With all the bold, subversive prints we saw on the Spring '12 runways, it's no surprise that some celebs are getting in on the trend a little early. We spotted a few of our fashion favorites in vibrant mixed-media patterns on the red carpet recently, and we truly can't get enough of them. Alexa Chung and Leelee Sobieski both stepped out in Mary Katrantzou's signature elaborate prints, pairing their respective frocks with black heels and minimal jewelry, while Kate Bosworth attended an InStyle event in a stunning Peter Pilotto sheath dress, styled with cobalt blue pumps and a nude clutch. What's great about each piece is that it stands out immediately, and needs little styling; with so much intricate detailing to focus on, it's best to keep shoes and accessories simple. To work the trend yourself, check out our tips below - and then get shopping.

Mixed motif pieces can work for day or evening; a printed blouse looks office-appropriate when tucked into a slim-fitting pencil skirt, while a bold dress can turn heads out at night with a great pair of neutral heels.
Keep accessories to a minimum, if not nonexistent. A print this eye-catching needs little else to compete with. Opt for a simple envelope clutch or chain-strap purse, and one cocktail ring or thin bangle.
Choose a printed silhouette that flatters your best feature. If you love your legs, pick a dress or skirt that has the most ornate detailing near the hemline. If you want to show off your arms or décolletage, a piece with the most printing at the top will help do the trick.

Rachel Zoe Soaks In More Fashion Week Fun With Alexa, Alicia, and Pharrell at Proenza Schouler

New York Fashion Week is starting to wind down, but yesterday boasted some of the biggest shows of the season and Rachel Zoe was front row to check out Proenza Schouler's Spring 2012 collection. The runway was covered in shag carpet, and the models strutted down the catwalk in Proenza Schouler eelskin skirts and prints. Rachel was joined in the audience by Alexa Chung, Pharrell Williams, and Alicia Keys. It's been an action-packed week for Rachel Zoe, who has taken in tons of shows alongside husband Rodger, and she also showed off her own Rachel Zoe collection with a private presentation. Rachel and Rodger's baby son, Skyler, was front and center to check out his mom's hard work. Rachel admitted she was "terrified" for her first-ever fashion week presentation, but it went off without a hitch. Then and Now: The Summer Menswear Suit

One of our favorite looks from last night's CFDA Awards was Leelee Sobieski looking crisp and refreshing in a cream and white menswear suit, accessorizing the masculine look with only a sexy red lip. Her oft-publicized resemblance to Helen Hunt brought us back to 1991, when Helen Hunt donned an oversized cream menswear suit for a play opening. Oh, how the tailoring has changed in the last 20 years. Leelee's suit was designed by husband Adam Kimmel, and we love the slim jacket paired with slouchier, high-waisted pants. Helen Hunt still managed to look adorable despite the monster-sized shoulders (remember she was fresh off the '80s). What are some of your favorite Summer suit looks?

The CFDA Fun Rolls On With Ladies-Man Gerard, Liv Tyler, and More

The fun at yesterday's CFDA Awards moved from the main event at Alice Tully Hall on to various afterparties around town. Gerard Butler made sure to catch up with lovely ladies like Michael Kors-clad Miranda Kerr and Ashley Greene while a sequined onsie-wearing Marcia Cross mingled with stars like Kanye West, Leelee Sobieski, and her husband, designer Adam Kimmel. Liv Tyler and Alessandra Ambrosio showed love for their designer pals, Proenza Schouler's Lazaro Hernandez and Prabal Gurung, respectively. Some went for an after, afterparty at the Monkey Bar, though the evening's big winner, Lady Gaga, celebrated her fashion icon honor at the Top of the Standard and performed in an outfit that was skimpy even for her! Naomi and Liev Get Close at an Arty Party

Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber joined famous friends like director Baz Luhrmann last night at the Tribeca Ball 2011. The annual fundraiser drew lots of creative celebs to the New York Academy of Art for dinner and drinks, and Naomi and Liev were arm-in-arm for much of the celebratory evening. The duo enjoyed the grown-up gathering after spending recent months focusing on their two boys, taking them to the park, on bike rides, and strolls around town.

Trend Alert: Orange Eye Shadow

Shades of tangerine and coral are something you'd expect to see on the lips, not necessarily on the eyes. But if recent celebrity red-carpet looks ring true, using orange on the lids is set to burst in popularity. Over a month ago at the 2011 Oscars, for instance, Scarlett Johansson got the trend started by wearing shades from Dolce & Gabbana's The Smooth Eye Colour Quad in Stromboli (see the how-to here).

Then, over the weekend at the 2011 Kids' Choice Awards, Fergie opted to get in on the action with a neon orange version of the shade, while Leelee Sobieski's blue eyes popped surrounded by a pretty pumpkin hue at an event yesterday. With brands like Estée Lauder featuring an intensely orange shade in its collection and heavy eye makeup looks gaining momentum in general, I'm sure we'll be seeing more bold, runway-style shadows coming our way. Jake and Anne Laugh It Up at Another Lovely Premiere

Anne Hathaway picked a white Valentino dress last night to pose with Jake Gyllenhaal, in Burberry, at a screening of their Love and Other Drugs held in NYC's Directors Guild of America theater. The duo laughed as they posed with director Ed Zwick and were joined by other celebs like Peter Facinelli, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, and a newly short-haired LeeLee Sobieski. Anne and Jake were also together on Monday, when they joined forces for a Variety Q and A session. They've had whirlwind travel schedules over the past few weeks to promote the film in London and LA, and Anne's set to stay busy as she gears up to host Saturday Night Live this weekend. She was able to let off some steam last night, however, at the afterparty with her designer pal Valentino.

The Stars of HBO Throw Their Weight Behind How to Make It in America

The gang from How to Make It in America got together in NYC last to celebrate their upcoming series premiere, which airs on HBO Sunday on Valentine's Day. Stars Lake Bell, Bryan Greenberg and Victor Rasuk were joined by Eddie Kaye Thomas and Scott Mescudi, aka Kid Cudi, on the red carpet. We were able to recently chat with Bryan and Victor about their new Mark Wahlberg produced show - make sure to tune into PopSugar Rush Friday to see our exclusive interview! Lake was thrilled to meet other members of the HBO family, including Entourage's Adrian Grenier and Big Love's Chloe Sevigny.

Josh Lucas joined the cast at the after-party in the Bowery Hotel, which also brought out Kristen Dunst. Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr had the evening off from Gossip Girl and were caught on their way home, as was Avatar's Zoe Saldana and her boyfriend Keith Britton. The How to Make It in America stars still have lots of press to do before their first episode airs this weekend, but the blizzard currently taking over the Big Apple unfortunately got in Bryan's way forcing him to reschedule a date with Jimmy Kimmel in LA.

LeeLee Sobieski's Laid Back Pregnancy

Here's a twist on pregnancy cravings: LeeLee Sobieski is eating less, not more, ice cream now that she's sporting a baby bump. The young actress, most recently seen alongside Johnny Depp in Public Enemies, tells Us magazine that she's craving stomach-soothing ginger and kid-friendly comfort foods like macaroni and cheese.

Though soul-satisfying, comfort foods are not known for their health benefits. To keep healthy while chowing down, Sobieski still meets with her personal trainer and also takes "nice long walks along the Hudson River." More than anything she's choosing to lay low during her pregnancy by staying relaxed and enjoying the feeling of being "so in love."

I love celebrities who stay uber-fit when pregnant, but I think Sobieski's idea of laying back creates a nice balance of fitness and wellness. And let's face it, there's no better reason than pregnancy to give into cravings like macaroni and cheese!
