Taylor, Brad and Kid All Hit the CMT Stage in Style

For the second year in a row, Taylor Swift was the darling of the CMT Awards in Nashville last night. She took home both Best Video of the Year and Best Female Video for "Love Story" whereas last year she won both awards for "Our Song." Even with all eyes on adorable Taylor, Brad Paisley once again walked away with a few statues. Kid Rock also won the Wide Open Country Video award for "All Summer Long" and in his acceptance speech said, "I was supposed to thank two people and I already forgot who it was. . . I think this award has something to do with creativity, and what's more creative than a stripper pole on a pontoon boat?" Check out the winners here and all the photos from the big night below.

Carrie and Brad Make the CMAs a Nashville Night to Remember

The red carpet was fun, but the real action happened on stage at last night's CMA Awards. Reese was out to present Brad Paisley the award for Male Vocalist of the Year while Nicole Kidman left Keith's side for a minute to give out a statue alongside her Australia costar Hugh Jackman. Keith didn't take home any statues but he did perform his new single to kick off the show alongside the hosts for the night, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley. Kid Rock brought a new edge to the show taking the stage with Lil' Wayne on the guitar. Shania Twain looked simply stunning. Carrie, who showed off many gorgeous gowns, scored Female Vocalist of the Year, but the night's big winner was Kenny Chesney once again - see the full list of winners here. The 42nd CMA Awards kept things fun, youthful and interesting out to perform and celebrate another year in country music together.

Jess Takes the CMA Festival Stage With Fellow Country Stars

Jessica Simpson stepped up to the mic along with some of country music's biggest names to help kick off the 2008 CMA Music Festival in Nashville last night. Of course, Jess is no stranger to the stage, but there have to be some big-time nerves showcasing her new material to an audience who already has lots of preconceived notions about her. Considering the warm reception you all gave "Come on Over," hopefully it all went over great. Either way, she did it with a big old smile on her face, as did fellow blonde performers like Kellie Pickler, Jewel, and Taylor Swift. Jess will be taking her show to The View on June 25, which is just the beginning of promotion for the new album. Looks like we better get used to Jessica Simpson: country darling.

Cowboy Hats and Blonde Ladies Lead the Way at the AACMA

Last night Kenny Chesney was declared the Entertainer of the Year for the fourth year in a row at the 43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Vegas. Garth Brooks was also back in the limelight to receive the first-ever Crystal Milestone Award for his outstanding achievements. Performer Keith Urban didn't need a trophy to make him gush. The father-to-be expressed his excitement showing off Nicole's growing baby bump on the red carpet. Top new female vocalist, Taylor Swift got real wet with a chilling performance of "Should've Said No" where she was singing and dancing while water poured down on her. Winner for best female vocalist Carrie Underwood not only looked gorgeous in her many outfits, but she also showed her chic geeky side playing with the hottest new toy she plays on her tour bus - I gotta get me one of those.

The Country Music Awards were last night and even some non-country folk like Bon Jovi came to support the show. The big winners of the night were Kenny Chesney, Dolly Parton, American Idol star Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban (who was MIA in rehab - hopefully on his way to recovery). Sugar Bits - Sienna & James: Just Friends

Sienna Miller and James Franco are just friends. The pictures that were floating around of the twosome are from scenes in a film the two are working together on in Canada. Apparently her and Jude are still very much together - at least this week. - People
Kellie Pickler has become the fourth American Idol contestant from season five to sign a record deal. She will record for Sony's country label BNA records. Hopefully they will give her a a new hair stylist since her recent cut doesn't match her cute personality at all - E! Online
Russell Crowe will coach his last-place Australian rugby team. He became part owner of the team early last month, and thinks his close connection with the team will be enjoyed by the team. Hope his temper doesn't slip if the team continues to lose. - AP
In a sick twist to the divorce of Christie Brinkley - it turns out her slimy husband was having an affair with a 19 year old. Now Diana Bianchi is speaking out how he came on to her. Sounds like Christie is better off without this guy anyway - TMZ

Country Shines Bright and Taylor Cleans Up at the CMAs!

Last night we gave you a taste of the CMA Awards, and now here's the whole set! For the younger women, it was all about the shine on the red carpet from Taylor Swift's typical beautiful sparkly gown to Carrie Underwood's mirrored number. Carrie was one of the hosts of the night along with Brad Paisley, so once she stepped inside it was all about the costume changes for her. Nicole Kidman had nothing but love for her husband Keith Urban, who was a nominee. Faith Hill and Tim McGraw always look classic together and this was no exception.

Taylor kicked off the show with a wild performance of "Forever and Always" where she threw around her long blond hair as she sang. There were no semi-subtle kisses for Taylor Lautner this time, but the two have a lot to celebrate next time they see each other - she won the biggest award of the night, Entertainer of the Year! She also won for female vocalist of the year, album of the year and music video of the year for "Love Story." Carrie Underwood walked away empty handed, but she and Brad Paisley did a great job hosting the show which included a few jokes at the expense of Kanye West. Kid Rock and Dave Matthews Band were also among the performers at the fun country-filled award show.

As expected, the two darlings of the genre Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift looked gorgeous on the red carpet and stage while their friend Kellie Pickler showed off her darker hair.
