and in response to comment 2 about only tweens liking her i have to disagree with that also. last weekend i actually took my little cousin to the miley concert in nj and dont get me wrong there were a lot of tween there, but there were also a lot of girls AND boys in there early to mid 20's there, with no younger children with them. not all of her fans are 'tweens'.

Miley cannot sing live well. Did you hear her at the Grammy's with Taylor Swift? Miley basically butchered the song...when Taylor sang it was beautiful but when Miley opened her mouth it was horrendous.

I don't understand the comparison. Justin's music style went downhill as soon as he split from Nsync. I don't even know what a Timbaland is. Miley's tv show is cute, I think she should stick to acting and get out of the music business.

Miley is too uninvolved in the musical process to to be compared to Justin as he is now. She doesn't seem to have any passion for what she does, she'll sing whatever they put in front of her.

Miley is bankable to the masses and bankability doesn't equal talent. At least Justin has a voice, while Miley's barely got that. If she really wants to be considered a musical artist rather than a pawn, then she needs to get a musical education and some humility. Thom Yorke was right when he said Miley needs to stop feeling so entitled but people like Timbaland are not helping that in any way. He says "she's special" and I say way to inflate her already enormous ego.

I agree with Violet07 about her not being involved in the process. She's singing about crap she doesn't even know about (i.e. Jay-Z Songs...) and to me, she has "fake" written all over her. I personally would like to be able to turn on the radio and not have to listen to her stupid song, so I hope she stops putting out music.

Eh, their music is sorta-kinda similar: They both sing very pop-y songs. Buuttt, Justin's is a little bit more mature, sophisticated. I kind of picture people having sex to his music, whereas I picture a group of women at a bachelorette party roller skating to her music. (Idk where I got that image from, don't ask.) I wouldn't go so far as to call her the next JT, however. She's nowhere near as successful or classy for that matter. She's not a triple threat, either. I can't imagine her holding her own next to Andy Samberg and the rest of SNL.

If you mean overrated, sure. I don't like JT or Miley...also, I have to say she was marketed as a tween star but it now being marketed to older people too, so contradictory. I think an artist has a right to grow but shes never been an artist in the realest sense and she shouldn't appeal to any adults, otherwise they are buying a manufactured product not actual music or the work of a musician.

Well, apparently Starbucks she admittedly doesn't write her own music and she isn't even intelligent enough to keep her mouth shut about it. Any person who actively listens to music has heard at least one Jay Z song, she is still at that phase when she is trying to be "cool" and "rock and roll" (that's annoying as hell by the way) and acting like she stays in her room all day analyzing the musical composition of the Buzzcocks or the Clash; I just want to shake her and someone needs to tell her that her father is Billy Ray Cyrus not Joey Ramone. Party in the U.S.A Was a good new first single.
But I would love to see something more from Miley.

A lot of people don't write their own music and still have successful singing careers, so that's not a good basis oto judge whether or not she'll be big. Having said that, I do not think she has Justin's talent in any area--singing, dancing, or acting. I do like Party in the USA, but overall I do not think her voice has as much range as JT's, and I see nothing exceptional in her performing skills.
