter. John Mayer Takes Politics by Storm

John Mayer had a gadget in hand at last night's BlackBerry Storm launch party in LA. While he loves to show off his newest toys, he also recently blogged for the Huffington Post about politics. John wrote passionately about Sept. 11, how it affected his generation, and why he supports Barack Obama. Here's an excerpt:

"I believe the definition of the 'hope' that Barack Obama enthuses operates on the unspoken thesis that there has to be a polar opposite to the despair of 9/11. Because if we accept that there's not, the will to live becomes forever altered. To adults who will vote for him, Barack Obama represents a return to prosperity. To the youth, he represents an introduction to it."

While John was out celebrating the hottest new BlackBerry, Barack Obama had a big night on television. There are just a few days until the election, so maybe we'll see the singer heading to the polls with also politically active Jennifer Aniston.

Stars Come Celebrate Seacrest for Details

Ryan Seacrest is a serious cover boy for the April issue of Details, but his big smile made up for it at the magazine's Mavericks 2008 party in LA last night. Small-screen stars Rainn Wilson and Kristin Cavallari came out for the event, and Lindsay Price got to celebrate the end of Lipstick Jungle for now. With all the drama, beauty and fun geekiness on last night's finale we can't wait for it to come back. Paula wasn't in the house, but Randy Jackson and Simon came out for their boy Ryan. Never one to pass up an opportunity to make a joke at Ryan's expense, Simon said, “Yeah, he looks good. A lot of airbrushing.” Sounds like someone might be a little jealous.

Musicians Make Merry After the Grammys

It may have been a looong Grammy Awards, but it was only more reason to keep the party going after the show ended. The stars got to mix and mingle with their fellow musicians at the Sony BMG Party, making for some predictable (and a few unlikely) pairings. Nicole and Joel were looking a little worn out, while Beyonce was practically glowing in yellow next to John Mayer, making her fourth outfit change of the night. Which B outfit was your favorite? Also, is it just us, or did John look a little too pretty-boy last night? Carrie Underwood naturally gravitated toward country star Brad Paisley, while Jay-Z looked absolutely thrilled to be posing with Chris Daughtry. We just wish we could eavesdrop on a few of their conversations, although something tell us that Amy Winehouse's performance was a hot topic across the board.
