Britney, Diddy, Kim, Miranda, and More Honor Whitney Houston at Clive Davis's Pre-Grammy Party

Stars came out to attend Clive Davis's pre-Grammy party at the Beverly Hilton in LA last night despite the tragic news of Whitney Houston's death yesterday afternoon. Clive, who started Whitney's career and remained close to the singer, asked that guests observe a moment of silence for Whitney during the event and shared, "She loved music and loved this night that celebrated music. Whitney would have asked that the music go on. And her family said the show should go on." Clive was just one of many celebrities who commented on Whitney's death yesterday, including Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey.

Britney Spears and her fiancé, Jason Trawick, got the annual celebration going, as did Kim Kardashian and Richard Branson, who was honored at the gala. Jennifer Lopez, Diana Ross, Tom Hanks, and others walked the carpet while Diddy, Miranda Lambert, Alicia Keys, and more took the stage during the event. The musical fun is just getting started since the main event, the Grammy Awards, will take place later today with Jennifer Hudson expected to sing a tribute to Whitney.

Charlize and Leonardo Bring Their Star Power Inside InStyle's Bash

Charlize Theron rubbed shoulders with fellow nominees inside last night's InStyle party following the Golden Globes. She was a best actress in a drama nominee for Young Adult, though the honor ended up going to The Iron Lady's Meryl Streep. Nonetheless, Charlize was in the mood to celebrate with her fellow best actress contender, The Help's Viola Davis. Leonardo DiCaprio also turned out on the special evening. He was up for best actor in a drama for J. Edgar, and that distinction would end up going to the hilarious The Descendants star George Clooney. Other stars let loose at the magazine's event with editor Ariel Foxman. Sofia Vergara toasted Modern Family's best TV comedy win with her pal Diddy, after they spent New Year's Eve together in Miami. Kate Beckinsale made the rounds, too, as did Jessica Chastain, Heidi Klum, and more!

Kim Kardashian channeled some serious Old Hollywood sultriness on last night's Golden Globes afterparty circuit. She made the rounds in an embellished, body-hugging black lace confection. Never one to veer away from the glamour, Kim paired her dramatic gown with oversized diamond and ruby-detailed earrings and a ruby-encrusted cocktail ring. To finish her siren statement, she donned her signature voluminous eyelashes, perfect brows, soft waves, and a rosy red lip tint. Do you think Kim nailed this look?

Orlando, Leo, Julia, Demi, and More Join Forces For Peace

The stars came out to support yesterday's Cinema For Peace event benefiting the J/P Haitian Relief Organization, which was founded by Sean Penn, in Beverly Hills. Leonardo DiCaprio showed up after attending the annual BAFTA tea earlier in the day while Demi Moore made an appearance alongside daughter Rumer Willis. Orlando Bloom suited up for the charity dinner as his wife, Miranda Kerr, hit the red carpet at a Qantas event across town. Julia Roberts, Salma Hayek, and Kim Kardashian were among the other attendees to watch Sean Penn be honored with the Cinema For Peace Award for Humanitarian Action in Haiti. He was also recognized for his humanitarian work at last week's Critics' Choice Awards. Yesterday's charity dinner for Sean's organization raised $5 million, half of which was donated by Oprah Winfrey.

Kardashian Barbie Dolls: Kid-Friendly or Are You Kidding?

Barbie just can't stop pushing the limits these days. Following the introduction of Totally Stylin' Tattoos Barbie a few years ago and the recent addition of Sweet Talking Ken (a doll that has the unique ability to "sweet talk" tots with their own words) to the collection, the rumor mill is churning away about Barbie's newest friends Khloe, Kourtney, and Kim Kardashian!

The reality TV and unrated video stars have certainly found unlimited ways to cash in on their "lack of talent." Unnamed sources say the dolls will, "reflect the girls' measurements and may even come in Kardashian-designed outfits."

Though Mattel won't comment on the rumors, we want to know if the Kardashian Barbies would make their way into your tots' Barbie Dream Houses?

There were other stars that moved on from their relationships, but we want to know - which couple had the most shocking breakup of 2011?

Would You Admit to Having a Favorite Child?

Eeny, meeny, miny, moe . . . How do you choose? Way back at the beginning of the year, Kate Tietje wrote a post for Babble titled "Mom Confession: I Think I Love My Son a Little Bit More." While some parents praised her for her candor, most took her to task for her admission. My thoughts immediately returned to her article while watching Barbara Walters's 18th annual 10 Most Fascinating People special last night. Though Walters's decision to put the Kardashian family on her list at all is worthy of its own post, an exchange between Kourtney, Khloe, and Kim and their momager Kris caught me off guard:

Barbara: Who is your mom’s favorite?
Kourtney, Khloe, and Kim (simultaneously): Kim!
Kris: You know, I think it seems -
Kourtney, Khloe, and Kim (simultaneously): Just say it!
Kris: OK, yes, she’s my favorite. (Pause.) No, she’s not!
Khloe: Whoever gives her the most percentage rights [is her favorite].
Kris: No, that’s not true. Just the most attention.

As parents we often strive do things fair and square among our children, but it doesn't always work out that way. Sure, sometimes one tot ends up with a few more goldfish in her bowl than the other, but would you ever openly admit that you loved one child more than another?

Kim and Kris Disagreed on Kids, Family, and Lifestyle

In last night's Kourtney & Kim Take New York, we begin to see more of why Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries's marriage was so short-lived. Their arguments in the episode revolve around children and their different concepts of where and how to raise a family. They initially agree they both want to have kids, although it doesn't look like they're excited about it. Then once they start actually talking about the realities of raising a family, Kris gets more gung-ho about having them right away while Kim goes the opposite direction, deciding for herself that she's not ready for children and leaving her husband in the dark.

I can't think of bigger decisions than those regarding careers, where you're going to live, and whether or not you're going to have children. So it's amazing that Kim and Kris hadn't broached these subjects before tying the knot. With differing opinions on all three of those hot-button topics, it's no wonder they didn't work out.
