A Funny Thing Happened on Ryan and Scarlett's Way to the Benefit

Mrs. and Mr. Ryan Reynolds hit the red carpet separately at the A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Cure Parkinson's benefit for the Michael J. Fox Foundation in NYC last night. While it may not have been the evening where Ryan and Scarlett finally posed together, they both looked fantastic out to support the cause. Ryan did have some photo partners, however, including the man of the night Michael J. Fox and his wife Tracy Pollan. Ryan ran the NYC Marathon last Sunday to benefit the foundation, which is close to his heart due to his father's Parkinson's diagnosis. As two of the big celebrity Obama supporters, Ryan and Scarlett have quite a few things to celebrate this week - now if only we could ever actually see them do it side by side.

Ben Watches Radiant Jennifer's Broadway Premiere

Ben was front and center at Jennifer Garner's official Broadway debut in Cyrano de Bergerac, alongside her illustrious costars Kevin Kline and Daniel Sunjata. Afterwards Jen flashed her big grin alongside her director, David Leveaux, at the after party. It's been a never ending string of red carpets for Ben (he must have accrued quite the suit collection), but this one was probably one of the most special. You were overwhelmingly positive about the chance to see Jennifer during her 10 week run and it sounds like it's all deserved. The New York Times described Jennifer as "captivating," "comfortable" and that she "radiates megawatt beauty." It has been quite the fall for the Garner-Afflecks. Ben and Jen are both rolling in the good reviews today - yay - but their daughter is always going to get the most gushing raves.

The Winners Get Giddy and Glowing in the Press Room

After taking the stage to accept their awards, the night's big winners - and some of the exciting presenters - walked backstage to pose for photos and talk to the press. Jennifer Aniston and Sarah Jessica Parker skipped the interview aspect of things instead posing pretty in front of the big gold men before running off to the after parties. The big award winners were still glowing from their wins when they stepped in front of the mics to talk about what brought them there. Penelope was first up and she was happy to answer questions in her native Spanish before gushing about Woody Allen.

Heath's family did an incredible job honoring their son who took home the well deserved Best Supporting Actor award. Nothing was stopping Kate Winslet who joked about just how much better winning is than losing. Sean Penn made things a bit more serious talking about the political importance of Milk before continuing to rave about Mickey Rourke. Jennifer May Be Lighting Up Broadway

We obviously can never get enough of Jennifer spending time with adorable Violet, but we're still antsy to see her acting again. Lucky for us, we'll be getting our chance this fall. Besides her upcoming movie The Kingdom, Jen may be Broadway bound in October. The NY Post reports Garner and Kevin Kline are in talks for a revival of "Cyrano de Bergerac." Think of Steve Martin in Roxanne only this time on stage and with Kline wearing a fake nose and Jennifer as his love interest.

The project hasn't been confirmed yet, but this sounds like a fun way for Jen to shake things up a bit. Besides, think of how much fun it will be to see Jen and Violet playing in Central Park and finding NYC's finest farmers' markets like the one in Union Square.

After weeks of rehearsals and preview performances, tonight is Cyrano de Bergerac's official opening night. Jennifer has been making the rounds in NYC promoting The Kingdom including a stop on Live With Regis & Kelly yesterday. She talked about how starstruck she got working with Kevin Kline on her new Broadway show, how Ben plays Mr. Mom, and of course how much she's enjoying showing Violet around New York - she even gave a shout out to the park! Between her family, new movie and Broadway debut, Jen had so much to gush about that she even had to knock on wood a few times.

Jennifer Can't Wait To Be On Stage

We're so used to seeing Jennifer Garner as a wife and mommy that we sometimes forget how gorgeous she is. However, Jen shows that she hasn't lost her sex appeal in these photos for Marie Claire. Speaking of branching out and mixing things up, Jen is in talks to do Ghosts of Girlfriends Past with Matthew McConaughey and she recently revealed how excited she is to make her big Broadway debut. She said,

It's always been my absolute dream of all dreams. All of this stuff that I have done, has been accidental. I always, always meant to be on stage. I only ended up even auditioning for television and movies because I was understudying a Turgenev play on Broadway and was so broke that when I got a miniseries I had to take it. So this chance I couldn't pass up. Working with Kevin Kline, being in New York in the fall, doing this role, getting to say these words. I mean, just thinking about it I get so excited!"

We've been fans of Jennifer's ever since her Alias days but it's sweet that her dream of performing on stage is finally coming true. We're also looking forward to Violet sightings in NYC's finest parks.

Jennifer Garner Is Officially Broadway Bound

Jen and Ben went as twinsies in their baseball caps while Violet stuck with her signature crocs as the whole family headed to the doctor's office in LA yesterday. The Afflecks sure do love spending time in the California sunshine, but pretty soon they'll be packing up for fall in New York. The rumors were true, and Jennifer is all set to star alongside Kevin Kline in the Broadway production of Cyrano de Bergerac. The show opens on November 1st and we're willing to bet that her two biggest fans will be cheering her on from the front row.

Britney Spears Has A Bit Of An Entitlement Problem

Britney looked in good spirits out to lunch yesterday, but there are more dispatches from the OK! Magazine photoshoot from hell, (which hits stands today, btw). Not only did Brit use designer dresses both as a napkin and to clean up after London, but apparently she walked out of the shoot wearing $21,267 worth of clothing and accessories. Hey, maybe Britney thought she deserved it since she didn't get her $1 million paycheck for the shoot since it was canceled halfway through. Inside the article, things aren't getting much better for Brit -- according to OK! after seeing Britney's recent erratic behavior, Alli and Lynne Spears are siding with Kevin in the ongoing custody battle. I can't even imagine how unstable Britney will react to that.

On a lighter note and speaking of feeling bizarrely entitled, Spears was dropping some cash at Lisa Kline yesterday (including on an entire line of Jack Daniel's clothing) when she asked if she could just take home the shoes the store provided to try on with clothes. Does she know how many people's feet have been in those things?

Hayden Is Loved By His Peers

Hayden Christensen may be best known for his work in Star Wars Episodes 1-3, but there's so much more to this predominately indie actor's repertoire. Beyond his good looks (awesome photo shoot much?), there's a driven young man who isn't just working for the paycheck. And in the cover story for the most recent issue of the Canadian men's magazine, Toro, two of his recent costars are quick to attest to that fact. Here's more:

From Jessica Alba: "He's so warm and loving and sweet. And not an egomaniac or egotistical or anything like that...there are a lot of actors out there -- they like to be famous and they like to act like movie stars, and all that, and it doesn't feel like that's what Hayden's goal is."
From Kevin Kline: "He's a regular, not to say he's not extraordinary and special, but...he's a man. He's not some sort of aberrant, artsy-fartsy, self-absorbed, phony, pathetic, neurotic, attention-seeking...whats the word -- freak. I mean, he's the real thing."

Hayden seems like a sweetheart and these glowing peer reviews don't hurt any. I must say, though, I'm mostly excited to see his next big movie, Jumper, which looks to be pretty awesome (you know, not that it has anything to do with his co-star in the movie, Rachel Bilson). Aw, Bilson or not, Hayden is someone I certainly can't wait to see (and hear, isn't his voice hot?) more of in the future.
