Drew Denies Dave Another Birthday Dance

Drew stopped by David Letterman the other night to promote Music and Lyrics. The two got to reminisce about her infamous appearance on the show back in 1995 when she gave David a birthday dance he will never forget. David says he holds that night close to his heart and often brings it up with his friends. Here's more:

"I remember celebrating your birthday one year," said Barrymore, who turns 32 on Feb. 22.

"That was great," replied Letterman, who will be 60 on April 12. "Now is there a chance that you might do anything like that again?"

Barrymore said that's not likely.

"Turning 32, I think I'm not a different person 'cause I'm certainly, you know, as wild and free-spirited as ever, but I'm just really glad I had that opportunity and got that out of my system, because I'm not so sure if …"

"… You don't think you'd do it now is what you're saying," Letterman said.

A seemingly wistful Letterman thanked Barrymore for the water cooler moment.

"I'm very grateful for the opportunity. It was lovely," he said. "And it's still something I think about and talk about and tell my friends."

It may sound creepy, but if you watch the clip from last night he's obviously just teasing her about causing such a stir. It's still hard to imagine that the Drew seen here is the same Drew as the wild child from back in the 90s. I remember watching that clip like it was yesterday. The Newly Single Drew Still Believes in Love

Drew and Hugh premiered Music and Lyrics in NY just in time for Valentine's Day. The duo look like a great match on the red carpet together so we can only imagine what they are like onscreen. The film itself is a standard romantic comedy, a genre in which Drew excels, but even she knows that the stories aren't always entirely realistic. Here's more:

You know, sometimes I worry,” says Drew Barrymore, “I think, Am I working in a trade that fools people, especially girls, into thinking that this is what real life is going to be like?”

Well, of course she is-and she’s cool with that in the end.

“I do weirdly think that life can be like that,” she adds. “I think the best thing in the world is ‘the run’ in a movie, where a man realizes that he wants the woman and he runs toward her. That run to me is like-that happens in real life. I mean, it doesn’t happen in two hours. You still have to figure out how to work through each day, but I do think there are moments in my life when it’s been like the exact epitome of a great love story.”

It's always refreshing to hear Drew talk about love. While we bet that she won't be without a man for too long, in the meantime we're happy to watch her fall in love on the big screen. As for her new straight hair look, I am not a huge fan. I love the free flowing Drew and this version, while still pretty, is a little too done up for me. Drew's a Romantic Optimist

Drew was all smiles and bangles last night at the LA premiere of Music and Lyrics. Even the adorable single Adam Brody came out of hiding. Of course just because these two are single doesn't mean anything is going on. We just bring it up since Drew seems to be talking a lot about her single days since her recent split with Fabrizio. You just have to love her attitude on the whole situation. Perhaps she is setting an example for Cameron. People reports:

Asked what's the best thing about the single life, Barrymore, 31, told PEOPLE at Wednesday's Hollywood premiere of her new romantic comedy Music and Lyrics: "Just look at my face – I can't stop smiling!" So it isn't scary at all? "No! I'm very happy."

Barrymore, who recently split with Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti, continued, "I think it's important to give someone your heart and trust them and not be cynical. At the same time, I think being independent and strong and happy on your own and by yourself, it's probably what will make you a better lover. Because you'd be less needy. So I'm for both."

When asked if dating in Hollywood is tough, Barrymore said, "I think it's the same for everybody. Inter-office dating is as challenging as inter-Hollywood dating. It's a small school, small town. We are forced to be in these circles. There are little seas and those are the fish we swim around. I wish everyone good luck in love because it ain't easy, anywhere. But it can be found, and I am an absolute romantic and an optimist."

A V-Day with Pals (or Zach Braff?) is Up Drew's Alley

Drew looks so retro with her Ray-Ban Wayfarers and 80's headphones. Quite a different look than the one she sported the night before at the London premiere for Music and Lyrics. With Valentine's Day rapidly approaching, Drew is happy to talk about how not-unhappy it makes her to just spend the saccharine holiday with friends rather than a lovahh. Here's more:

"I don't know what I'm doing, but [I'm] probably going to go bowling with all my girlfriends," Barrymore told reporters Monday night at the London premiere of her movie Music and Lyrics – which opens on Feb. 14.

Wearing a strapless John Galliano dress custom-made for her, Barrymore, 31, said that hanging out with her pals "is just a fantastic time. I love my girlfriends and we love going to dinners and movies and playing games at home or with wine."

That's all well and good, but new rumors are surfacing that Drew may, in fact, be attached to a new man. Sources say that Drew was looking might-ty cozy with Zach Braff at the SNL post-party. Awww, sounds like someone might be getting an extra special mix CD for V-Day. I mean, there is a new Shins's album after all.

Hugh Helps Drew Dry Her Tears - with Beer

Drew and Hugh are in London promoting their film Music and Lyrics which comes out in the states on Valentine's Day. It's your traditional cute romantic comedy so of course you know what happens after that - in the movie anyway. In real life Drew and Hugh became close as well. She also happened to be going through some personal problems which she wouldn't specify (but we're thinking it has to do with a certain ex boyfriend who's been seen in the company of Kirsten Dunst lately). But she says that Hugh was always right there for her with kind words - and a beer. Here's more:

"I had one very hard day on the set. He came round and put his arm round me and he said, 'Are you alright?' "He just, like, took me to his trailer, sat me down, put a beer in my hand and said, 'Talk, I'm here for you. What's going on?' I just thought, 'What a lovely person you are, Hubert.'"

These two seem like a great match on the big screen. Sure he's a little older but she was seen making out with Bruce Willis after the Golden Globes so she obviously doesn't have a problem with that. To check out the comedic chemistry between these two in this great trailer just read more

Hugh Comes Back to Work

Drew and Hugh are still hard at work on the set of their new film Music and Lyrics. Hugh took a break from acting but lucky for us he's back. He said , "I haven't done very much work. I did slightly lose interest," he added, "but then I got bored. I got bored with being bored, so I am back." Well, it looks like Drew is keeping him pretty entertained for the time being.

Hugh and Drew Make Sweet Music Together

Drew and Hugh were busy in NY this weekend on the set of Music and Lyrics. The film is about a washed up singer played by Hugh who is given a chance to write a hit song for a teenage pop star. The problem is, he's never written a lyric before in his life. Drew plays another songwriter who he teams up with. It's a romantic comedy, so you can guess what happens next. We've seen them on the set back in March so we're guessing they are doing some re-shoots to make the movie even more fabulous for the Valentine's Day weekend opener in 2007.

Britney Makes the Most of Her Time at Home

Britney Spears has a break between legs of her Circus tour, and she was back home in LA yesterday making a quick trip to her local Target. She spent the weekend in Las Vegas with Jason Trawick with her boys, and she'll resume shows in Australia on November 6. Even though she has the next two weeks off from performing, we're still hearing music from Brit - her new single, "3," just dropped and you guys seem to be loving it. The suggestive lyrics have people blushing over her usual outwardly sexual themes, but that's the Britney we love especially when she's keeping it all together in her personal life too.

Salma and Valentina Feel the Love From Prince

Salma Hayek carried a sleepy Valentina through LAX on Friday. The girls are frequent jet-setters with Francois-Henri being based in Paris, though Valentina doesn't seem to let their travels interfere with her napping schedule. She's pretty precious and even Prince has taken notice. One of the songs on his upcoming album is titled "Valentina," with lyrics that compliment Salma's curves. He and Salma have been pals ever since she directed one of his music videos a few years ago and she apparently left quite the impression.

John Mayer Has a Dad Day Afternoon

John Mayer spent the afternoon with his father in Santa Monica yesterday before hitting the red carpet with fellow musical men last night. It's sweet since between his Mayercraft carrier exhibitions, rumor-starting lyrics, and overanalyzed Twitter, it's been a while since we've seen down-to-earth John. He was among the celebs skewered in Eminem's new video, but if anyone can take a joke or a little friendly teasing it's jokester John.
