Madonna Shows Her Children How She Raises Malawi

Madonna had her hands full during a visit to The Home of Hope Childcare Center in Malawi with all her kids yesterday. Lourdes carried one of the current residents as Madonna showed David, Lourdes and Mercy the crib where David slept before he was adopted and played with the children. Leaving recent stateside legal issues behind, Madonna also broke ground on her new school for girls and checked in on the progress of a few other projects that her Raising Malawi fund is constructing at the Center.

It's Madonna's Turn to Sightsee in Paris With Her Family

Madonna left London earlier this week and arrived at her hotel in Paris on Tuesday night. Lourdes, Rocco, Mercy and David joined her Wednesday, when they spent the afternoon sightseeing with their nannies. The big trip was for Madonna's show in the city last night, as she and her kids join the ranks of the pop star families currently traveling together in Europe. Not every country on Madonna's tour is as welcoming as France - people in Poland are staging protests because her concert there falls on a Catholic holiday in August.

Madonna's Ready to Release Her Candy, Officially Gain a Son

After a long week of trips to the gym with Gwyneth, Madonna took her three kids - Lourdes, Rocco and little David - out to dinner at San Lorenzo in London last night. It comes along with news that the final hearing before Madonna gets to formally adopt David has been postponed another month until mid May. After all the waiting, another month can't feel like too much and it's not like Madonna won't be busy busy busy before then - Hard Candy drops in less than two weeks on April 29! We definitely can't wait to get our hands on it, and to celebrate the release Madonna is playing a show at NYC's Roseland Ballroom the following night. That sounds so fun!

Madonna Kicks Off '08 With an Adventure in India

Madonna and her whole family headed to India last week to ring in the new year with some culture. The crew participated in all kinds of events in the desert, from horseback riding to dance shows to eating the traditional food. We love that Madonna wanted to get all three of her kids into the Indian traditions but it looks like they decided to stick with their own wardrobe. Loving David Banda's hot camo hat! After this vacation it probably won't be long before Madonna is back to the grind and working on her apartment and her new album.

Would Madonna Let Lourdes Act?

Madonna runs a pretty tight ship when it comes to her children, but rumor has it that Lourdes has been offered a part in the next Harry Potter movie. Supposedly Warner Bros. wanted to cast her in the last film, and has approached Madonna for a second time. Apparently Lourdes really wants the part, but we wonder if Madonna would allow this, so we want to know - do you think Madonna will let Lourdes act?

Vince Gets Back Into the Holiday Spirit

Vince Vaughn took his Fred Claus for a sleigh ride overseas to London last night. Guy Ritchie, Rocco and Lourdes came out to catch the new film, but Madonna sat this one out. Vince doesn't have any kids of his own, but he's been getting lots of experience with them thanks to his nieces and nephew. Beyond giving him an appreciation for Supernanny, they help get him into the Christmas spirit. He told InTouch:

On Christmases in the Vaughn household::
"They were all good. The only thing is that when you were younger, you'd get toys, but then you'd get to a certain age and all you'd get were clothes. I'd be like, 'This isn't fun, I don't want socks!' Then I'd feel the next gift and it would be jeans. I was painfully skinny then, so clothes were just a reminder of how awkward I was. But now that I have a nephew and nieces, the fun is back in it."
On what his nieces and nephew think of his new movie:
"My nephew saw the Fred Claus poster and goes 'Uncle Vince! That's you and Santa Claus!' He was upset, thinking, 'How come he hasn't introduced me? Doesn't he know I'd like to meet Santa?'"

Aww - we love hearing more about the sweeter side of Vince. Even though he plays his usual wisecracking self in the film, we bet he used his experience as an uncle to win over lots of parents and kids.

Madonna Leaves Malawi and Yes That's Headline News

Madonna continued her charitable projects this weekend by planting a tree at an orphanage before leaving with David and Lourdes on Sunday. The question on everyone's minds, of course, is whether or not she met with David's father but the answer remains unclear. A source at Home of Hope (the orphanage where David was adopted) told People, "[Banda] was told he would spend some time with his son," but evidently the meeting didn't happen and no more details are available as to why.

At the same time British tabloids reported that the meeting did happen earlier in the week so, who knows. It's hard to believe that Madonna wouldn't let Banda see his son. As for adopting another child, Madonna's rep says absolutely not.

Madonna Inadvertently Employs Makeshift Bodyguards

Madonna, Lourdes and David Banda continued to enjoy their time back in David's homeland of Malawi this week. Lourdes happily honed her filmmaking skills, but it sounds like the trip has also had some pretty intense moments for Madonna and (I imagine) little David, too. Yesterday afternoon the singer and her newly adopted son were set to visit his former orphanage to meet with David's father. As expected, the media frenzy was in tow, but a group of local students decided to protect Madonna and David by throwing rocks at the swarming media. Sounds honorable, though I'm sure the kids learned that sticks and stones may break the paparazzi's bones, but nothing will ever (ever) really deter them.

Family Night at the Movies for Madonna

It was a family affair for Madonna and her loved ones at the London premiere of Arthur and the Invisibles. Noticeably missing was their latest addition, David, who we'd love to see out and about with the family. Unfortunately for everyone involved, the adoption saga isn't over yet. To those close to her, Madonna has even admitted that it is the most criticism she has had to endure since her early days as a boundary-pushing pop star.

Hopefully this ordeal will be behind the Ritchie family soon. Btw, how cute is little Rocco hamming it up for the cameras?? More pics so read more

Madonna, David and Mercy Do Good and Crack Up in Malawi

Madonna continued her work in Malawi, including a tour of the Mphandu la Orphanage with Mercy, Lourdes, David and Rocco yesterday. David looks like he's the comedian of the family making some funny faces for the cameras. Earlier this week, Madonna broke ground on her girls' school, but she still feels like there's a lot of work to be done. She pledged to bring electricity to the area saying, "I know you work in darkness. I will bring you electricity." Madonna's been busy down in Africa, but we should expect to see a lot of her imposters tomorrow night since the Material Girl costume is a perennial favorite, even for celebrities.
