Winners and Stars Spread Out the Afterparty Love

After the Oscars were all the afterparties, and while Vanity Fair and Elton John may have drawn the most star-studded crowds, there seemed to be a celebrity attendee at all of them. Hilary Duff swung by Leeza Gibbons's 1st Annual Night to Make a Difference where she was joined by Paris Hilton and Jessica Biel, who was out of her worst-dressed contending gown and into something more bright. Elsewhere in town Lauren Conrad and Lo Bosworth walked the red carpet at a party benefiting Children Uniting Nations.

The Slumdog Millionaire kids were still giddy from their best picture win, staying up way past their bedtimes for a party honoring their movie and The Wrestler. Freida Pinto danced the night away while Dev Patel kept an eye on his younger castmates. Mickey Rourke had other things to do on the big night, despite the fact that he was beaten out by his friend Sean Penn. The parties went on until the wee hours of the morning - it looks like no one wanted the night to end, especially the winners.

Paula Abdul has been caught on tape crying to a group of publicists that she's been mistreated by her former rep Howard Bragman who, among other things, told her she was too old to be on the cover of OK! She also reveals she has Addison's disease. Sounds like she could use a new rep! - Page Six
Jordin Sparks says that Idol gave her confidence about her weight. Now she says she likes her curves and is comfortable in her own skin. Hopefully the music business won't change that. - People

American Idol Top 11 Take on Grand Ole Opry

It's Grand Ole Opry week on American Idol, which meant time for everyone to bring out their best country voices - other than Adam Lambert, who decided sitar music was in order. Let's start with the low points. Michael Sarver kicked off the night in an utterly forgettable way, and while he's cute, it might be back to the oil rigs for him. Scott MacIntyre was sadly not on his game and gave a pretty mediocre performance. Also in the middle ground for me: Lil Rounds, Alexis Grace, Allison Iraheta, and cute "tender dog" Kris Allen. And then there was Adam Lambert. Whoa, Adam Lambert. The judges were split on his complete assault on "Ring of Fire." I mean, Allison rocked out, but at least she was country; his sitar-infused rendition of a classic seemed like both cheating and disrespectful of the song. Simon said it best with, "What the hell was that?"

On the other end of the spectrum was Anoop, who totally turned things around looking and sounding amazing (yay). Simon said he went from "zero to hero." Megan looked pretty and wowed the judges despite being sick. Danny Gokey is a bit too schmaltzy for my taste, though the choice of "Jesus Takes the Wheel" was well played - as usual the fans and judges were smitten. In my opinion, the best was saved for last. Matt Giraud sang Carrie Underwood's "So Small" and sounded fantastic behind the piano. Still getting a JT vibe, which is a good thing, though Simon also compared him to Michael Buble. Check out all of Buzz's thoughts on last night too. As for who will be eliminated - I'm going to have to say Michael Sarver or Alexis Grace. Who do you think is going home tonight?

BAFTA Stars Share Thoughts Over a Spot of Tea

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts held its traditional tea party at The Four Seasons in Beverly Hills on Sunday. Penelope Cruz, Kate Winslet, Toni Collette and Emily Blunt were just some of the stars who came out to sip on tea and nosh some English favorites like fish and chips wrapped in newspaper and cucumber finger sandwiches. The party-goers were in good spirits and willing to chat. Here's highlights:

Kate Winslet called the many awards-season events "fantastic. I try and stay calm and keep my shoulders back."
Fantastic Four's Ioan Gruffudd was on the lookout for Winslet, with whom he (kind of) co-starred nearly a decade ago in Titanic. "I was the one with the flashlight pulling her onto the lifeboat as the ship went down," he recalled with a giggle.
Emily Blunt [who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for The Devil Wears Prada] turned to her crooner beau, Michael Bublé, to quiet her jitters. "It's been my job to calm her down," said Bublé, as Blunt placed her hand on his shoulder.

Emily Blunt is barely recognizable without the red hair and brightly colored eye shadow she sported in The Devil Wears Prada. She has some stiff competition from Toni Collette, Abigail Breslin, and Jennifer Hudson but the one thing she does have over those three? She's British! American Idol Season 6: Goodbye Gina

Pseudo rocker Gina finally got the boot last night and even though she wasn't the worst contestant of the week, we knew she was near the end. She may have been improving but I was never a huge Gina fan anyway so it's not a huge loss. Thanks to Simon all I see now when I look at Haley is her legs and clearly she is focusing on her best feature and playing them up for us. Unfortunately cute Tony Bennett got sick so last minute guest Michael Buble stood in to perform. The most memorable part of his appearance was his Antonella Barba joke. The Grey's Cast Can't Catch a Break

Never one to miss a party, Diddy showed up with quite an entourage to the Warner Music Group Grammy After Party. But before the awards, his late arrival to JT's pre-Grammy party caused a stir with the cast of Grey's Anatomy. Apparently T.R. Knight, Kate Walsh, and Sara Ramirez were told to leave when Diddy found them sitting at his table. Page Six Reports:

A spy said, "Puffy was supposed to sit in the same VIP area that had four tables - two were for him and two were for the 'Grey's Anatomy' cast. But he was very, very late, and there are a lot of 'Grey's' castmembers, so T.R., Kate and Sara were at a table set up for Puffy."

Combs' bodyguard was a little heavy-handed.

"This guy goes up to T.R., Kate and Sara and started demanding - 'Get out! Get out now! Move it!' - T.R. was furious," our spy who was in the same VIP section said.

The spy added that Combs and Knight exchanged words before the "Grey's" cast were led away to another table.

Even though Diddy is the king of the VIP section, this seems a little harsh. Supposedly he didn't recognize TR before sicking his bodyguard on the unsuspecting interns. Sounds like someone needs to catch up on his Greys.
