The GLAAD Awards Kick Off in NYC by Honoring Tyra
The annual series of nationwide GLAAD media award ceremonies kicked off this weekend in NYC. Vanessa Williams and her pregnant Ugly Betty costar Ana Ortiz were two of the attendees, while Tyra Banks received the Excellence in Media Award for her efforts to increase "visibility and understanding of the gay and lesbian community." America Has to Work For Her Nominations
America Ferrera pulled on Betty's neon coat to film scenes for Ugly Betty with Michael Urie in NYC yesterday. We weren't treated to a new episode last week, but we'll get a fresh batch of drama at Mode magazine tonight. America's hard work has earned her a nomination for a SAG award, so hopefully the actress will make it to the show for another fabulous award season red carpet.
Us Weekly Declares Their Hot Hollywood Crowd of 2008
Last night US Weekly celebrated their annual Hot Hollywood issue in New York with real life couple Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens. The adorable duo has been busy promoting HSM3 around the world prior to its big opening this weekend but Zac's already got other projects being highlighted. Just released is the trailer for 17 Again — it's like Big and Freaky Friday but with Hollywood's hottest rising star.
ABC All Stars Pose Hands-on-Hips and Party the Night Away
After spending a long day sitting on panels and fielding questions at the TCAs, the ABC and Disney stars got dressed up and hit the red carpet last night. Despite moving filming to NYC, the Ugly Betty beauties like Becki Newton (get her look here) were representing, even with no America Ferrera. Mixing our medical shows, Kate Walsh hung all over Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence celebrating life back on ABC.
GLAAD Gathers Our Favorite TV Stars and Janet Too
Some of the hottest stars of the small screen were out Saturday night for another night of GLAAD Media Awards, this time in LA. Becki Newton looked ready for Summer in her yellow dress posing with on screen BFF Michael Urie. Both were honored when the cast of Ugly Betty won Outstanding Comedy Series for the second year in a row.
Cindy and Casey Channel Their Charitable Sides
It was a day of family fun in LA at the John Varvatos 6th Annual Stuart House Benefit in LA over the weekend. Cindy Crawford brought her whole fabulous brood to the event, which helps abused children, while Justin Chambers took his wife but left five little ones at home. Casey Affleck also left his boys with their mom but gave us a rare smile to go with his scruff.
Stars Get Their Green on at Environmental Awards
The Ebell Club in LA got a little bit more green last night as it held the 17th annual Environmental Media Association Awards. The event honors the entertainment industry's environmental efforts from films to TV shows to actors/actresses committed to the cause. This year's honorees include Sienna Miller, who didn't make it to the event, Happy Feet, episodes of My Name is Earl and Numb3rs along with...wait for the surprise...Al Gore!
Movieline's Hollywood Life Style Awards
Another week, another award show — this weekend it was the Movieline Life Style Awards and the red carpet certainly lived up to its name. Teri Hatcher was full of smiles, maybe because her DH character was acting a little bit less like a crazy on last night's episode. Cindy Crawford still steals the show, while another award show veteran, David Duchovny is looking better than ever these days — must be the success of his awesome Californication.
Get Ready For A New Season At Mode
Pop's got all her new favorite shows already season passed on the TiVo, but tonight some older favorites are coming back - yay. The 9 o'clock hour is a difficult toss up between The Office and Grey's, but at 8 tonight it's all about Betty. In terms of how much fun a cast has together on set, I have to believe that Ugly Betty is one of the best — look at them together!
Beautiful Ugly Betty-ers Show Off Their Hot DVD
It was a party that would make Mode's Fey Sommers proud last night at the Mondrian in LA to celebrate today's Ugly Betty Season 1 DVD release. All the fabulous UBers looked great on the red carpet, though I will say that I'm especially fond of Mr. Mabius these days (and my other favorite cuties -- Mark Indelicato and Michael Urie). Yay.
