Kate and Ryder Are on Cloud Nine After the Circus

Kate Hudson brought Ryder out in Santa Monica last night to take in a performance from Cirque du Soleil. Despite Kate's hectic schedule promoting Nine, she's had lots of time to spend with her son during their trip to California. Alex Rodriguez, though, was the guy by Kate's side on Sunday at the American Music Awards. The duo was joined by Fergie and Nicole Kidman, two of Kate's costars in the film. Kate's silver dress attracted a fair share of attention at the awards, but it's her glitzy jewels stealing the show in Nine.

Kate Heads to the Salon Before Getting Dressed to the Nines

Kate Hudson made a low-key trip the hair salon yesterday after a busy weekend of honoring heroes and attending award shows. Kate looked relaxed in her casual sportswear after her dress got a lot of attention at the American Music Awards on Sunday. Kate seemed to have a little trouble staying covered by her Versace number -styled by Rachel Zoe- as she and Nicole Kidman introduced their Nine costar Fergie and The Black Eyed Peas. Unfazed by the possible slip Kate headed backstage where she cozied up to an awaiting A-Rod before he was off to join the fun at the Lakers game.

Kate, Nicole and Eva Share the Spotlight With CNN's Heroes

Anderson Cooper was the man of the evening on Saturday as he hosted the annual CNN Heroes Awards. The ceremony honored ten individuals who go above and beyond with their contribution to the world, and each was introduced to the crowd by a celebrity guest. Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, and Eva Mendes were a few of the ladies on hand to do the honors, while Carrie Underwood performed. The evening's biggest award, CNN's Hero of the Year, went to Efren Peñaflorida because of his efforts to bring education to underprivileged children in the Philippines. Kate and Nicole took the evening off from promoting Nine, though they were both out again last night for the American Music Awards. The ladies were joined by other actors like Neil Patrick Harris and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and we'll be able to see the whole show when it airs Thanksgiving evening.

Stars Sparkle, Burn and Sing at the American Music Awards

The stars of last night's American Music Awards hit the red carpet before heading inside LA's Nokia Theatre for the main event. Janet Jackson kicked things off with an energetic eight minute performance, and the evening's first award then went to the Black Eyed Peas. The Black Eyed Peas went on to take the stage to do "Boom Boom Pow" with a special Nirvana twist. The show went on with performances from Carrie Underwood and Shakira, as well as from Jay-Z and Alicia Keys with "Empire State of Mind." Unfortunately not everyone stayed on their feet - both Jennifer Lopez and Adam Lambert took tumbles while singing.

There were other memorable performances, from Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and not to mention Whitney Houston's return to the stage before she received the International Award of Excellence. Jennifer Lopez had a beaming Marc Anthony in the crowd as she debuted her new single and showed off those customized Louboutins. Michael Jackson won multiple awards, and his brother Jermaine took the stage to accept the award on behalf of their family. Taylor Swift took home the most statues, though she wasn't there and the upset of the night might have to go to Gloriana who won breakthrough artist - make sure to check out the full list of winners. Kate Hudson joined her Nine costars Fergie and Nicole Kidman, though Kate did have a chance to share a special moment with Alex Rodriguez. Kate Hudson and Ryder brought some friends along for lunch in Brentwood today. The actress arrived back home in LA after a trip to NYC to do promotion for Nine as well as a stop by Oprah to chat about the star-studded movie. Kate revealed that her 6-year-old son had a bit of a thing for beautiful Penelope Cruz, and though he may be too young to watch mom and all her female costars up on the big screen, he can still enjoy Kate's singing during the bedtime bonding she loves so much.

The many stars of Nine reunited in NYC today as they gear up to launch a press blitz before their film hits theaters on Dec. 18. Penelope Cruz and Marion Cotillard were spotted heading out of their hotel solo, just a few days after posing together at the weekend premiere of The Private Lives of Pippa Lee. Nicole Kidman traveled to the Big Apple after a recent trip with Keith to Nashville, the place she says they love raising daughter Sunday. Fergie, meanwhile, was fresh off her appearance on Saturday Night Live with the Black Eyed Peas and a date night with her husband Josh, though he's already out on Long Island working on The Romantics with Katie Holmes. Kate Hudson also stepped out into the sunshine this afternoon, as she gets ready to switch gears from supportive girlfriend to leading lady.

Kate Hudson had her dad Kurt Russell by her side last night as they watched Alex Rodriguez and the Yankees take home the World Series title after beating the Phillies in game six. A-Rod joined teammates like Mark Teixiera, A.J. Burnett, and CC Sabathia for a fun-filled afterparty at 1Oak, which also brought out Derek Jeter and his girlfriend Minka Kelly. Kate has been in the stands for practically all of A-Rod's games since their romance began, and it looks like his lucky charm really came through in the end.

The Yankees won two on the road, but it wasn't enough so he and his team will be back on their home field tonight. She did have a chance to sit down for an interview with Elle UK, in which she opened up about boys, Botox, and even rumors of her engagement to Alex.
