Natalie Rocks the Trump Cut

I"m really hoping that this is just a wig on Natalie Portman, because she was looking so cute in her curls last week in NY. She's on some reshoots for Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium in Toronto, so I do believe that my hopes are true. Not that Natalie can't totally kick ass in short hair (we know she can, of course), but this particular 'do is a little more school boy than I like on her.

Natalie's a Wonder at Mr. Magorium's Premiere

Natalie Portman looked absolutely stunning in pink at the NYC premiere of Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium last night. Dustin Hoffman looks like he agrees that his costar knocked it out of the park last night with a red carpet cheek kiss. Unfortunately, her hot boy wasn't by her side for the screening. But in brighter news the Target dog was also in the house, so there. While whimsical kid-y movies don't usually appeal to me, something about this one looks totally endearing. Perhaps it's because everything Natalie touches turns to cute (you know, other than all those really intense movies she's made).

Is Natalie's Life Going Live?

Natalie has been very busy lately - first she was promoting her new movie, then she launched her charity project and earlier this week she was working on reshoots for Mr. Magoo. We love Natalie and rumor has it pretty soon we may be able to get our fix on a daily basis. Apparently Natalie is in Silicon Valley this week pitching a continuous video feed of her life and humanitarian work to be broadcast via the internet! We're having a hard time believing this one since she's a pretty private person as far as celebs go, but if The Natalie Portman Show does get launched you can bet we'll be tuning in.

Condensed Sugar: Quickie Jail Stay & Weekend Getaway

This week the adorable Rachel Bilson guest starred on Chuck, hung out with Ben Affleck and supported her maybe-man Hayden Christensen at the Awake premiere. LL added to her mugshot collection and Christina proudly showed off her baby bump. Jake and Reese continued their public love fest with a weekend of love! Here's what else went down:

After lots and lots of shopping in LA, Lindsay Lohan checked in and then checked right out of jail.
Beyonce jetted from South Korea to NYC to celebrate the success of Jay-Z's latest number one album.
Christina Aguilera, who is reportedly having a boy, had her first baby shower, visited the doctor's office and partied at Kitson.
It was another week of legal woes for Britney Spears, who might have failed her drug tests and spent some time with her boys before the court decided she can't drive with them anymore. We also saw what might have been at the VMAs.
Jessica Simpson was in NYC where she co-hosted The View and did lunch, but we wondered if her career affects her love life.
Kate Bosworth and her boyfriend James were also in NYC, first hitting up a party for Clive Davis and then heading out to dinner before joining the fun at 7th on Sale.
Reese and Jake left LA to visit SF! They took their romantic trip up north to Napa, before heading back home.
Natalie Portman looked adorable as usual at the premiere of Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, TRL, and within the pages of this month's In Style.

Natalie Portman Has No Problem Dying

Natalie Portman's photoshoots have been high on the cute factor lately, posing with puppies and riding around on bikes. They fit right in with the theme of her new movie Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, but this Sunday's The New York Times Style Magazine showcases a different side of the star. Natalie has always seemed like one of Hollywood's more mature young stars, and this article and photoshoot are no exception. Here are highlights:

On growing up:
"I was once told that the age you are is the age you were when you became who you are. Does that mean I am perpetually 11? I'm not sure I want to have that strict an image. In the movie business, there is such a temptation to stick with a particular persona. There is a kind of artistic branding."
On shaving her head:
"Being bald was great, but the regrowth was the problem. My hair is very curly, and I'd have to have someone iron it if I wanted it to be straight. There was a lot of head-burning. And I started craving hair. I wanted to feel like a girl again."
On death scenes:
"I've died many times. I died in Closer, but they changed the ending and, miraculously, I lived. I also died in Star Wars and in Cold Mountain. Death scenes are not more difficult than other scenes. It's much harder to laugh than cry. I find it so hard to fake laughing. I have no laugh except my own, and that laugh is very particular, very modern. It's hard to make any other laugh sound real. It's like sneezing: you really only have one sneeze."

Life Lessons From Natalie Portman

The usually impeccably gorgeous Natalie Portman looks a little off in the coverspread of this weekend's Parade Magazine. Maybe it's her hair? I've been loving her grown out locks, but something about this ages her too much. With the endearingly precious Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium hitting theaters in a few weeks Natalie shared a few of the life lessons she has learned in her wise, wise 26 years. Including her regret over one revealing scene in Goya's Ghosts that in the end wasn't even her. Here's highlights:

On growing up famous: The summer after seventh grade, I shot my first movie, The Professional. Looking back, I realize that I might not have been that sensitive when I told people about it, and it came off as bragging. I was going to a small private school, and the other kids completely turned against me. No one would talk to me. I was so miserable that I had to change schools. But it made me think about how what I say affects other people, and I corrected my bravado.
On trusting her decisions, and that regret: I’ve always been something of a pleaser: I want to make other people happy. That’s not the worst thing. I mean, the fact that you like people and want them to like you is great-as long as you’re not sacrificing who you are. I’m not someone who has a lot of regrets, but last year I did something that I wasn’t comfortable with, and I’m really sorry I didn’t listen to my intuition. There was a scene in a movie that felt inappropriate for me, but I didn’t want to make waves. So I let myself get talked into it, even though it shook me up. From now on, I’m going to trust my gut more. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is say “no.” No matter how much you plan and how hard you try, you can’t predict the outcome of things.

As expected, Natalie sounds like she's got a great head on her shoulders and could teach a thing or two to her contemporaries. Just think, she's only in her mid-20s...and she's already corrected the silly mistakes of her youth. Sigh, kinda little miss perfect.

Natalie Not So Nude After All

Natalie looked cute and casual like always this weekend in NYC. Seems like she had a day of fun in Central Park with some pint-sized friends, even if one of them seems a lot more interested in the latest Harry Potter book than playing with Natalie. The a-list actress isn't one to get caught going out panytless like many of her peers but apparently Natalie will show some skin in her newest movie, Goya's Ghosts. She said, "There's a long shot of a nude woman... It's not me. You do see some parts of me unclothed, but if they end up on Web sites making it look like I'm nude, I'm going to be really, really angry." Natalie just disappointed men everywhere.

This November Natalie has Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium hitting theaters. It looks like a fun fantasy film with Dustin Hoffman and Jason Bateman. To check out the latest trailer, click here.

Portman is No Prostitute

Natalie Portman has declared she will not sell herself out like some other pimping Hollywood girls. She said:

â€œI donâ€™t want to be working for money because then you are no different [from] a prostitute,â€? Portman told Britainâ€™s Independent newspaper. But Portman, who also starred in such flicks as â€œStar Wars: Episode II â€“ Attack of the Clones,â€? says that her friends and family keep her from selling out. â€œI have the most amazing friends in the world, who are doing such interesting and different things, and are their own people,â€? Portman said. â€œThey are my support base along with my parents. They are inspiring and always doing different, interesting things so I remember how to be a person by being around them.â€?

She is just so cute and smart. I watched Garden State a little this weekend while unpacking from my move. Not only is that soundtrack so amazing, her character is so cute you just have to fall in love with her. Here's a cute pic of Natalie People had on their site. It is from Thursday when she was in Toronto getting ready for her latest film, Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, which about a mysterious toy store.
