People's Choice Nominee Taylor Gets Physical in Men's Health

Taylor Lautner kept his shirt on for the cover of December's Men's Health, but his muscles were still a hot topic. Inside the magazine, Taylor's trainer Jordan Yuam opened up about their exercise regimen that created the New Moon star's amazing abs. Taylor and his costars are currently off doing press for their film in Paris, but back home in the US the Twilight gang led the pack at the People's Choice Awards nominations that came out today. He earned a spot in the Best Breakout Actor category as well as best ensemble - check out the whole list here!

David Beckham Gives Us the Old One-Two Punch

David Beckham is looking seriously sexy on the September cover of Men's Health, keeping his shirt on (boo) and dressing up in a suit for his boxing-themed photo shoot. In the interview, he talks about his family, sports, and how someone was very wrong about his soccer skills. Here are some highlights:

On his comfort zone: "There is this madness around me, around my family. Without a doubt, out on the field is where I'm most comfortable, where I'm happiest, because I know what I'm doing, and I know I can do it."
On losing: "I'm a really bad loser. It stays with me for a while. I always take it quite personally when we don't win as a team or I don't win in everything else I do."
On relaxing: "People always ask me, 'Do you play golf?' Because a majority of sportsmen do. I used to play, quite a few years ago, but to be honest, I'd rather spend four hours with the kids than four hours on a golf course. As much as it can be relaxing, it's a frustrating sport. My way of relaxing is listening to music and spending time with the kids."
What another player said to him when he was 13 years old: "You'll never play for England, because you're too small and not strong enough."

Looks like Becks really knows how to motivate himself by proving people wrong - and now he's racking up awards to show everyone that he's still on top.

John Krasinski Shows Off His Healthy Physique

John Krasinski got to play dress up in old-fashioned sports uniforms for the December issue of Men's Health. He looks adorable on the cover while in the photoshoot he makes us grateful that basketball players don't wear short shorts like these anymore. In the article John talks about staying fit, but we were more interested in him talking about George Clooney in Leatherheads and playing Jim on The Office. Here are some highlights:

On Clooney: "I told my friends that I challenged George - what a great way to break the ice with my director, right? They said, 'Dude, that guy plays two-on-two twice a day! He has his own court at Warner Brothers!' He just gave me that People's Sexiest Man Alive smile - it stuns you for a second - and that's all he needed. He beat me. I won't say by how much. I'd love a rematch now that my head's in the right space."
On his TV counterpart: "I think there's something really romantic about Jim. He's the guy you know. The man you might actually be, deep down. For good or bad, he's content. Sometimes that's a curse. But I've found you can be really successful and still be in love, or be successful and passionate about something, or be successful and play hoops every weekend with your buddies. That's the endgame, you know?"

John may have to wait a while before he hits Clooney's Manjoyment status, but in the meantime, we're hoping the writers strike will be over soon so we can continue to enjoy watching him on Thursday nights.

SJP Is Happily Mole-Free and Headed For a Sequel

Sarah Jessica Parker went functionality first walking a slightly less bundled up James Wilkie to school yesterday. It was business as usual for the mother-son duo, despite the sad news that Bitten went down with Steve & Barry's. That certainly doesn't mean less work for SJP, with her new TV show in the works and movies as always. As for the one movie everyone wants to hear about, Sarah Jessica recently talked more about the sequel and also life after removing her mole. Here are highlights:

On the SATC movie: The one thing I regret is I never roamed around Manhattan and saw it [with the crowds]. I was too embarrassed about getting caught. I was afraid it would look like I was gloating. I do regret not seeing all those ladies - and some men - dressed up in their finery. But it was thrilling to hear about.
On removing her mole: If I knew it was famous I never would have had it removed. My health is terrific. I never thought anybody had any emotional attachment to that mole. I certainly didn't. It was just one of those things where I had a couple weeks and I thought, "I can finally get that mole removed," like many people do. It was an incredibly slow news week . . . One woman said to me, "That's your signature!" I said, "That's my signature?! All these years of being worried about the work, I could have just counted on my mole?!"

On James Wilkie seeing SATC: It's never even occurred to me to consider that. I guess I always assumed he'd never see it. The funny thing is when he says the title to me. Anytime I say I'm going to work he says, "Are you going to do 'Sex and the City'?" He sounds like a dead-end kid. I can't imagine him ever seeing it, but I guess one day it won't be terrifically horrible. Maybe he can show it to his wife on a date.
On a sequel: We are talking about it. We've had very general conversations about the idea. That's the big hurdle: the idea. The studio is very enthusiastic, which is lovely and seductive. We're at the place where [writer/director] Michael [Patrick King] has a wealth of stories so now it's, "We think we have this story and how do we put this together and are we completely sure that it's the right thing to do?" That's challenging. I would do these forever but is it right for the audience? Is this the story that we can tell well? These are the questions I have to ask myself or I'm not being fair to the franchise. That's where we are.

Scarlett Johansson Dishes on Her Dads

Scarlett Johansson spent some time in the wilderness in a photoshoot reminiscent of her new album cover contemplating life and men for Paste magazine. Sure, she looks cute in that red dress, but we're too busy trying to picture her wedding gown already. In the article titled "My Five Dads" Scarlett keeps quiet about her new fiancé Ryan Reynolds (boo), but she dishes on the men she considers father figures: Bill Murray, Woody Allen, Tom Waits, Barack Obama, and Bob Dylan. Here are highlights:

On Bill Murray: “Bill brings an integrity to the work because he really personalizes it,” she says. “He shared his own kind of wisdom in that film. Some of his lines were things he had written, very poignant moments like when he says, ‘You get older, you have kids….’ He’s reminiscing with this character. I think a lot of people related to his character because it was really coming from him."
On Barack Obama: “It’s been so exciting to get out there and talk to kids-and I say ‘kids’ meaning my peers-about why I appreciate Barack. He’s confronting health-care issues that affect young people. You know, most of my friends don’t have insurance. They’re working as photo assistants and stuff like that. These kids on the campaign trail asking questions, they are so well-informed. They’re asking really specific policy questions. It impacts whether they decide to vote for Clinton or Obama, or decide to register as independent or support McCain. They have real concerns, and they want answers. I love that part of it. So that’s a whole other aspect of this life that’s been fun and inspiring.”
On Woody Allen: "I don’t know why relationships between men and women are always pigeon-holed into being some kind of push-and-pull for sexual power. I’m always kind of weirded out when I’m interviewed by people who say, ‘Gosh! Woody must be in love with you.’ It’s like, ‘f*cking expand your mind.’ We have a great friendship between us and I have such a fondness for him as a person. I can appreciate his quirks.”

On Tom Waits: “At first it was like, ‘What this weird music that your dad listens to?’ But Tom Waits’ music somehow oddly appeals to a kid because records like Small Change have that circusy, carnival-act vibe. The songs are very cinematic. I think as a kid I was attracted to that in the same way I loved “Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite!”-one of my favorite Beatles songs. It really lets a kid’s imagination take flight.”
On Bob Dylan: “I’ve been fortunate enough to never be the biggest media sensation,” she says. “I’ll do anything to avoid it... If you have somebody waiting outside your house for 32 hours, it doesn’t matter how many days you’ve clocked in on the movie-star meter. You’re still a person living your life. I can understand how that must have been for Dylan, who’s such an icon. I’ve been fortunate enough to mostly come out unscathed.”

Kinda gotta wonder what her real dad thinks of all this. Sounds like Scarlett has her heroes covered, but we're more interested in whether or not her father figures are feeling a bit overprotective now that she's the future Mrs. Reynolds.

Kevin Federline and Jamie Spears: Golf Buddies?

Jamie Spears is due in court this morning to argue with Kevin's lawyers about overcharging Brit for legal fees, but you wouldn't know anything was acrimonious between the men by their weekend activity. Britney's dad and K Fed hit the links in Tarzana on Saturday - kind of a funny picture-perfect scene, right? I'm sure that Britney knew about the meeting while she was out shopping and dancing, so I don't suspect any foul play. Just a couple of guys taking a break from an extremely stressful ongoing situation before one of them accuses the other of unnecessarily charging his daughter for $500,000 in legal bills (and a $600,000 bill from Brit's former attorney). Jamie will also be there to discuss Britney's mental health and his conservatorship, which has been extended through the end of July but might not last that long. I can see why a quiet afternoon golfing was in order pre-court. Also, Kevin is not looking nearly as hefty as those photos last week, maybe that was just an unflattering shirt?
