Keira Knightley and James Righton are engaged! Keira's publicist shared the exciting news today, saying, "I can confirm that Keira is engaged to be married to James Righton." The couple have been dating for over a year, though they've kept their relationship pretty quiet and have yet to step out on a red carpet together. This time last year, though, Keira and James were arm in arm for a walk around sunny Venice, CA. Congrats to Keira and James!

Keira Knightley linked arms with boyfriend James Righton for an evening out in London yesterday. Following dinner at La Bodega Negra, they stopped at London's outpost of The Box, where, along with Downton Abbey's Dan Stephens, they saw a show from pianist Jean-Philippe Rio-Py.

Keira's Interview cover and feature just came out, and in the publication she opened up about her forthcoming film, Seeking a Friend at the End of the World. She stars in the end-of-the-world comedy opposite Steve Carell. She said of the project, "Well, Steve is absolutely wonderful. I loved his work on Little Miss Sunshine. He has this amazing ability to be incredibly funny but have that pathos at the same time - sort of that crying-clown thing. The movie itself has comic moments, but it's about the end of the world, so obviously it has an apocalyptic feel to it that's not that comic, because everybody dies . . . Other than that, though, it's hilarious!"

Keira Knightley Gets Moody to Talk Spanking and Her "Russian Moment" in Interview

Keira Knightley looks edgy and glamorous on the cover of Interview magazine's April issue. The moody spread was shot by fashion photographers Marcus Piggott and Mert Alas, and features Keira in dark, sophisticated clothes from Louis Vuitton, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Balenciaga. For the accompanying interview, the actress spoke to her A Dangerous Method director David Cronenberg at her home in London, where she was fresh from wrapping Anna Karenina. Keira talked about portraying real people in films, faking a Russian accent, and how spanking is "really huge in England." Here's more from Keira Knightley in Interview:

On playing two Russian women in a row: "I'm not quite sure what that's about. I seem to be having a Russian moment. I've never even been to Russia. I didn't [do a Russian accent]."
On portraying a real person vs. a fictional one: "There's always the moral question when you're playing real people. Is it like dancing over somebody's grave? What's nice about playing somebody real is that generally there's more information about them, so a lot of the questions that you'd otherwise have to make up the answers to are already there."
On the English fascination with spanking: "I know with A Dangerous Method people liked the spanking an awful lot. [laughs] It's weird, though, with the spanking. In England, it was pretty much the only thing I got asked about. I'm not quite sure what that says about the English. . . [spanking is] really huge in England."

Seeking a Friend For the End of the World Trailer: Steve Carell Finds Keira Knightley

In Seeking a Friend For the End of the World, Steve Carell plays Dodge, a man facing the reality that an asteroid is about the destroy the earth and he, along with everyone else, has to figure out what to do with the last three weeks of his life. For people like Patton Oswalt's character, it's sleeping with as man people as possible, but for regretful Dodge, it's love. When he meets his pixie-ish neighbor, played by Keira Knightley, she takes it upon herself to help Dodge find the girl that got away, if he helps her see her family before the world ends.

The trailer is very funny, considering its bleak subject matter (I giggled at Melanie Lynskey's character wearing all the clothes she never had a chance to wear), and Carell is the perfect leading man for the dark comedy. I'm especially curious to see what his chemistry with Knightley is like, and even though the title and what we see in the trailer implies it's just a friendship, it seems like something romantic must come up - the world is ending, after all. Michael Fassbender Gets Wild at His Dangerous Method Afterparty

Michael Fassbender was in a joking mood last night following his London premiere of A Dangerous Method! Inside 34 restaurant, he danced around with a Burberry Prorsum-clad Keira Knightley and their costar Viggo, as well as some other lucky attendees! Michael then sat at a piano to serenade the group that also included Keira's mom Sharman Macdonald. He got a piggyback ride from a friend out to his car, then proceeded to mock-fight with a group of photographers. Keira made a more low-key exit with her Klaxons musician boyfriend James Righton. It was an evening of fun during what's shaping up to be another busy year for Michael. It was recently confirmed that he'll work on another X-Men movie with director Matthew Vaughn.

Michael Fassbender Suits Up For a Dangerous Premiere With Keira Knightley

Michael Fassbender reunited with his A Dangerous Method costars Keira Knightley, in Burberry Prorsum, and Viggo Mortensen this evening for a London premiere. The film came out in the US last Fall but is only just hitting theaters in Keira's home country. To promote the release, Keira's on the cover of GQ UK. An interview in which she discusses making the sex-themed David Cronenberg picture accompanies an equally racy photo spread. Speaking about her relationship with Klaxons musician James Righton and a recent reimmersion in work, Keira said she's in a great place. She commented, "I'm actually loving this bit right now - doing the work I'm doing, having the life I can have around it. Right now, it's really good."

We recently caught up with Keira to find out what she thought about working with Michael. Many thought Michael was overlooked when he didn't snag an Oscar nomination for his role in Shame, and Keira likely agrees. She told us of Michael's performance in Shame, "I think he's amazing . . . He's a phenomenal actor, and I think his performance in Shame is amazing. Talk about brave. I think it's wonderful."

Emma, Keira, and Michael Step Out For a Star-Studded National Board of Review Gala

George Clooney attended the National Board of Review Awards gala with girlfriend Stacy Keibler last night at NYC's Cipriani 42nd Street. Many other stars went out for the Big Apple event as well, include a Nina Ricci-wearing Keira Knightley and Emma Stone in J. Mendel.

George was on hand to pick up a best actor statue for The Descendants, and his leading lady, a L'Wren Scott-clad Shailene Woodley took home best supporting actress. We Need to Talk About Kevin's Tilda Swinton wore Haider Ackermann to accept best actress, and Emma Stone joined costars Octavia Spencer, Jessica Chastain, and Viola Davis onstage to collect their best ensemble film statue for The Help. Hugo, meanwhile, was crowned best movie. Michael Fassbender, who looked great in his suit, won a special spotlight award for the many films he starred in last year.

Keira Knightley Compares and Contrasts Costars Jude Law and Michael Fassbender

Keira Knightley stars as patient-turned-psychiatrist Sabina Spielrein in David Cronenberg's A Dangerous Method, which expands into theaters across the country this week. The film came out in limited release last Fall, and quickly earned notoriety for the racy sex scenes Keira shares with her hot costar Michael Fassbender, who plays Carl Jung.

Yesterday, Keira spoke about working with both Michael and David. Keira shared excitement for the critical acclaim Michael's earned for another daring performance in Shame, a movie she liked quite a bit. She also spoke about her other upcoming projects, Seeking a Friend at the End of the World, the directorial debut from Lorene Scafaria featuring Steve Carell, and a remake of Anna Karenina. The later film sees Keira paired up with director Joe Wright for the third time, after Atonement and Pride & Prejudice, as well as leading man Jude Law. Keira said:

On having reservations about the spanking scenes in DM: "I was 95% going to say yes as soon as my agent said, 'Look, David Cronenberg is going to offer you a film.' . . . I did have reservations about the masochistic scenes. I actually spoke to him about it and said, 'I love the script, but I'm not sure I can do this because of these scenes. I'm not quite sure I want to go there.' And he said, 'If that stops you playing the part, that would be a tragedy so let's just take them out.' And I thought that was an amazing thing for him offer. We just talked and talked, and once he's made it clear he didn't want it to be voyeuristic and sexy, he wanted them to be kind of more clinical, I thought I might as well go for it."
On similarities between Jude and Michael: "No! No. Jude's a proper actor - he's wonderful to work with. He's a proper actor, I mean they all are . . . Michael works in a much more muscular way. Everything turns into muscle memory. He works a script, and works a script. Jude does a lot of theater so he comes from the preparation side - like a rehearsal room. He's really open to it, and he asks a lot of questions on that day. He's just phenomenal. So no there aren't any similarities, but they're all very good actors."
On first-time director Lorene: "She's just fab - she's great. She's completely the reason I think everybody signed up to do the movie. The script was wonderful. It was one of the best scripts I've ever read. The dialogue was brilliant, and the concept behind it was amazing. I haven't seen the finished article yet. I'm seeing it [today] so that's really exciting. She's an amazing woman, an amazing talent. On set, to think it was her first film - you'd never have guessed it. She was so cool, she knew exactly what she wanted, she was unbelievably fast, she was completely amazing. So hopefully it will work!"
On what she's excited to see succeed during award season: "I was really excited about Shame, because given the nature of it and the subject matter of it, quite often those ones get passed by. I think Meryl Streep in The Iron Lady. That performance was amazing. That was very good. I haven't seen The Artist yet, but I'm really looking forward to seeing that."
