The Great Gatsby Trailer: DiCaprio Always Looks So Cool

The trailer for Baz Luhrmann's film adaptation of The Great Gatsby is everything I hoped it would be: visually stunning, stylish, and sexy. Of course, he has the benefit of his source material being set in the 1920s, a period that offers amazing costumes, cars, and sets, especially when the story focuses on the elite and their lavish parties. At the center of those parties is Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio), a mysteriously wealthy man who enjoys throwing big, fancy events but doesn't seem to relish the attention that goes with them. He prefers to watch from afar, particularly when it comes to Daisy Buchanan (Carey Mulligan), a naive but beautiful young woman in an unhappy marriage, whom Gatsby admires.

If you had to read the story in high school like most of us did, then you know how narrator Nick (Tobey Maguire)'s story goes. There's sex, scandal, and tragedy as we learn more about the inner workings of the upper class. This is all hinted at in the preview, along with Luhrmann's signature polish that's reminiscent of his smash hit Moulin Rouge. My only gripe is that the Kanye song feels a bit out of place, but that hardly impedes my excitement for this movie. Leonardo DiCaprio Sports Scruff and Smokes a Fake Cigarette on Set

Leonardo DiCaprio was spotted on the New Orleans set of Django Unchained yesterday. He puffed on an electronic cigarette between takes and showed off his grown-out facial hair. He's been filming the Quentin Tarantino project since March and we've already seen pictures of Leonardo in character as Calvin Candie, alongside his costars Jamie Foxx and Christoph Waltz. Last month, Leo, Jamie, and Christoph joined leading lady Kerry Washington in Cancun for Sony's annual Spring junket to promote the movie. Production kept Leo from another important obligation though, since he was unable to attend the London premiere of Titanic 3D with Kate Winslet. He did, however, make time to play uncle to Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer's daughter Ruby in NYC.

First Django Unchained Pics: Leo, Jamie, and Christoph Go Western!

Quentin Tarantino's latest project, Django Unchained, doesn't hit theaters until Christmas, but Entertainment Weekly just gave us a peek at the first pictures, and might we say they are quite intriguing. Jamie Foxx stars as Django, a former slave out for revenge against his one-time master, the cruel Calvin Candle, played by Leonardo DiCaprio. These pics give us a little insight into the Wild West style of the film, complete with manly facial hair - we're looking at you, Christoph Waltz. Can't wait until photos of some of the other stars (like Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Don Johnson, and Sacha Baron Cohen) start pouring in!

Leo Takes His Own Cancun Spring Break With Django Unchained

Leonardo DiCaprio headed down to Cancun over the weekend for Sony's annual Spring junket, with this year's version dubbed "Summer of Sony 4 Spring Edition." The company takes advantage of a chance to show off their upcoming crop of films, which includes Leo's Django Unchained from director Quentin Tarantino. Quentin and Leo were side by side for yesterday's photocall, as were DiCaprio's costars Kerry Washington, Jamie Foxx, and Christoph Waltz. Django is a reunion for Christoph and Quentin, who worked together on 2009's Inglourious Basterds. Leo and the gang have been shooting the movie back in America. Production on the picture meant that Leo missed out on promoting his other big-screen project, the rerelease of Titanic in 3D.

Scott Fitzgerald book, and Leo has since started working on Django Unchained in New Orleans. Leo's latest project kept him away from the London premiere of Titanic 3D with costar and pal Kate Winslet last month.
