The Beverly Hilton was host to many of this year's Oscar nominees at a luncheon thrown by the Academy in LA today. Brad Pitt started his morning with an appearance on CBS before meeting up with pal George Clooney and Moneyball costar Jonah Hill for the afternoon. Best actress nominee Michelle Williams wore a quirky Victoria Beckham dress for the occasion, though she admitted she's still on the hunt for an Oscars red-carpet gown, while Viola Davis stepped out in hot pink. Bridesmaids's Melissa McCarthy posed in front of a golden Oscar statue as did Rooney Mara, who wore simple black and white and talked about the racy piercings she got for her The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo character. Octavia Spencer, Jean Dujardin, Meryl Streep, and others came out to be honored and chat about being recognized by the Academy. The trailer for Take This Waltz has "precious indie movie" written all over it, right down to the fact that the preview gives us little in the way of plot. Instead, we glean what we can from watching Michelle Williams lead a comfortable married life with Seth Rogen, until she's enticed by a handsome new guy (played by Luke Kirby).

Though I wish this preview had more dialogue, I'm already looking forward to seeing Seth Rogen step outside his comfort zone with some deeper material than what he's usually given, and I can't wait to see him and Williams as an onscreen couple. Michelle Williams Wears Ladylike Erdem For a Chat With Letterman

Michelle Williams posed for photographers before entering the Late Show With David Letterman studios in NYC last night. She was decked out in a floral dress from one of her go-to designers, Erdem. The interview Michelle taped will air on David Letterman's Friday episode. Michelle's home in NYC to spend time with her daughter, Matilda, and friends, but she clearly hasn't stopped making the rounds to chat up her movie My Week With Marilyn. Her role in the biopic earned an Oscar nomination in the category of best actress, and Michelle recently admitted to feeling surprised at the honor. Her name was the last of five to be called, and Michelle explained her reaction last week on the Today show. She's used to waiting for her name to be called, saying, "[It's] alphabetical. My whole life, I'm always the last to be called for any sports in school . . . . it's a "W" problem."

Michelle Williams Wraps Up Her SAGs Weekend and Returns to NYC

Michelle Williams touched down at the airport in NYC yesterday. She's back home on the East Coast following her stay in LA for Sunday's SAG Awards where she was nominated for her role in My Week With Marilyn. Michelle didn't take home the statue but she has plenty of other award season honors already, including a Golden Globe and the Desert Palm Achievement Actress Award from the Palm Springs Film Festival. Michelle will be back in the running for best actress at next month's Oscars, which will apparently be the end of a busy time for the star. On the SAGs red carpet, she shared that she currently has no future projects and plans to spend the upcoming months focusing on her daughter Matilda.
