Carrie and Brad Make the CMAs a Nashville Night to Remember

The red carpet was fun, but the real action happened on stage at last night's CMA Awards. Reese was out to present Brad Paisley the award for Male Vocalist of the Year while Nicole Kidman left Keith's side for a minute to give out a statue alongside her Australia costar Hugh Jackman. Keith didn't take home any statues but he did perform his new single to kick off the show alongside the hosts for the night, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley. Kid Rock brought a new edge to the show taking the stage with Lil' Wayne on the guitar. Shania Twain looked simply stunning. Carrie, who showed off many gorgeous gowns, scored Female Vocalist of the Year, but the night's big winner was Kenny Chesney once again - see the full list of winners here. The 42nd CMA Awards kept things fun, youthful and interesting out to perform and celebrate another year in country music together.

Cowboy Hats and Blonde Ladies Lead the Way at the AACMA

Last night Kenny Chesney was declared the Entertainer of the Year for the fourth year in a row at the 43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Vegas. Garth Brooks was also back in the limelight to receive the first-ever Crystal Milestone Award for his outstanding achievements. Performer Keith Urban didn't need a trophy to make him gush. The father-to-be expressed his excitement showing off Nicole's growing baby bump on the red carpet. Top new female vocalist, Taylor Swift got real wet with a chilling performance of "Should've Said No" where she was singing and dancing while water poured down on her. Winner for best female vocalist Carrie Underwood not only looked gorgeous in her many outfits, but she also showed her chic geeky side playing with the hottest new toy she plays on her tour bus - I gotta get me one of those.

Miley Cyrus has issued an apology after outtakes from a revealing Annie Leibovitz Vanity Fair photo shoot hit the Internet over the weekend. The magazine stands by the photos, saying her parents were both present during the shoot and approved of the photos. - lilsugar

Country Music Loves Its Little Ladies

Last night's Country Music Television Awards were more about glamor than sequins, but there was certainly still a lot of glitz and fun in the Nashville night. Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus hosted the evening which included a lot of costume changes for the starlet. Adorable little Taylor Swift took home Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year, while Kellie Pickler (really!? She didn't even show!) took home three statues, the most of the night. Taylor spent much of the night barefoot saying, "I walked by Faith Hill and I was like, 'This hurts so bad.' And she was like, 'Take them off,' Faith Hill told me to. So I did it." She's pretty precious and speaking of that, kinda love Carrie Underwood who closed out the show with "American Girl." Check out the full list of winners here.

Carrie and Kenny Shine at the Country Music Awards

We already checked out all the red carpet looks and now it's time to get down to the show at last night's Country Music Awards in Nashville. The big winners of the night were Carrie Underwood, who won Female Vocalist of the Year for the second year in a row and Single of the Year for "Before He Cheats," and for the guys Kenny Chesney who won Entertainer of the Year, and Brad Paisley, Male Vocalist of the Year. Check out the full list of winners here. An unexpected highlight for me was Kellie Pickler who got pretty emotional during her song, and on a random note Jamie Foxx's appearance. Meanwhile, I was expecting a whole lot of Jessica Simpson all over the CMAs and she was apparently in the auditorium, but kept herself out of the spotlight - she's more serious about country music than another photo op. Ha. Did any of you watch the show? Favorite moments? Shockers?

Renée Opens Up About Kenny

It's not often that Renée opens up about her personal life. When she and Kenny split after only being married for four months she wouldn't say much at all. But this week she was featured in LIFE magazine and it seems that enough time has passed for her to talk about the break-up. Still, it's obvious that the pain from that experience is still very close. Here's more:

When asked what the hardest part of 2006 was:
Well, I’m sure that if you buy groceries, you might have read something about it. It's not on the top of my favorite things that have ever happened. [Her eyes well up] I’m not a superficial person. I don't care about what's on the grocery-store shelves. That's just salt in the wound. But it’s not a television show. I lived it. [A breakup] is a very sad experience for anyone to go through, and it's not fun when people decide that it's a lovely thing to capitalize on. But you're oblivious to that because you are living the reality of the experience-which is devastating.
When asked if her and Kenny are still friends:
I'll tell you that I was saddened. I'll tell you that it took . . . it's, it's not something I could [reason] away. It’s something that I'll live through, but I don’t want to talk about it beyond that because it matters to me.

It's got to be tough to not only deal with a failed marriage, but to have to see headlines of it all over the place every time you go to pick up some groceries. Renée Tries to Dodge Questions About Kenny

Renée stopped by Letterman last night to promote her new film Miss Potter. Dave, however, had other ideas. He was very interested in her quickie marriage (and divorce) to Kenny Chesney, and wouldn't let up about it despite the fact that Renée was obviously uncomfortable with the subject. Here's more:

When Letterman said, "Can we talk about your marriage to Kenny Chesney a little bit?" Zellweger quipped sarcastically, "I thought you'd never ask!" The host then said, "Did you kids really try?" Zellweger appeared visibly uncomfortable and said, "It's ok, baby, I can take it. C'mon, let's go. I'm ready!" The star kept trying to avoid the questions, with Letterman asking about the current state of their relationship saying, "Are you still friends with him?" Zellweger said, "Yes, I am still friends with him. Not you, anymore, now we're done! Oh, no, it's all over now. I mean we had a good thing going for years here." When he asked if she had started dating again, she said tentatively, "I like to say I'm not single, I'm just real busy. "I know all the guys in the different frequent flyer clubs around the world. I know them and they're all real nice to me!"

Renée seemed to handle herself okay. It might be awhile though before we see her on Letterman again! For more pics just read more

Renee Hosts a Tea Party

Renee looked cool and casual at the Tribeca Gallery this week. She was in NYC to promote her new movie Miss Potter. She even hosted the Miss Potter Tea Party and Beatrix Potter Gallery launch. While busy promoting her new film Renee still had time to address the romance rumors. Since splitting from Kenny Chesney she has been linked to Damien Rice, but insists he is just a friend. She said, "I like Damien so much. He's one of my favourite singers, such a neat guy. "But he is not my boyfriend."
