Kate, Dane and Jason Premiere Their Best Friend's Girl

It was all laughs at the LA premiere of My Best Friend's Girl last night. Kate Hudson, Dane Cook and Jason Biggs looked like they kept it light showing off their romantic comedy. Bubbly Kate Hudson rolled solo in her little dress while Dane Cook showed off quite the slicked back 'do. Only newlywed Jason brought a date, his new wife Jenny Mollen. The movie hits theaters this weekend so we'll see if it can wrangle the No. 1 box office spot from Burn After Reading thanks to this funny trio including this famous beautiful blonde.

Tom Gives Us the Details on Gisele and More Babies

Tom Brady and his blue eyes are on the cover of September's Details. He sat down with the magazine to chat about Gisele, saying that they were set up on blind date by a friend who said she was a "girl version" of Tom. Tom says Gisele's dog runs the household, also revealing his thoughts on kids and life in general. Here's more:

On his and Gisele's fame: "I think my wife and I, we probably enjoy staying home more than most . . . I'm glad they didn't have those camera phones seven or eight years ago [referring to his wilder single days]. When I go out now, I just watch what I'm doing."
On wanting more kids: "You march to your own beat for so long. It's like, an hour commitment used to be a big commitment, and now you chase a little boy around for eight hours a day, waiting to catch him if he falls and changing his dirty diaper. You think, How crazy is this? I want a lot of kids. I'd love four or five. We'll see. It's not always my decision."
On Bridget being pregnant while he dated Gisele: "That's not how you envisioned your life, that's not how you envisioned having children, but it happens. But you're not talking about a tragic event. You're talking about a life. It's what happens. And that's forced me to grow up in a lot of ways, and in a lot of ways I've learned about the people around me, learned about my wife and about how important she is in my life, through this. You see what she's really about. Because that's not what she wanted either. But once again, it's . . . I just don't think . . . life is not what everyone . . . Life is not living in the suburbs with a white picket fence. That's not life. Somehow our American culture has made it out that that's what life needs to be - and that if it's not that, it's all screwed up. It's not. You go through life and you try the best you can."

Jennifer Shows Sexy Skin & Embraces Her Lonely Girl Status

Jennifer Aniston struck some hot poses and showed off her abs for Elle's September issue. The actress opens up to the magazine about the "brick walls" she had to break through during her childhood, and addresses her label as "the lonely girl." Here are some highlights:

On being labeled the "lonely girl": "I'm not going to ignore the pink elephant in the living room. It's fine. I can take it. [I'm fully supportive of] anybody who is in a place that's not their strongest [but] is ready to push forward. If I'm the emblem for 'this is what it looks like to be the lonely girl getting on with her life,' so be it. I can make fun of myself. And I'll bring it up as long as the world is bringing it up."
On her mother's honesty: "I remember being 7 and asking my mom if I was as pretty as [my best friend] Monique. And with all the love in the world, my mom looked at me and said, 'Oh, honey, you're so funny.' So, she doesn't lie to me . . . She answers the question by not answering and instead tells me what she thinks is my greatest strength."
On her parents marriage: "[My parents made each other laugh] like nobody's business. I put a lot of value in that at a very young age. [The hardest part was] my dad walking out and not seeing him for a year and not knowing where he was . . . Trying to understand, 'Where did that person go?'"

Halle Talks About Nahla and Her Hot "Nanny" Gabriel

Halle Berry brought gifts while visiting a friend yesterday in LA. She was rolling solo without Nahla and Gabriel Aubry, who's doing phenomenally in our new shirtless bracket competition. In a recent interview, Halle talked about her sexy model boyfriend, reiterated her stance against marriage, and mentioned again her desire to have another baby. Here's more:

On not marrying Gabriel: "We clicked instantly. And yes, he’s not at all bad on the eyes. . . I’m so not the relationship go-to girl. But I’m much clearer about what a relationship is, which is why I will never marry again. Gabriel and I have a great partnership and a lovely daughter. But I once was stupid enough to say, in a previous relationship, 'I’m going to be with this person forever,' and realized, as I grew, that I don’t know if forever is possible. Gabriel and I don’t look at our relationship in terms of forever, we look at it as right here today. And today means being the best people we can be, the best parents we can be. It’s wonderful, but neither one of us feels the need to attach ourselves to each other for life – because it may not be that."
On taking care of Nahla: "When I’m not filming, I’m pretty hands-on with Nahla, and so is Gabriel; so much so that he’s my nanny – that’s what I tell him. I’m just kidding. But we work together so well on the childcare."
On balancing work with motherhood: "Motherhood will always be my priority now, especially because I had a child for the first time at 41. My priority had been myself for a long, long time, but now it will always be Nahla. You think you know what love is – until you have a child and discover that unconditional mother love. I believe that in order to be a good parent, I’ve got to be happy myself, and making movies is my form of expression – so I will find a way to balance the two."

Madonna Keeps Up Her Fight For Mercy

Madonna and her daughter Lourdes were hand-in-hand yesterday at Heathrow airport. The girls arrived in London with David and Rocco last week after their trip to Malawi to adopt Mercy James. Along with her legal appeal, this weekend she e-mailed the country's The Nation newspaper to explain her motives. She wrote:

"I want to provide Mercy with a home, a loving family environment and the best education and healthcare possible. And it's my hope that she like David, will one day return to Malawi and help the people of their country. . . Though I have been advised that I cannot publicly discuss the pending appeal regarding my desire to adopt Mercy, I do want to say how much I appreciate the level of support that I have received from the people of Malawi and my friends around the world."

It seems as though time is of the essence, as Mercy is said to have gone into hiding while the paternity claims of a man who say he's her father are investigated. Madonna is lucky to be surrounded by great friends during this time, and for the sake of Mercy, hopefully, the lawsuit is settled quickly and in her best interests.

RIP Bea Arthur

Bea Arthur passed away today at her LA home with family by her side. The actress best known as Dorothy on The Golden Girls was 86 years old and had been battling cancer. Dan Watt, Bea's personal assistant and family spokesman said, "She was a brilliant and witty woman. Bea will always have a special place in my heart." Our hearts go out to her family and friends at this difficult time.

Victoria Is Dressed to Impress and Sell Dresses in the UK

Victoria Beckham arrived in London today transported by an Air Harrods helicopter. Surrounded by friends, Victoria was definitely showing off some of that street style she's famous for, looking ready to make appearances in the UK to promote her dress collection. She recently granted an interview to chat about her line, opening up about her well-mannered boys, her career, and her famous American pals. Here's more:

On getting ready to debut her collection: "I was so nervous that for days before I drank loads and loads of water. God, I'm square.”
On avoiding rumors: "I'm just really happy. I wake up every morning and I think I'm so blessed. I don't read the stuff that's written about us. I'm not interested in gossip. Some of the people that I'm friends with in America - you know, Tom and Katie - they get it too and we laugh about all these stupid things."
On doing things her way: "I don't really care what people think. I never made friends easily. For years, when I was in the Spice Girls, those were my four best friends and we stuck up for each other. Now I've got David. Nothing has ever come particularly naturally to me. It's made me a hard worker and very disciplined. I get that from my dad."

On her career's evolution: "Being in the Spice Girls, fashion-wise probably didn't open any doors. If anything it shut doors and I've had to bang them down.”
On her design process: "I put it all on myself and walk around in it, and I know what feels comfortable. I know how a dress should sit. I've worn so many in the past and when I see the photographs I think, crikey, my boobs are up round my neck again because the corsets are too short and not cut high enough. Like I knew I would spend a lot on the best-quality zips because, like many women, I've had my share of crappy zips. I wanted a zip that undoes from both ends because then you can either put the dress on over your head or, if you don't want to mess up your hair, you can step into it - and also, you know, going to the loo wouldn't be this whole big palaver."

It's always a treat to hear Victoria open up about her family and friends, and it's great to hear her cracking jokes and being her fun self. With her boys in LA and David in New Zealand, it looks like she's got lots of friends around to keep her happy and busy while she's in the UK.

PopSugar Exclusive Interview with Lauren Conrad

When we caught up with Lauren Conrad, the sunny California starlet was relaxing in her home we all know so well from The Hills. Lauren was friendly and down to earth, which was just what we expected from the everyday girl gone famous who we've watched grow up over the past five years. She stopped mid-sentence to ask Lo what music they've been listening to and walked over to her fridge - around boxes from her basement flooding that morning! - to look in and tell us what was inside. With a hit show, fashion collection, and growing resume, this girl from the small town of Laguna Beach has grown up, landing her at the number 25 spot on the 2008 PopSugar 100. We talked about the highlights of this year and other fun things like fashion, food, fitness, friends, and cute Chloe.

PopSugar: Can you describe some of the highlights of your past year?
Lauren Conrad: I would say the biggest highlight is the launch of my line. I also bought my own house, which was exciting. The show is going really well, that’s nothing new but that’s been kind of exciting.

PS: We just read recently that you thought Laguna Beach was going to be a one-time documentary?
LC: Yeah when they originally asked us to do it it was called the “Unrestricted High School Project” and I thought it was just one episode. They said they were really interested in the fact that we had all grown up together in a small town and we were all really a close-knit group of people, and they wanted to do a small documentary on a group of friends, so that was kind of what we signed up for. It’s funny, you see the little pilots that they showed us initially and it looks nothing like the end of the show.

PS: Wow really? And when did they say, "We are going to make this a full-blown TV series"?
LC: We all signed up to do this little pilot that no one has ever seen except for us - I don’t even know what they did with it. They showed it to us and we were like, "Oh this looks great" and then they said, "It got picked up" so that is when they started shooting and it kind of became what it has and no one really realized what it was until we all got sent the first episode, right before it aired!

PS: What has it been like for the show to have become so successful?
LC: I think I have been pretty lucky that it happened gradually because the mood kind of started out pretty small and then it slowly got bigger, I mean none of us were really expecting it, it was crazy for us then, and since then it slowly escalated, but since it has been slowly it has been kind of nice. It allowed us time to process it.

PS: Was there ever a time when you woke up and were like, "Whoa, this is all happening to me?"
LC: Yeah, I think we had just graduated and the first season had just began airing and I was at a game with a couple of my guy friends and a little girl saw my friend Stephen and pulled out her inhaler. I think it was at that moment - it really freaked me out too, I was like I think we might have signed up for something bigger than we thought!
PS: [Laughs] Did she recover?
LC: Yeah she did she was fine, but I mean it was weird to see someone have that sort of reaction to someone you have known your whole life.

PS: So going back through this past year do you think there are any lessons you have learned or something that you’re going to take away?
LC: I think that in the past year I have really gotten a chance to see who my true friends are and who is going to be there for me, you know, no matter what? Like Lo is one of my best friends from high school, and Audrina obviously has always been there for me, and I think that when it gets to a point when it's almost too much that’s when those people are there for you.

PS: If you could go back to a year ago and tell yourself some advice, what would it be?
LC: It would be that I’m never going to please everybody so I should just give up now [laughs]. I mean you can waste so much energy trying to make everyone happy, but at the end of the day it's impossible to please everyone, so you just need to focus on what makes you happy.

PS: What does sort of a typical day look like for you?
LC: They are all kind of different, this week is crazy because we have a photo shoot every single day. Except Wednesday I am not the model, I’m shooting my resort lookbook and I have to be there all day, so those are actually even longer, it's almost more work when you are not the model - it's like an 11 or 12 hour day. I mean normally we film a few days out of the week and other days we are kind of doing other stuff, just the other things we work on in our lives, we keep pretty busy.

PS: So the interview we talked about with Laguna Beach being a documentary, because of the editing, you also said you are actually a lot happier than the show makes you look? So we are wondering what are the things we are missing out on as viewers that make you happy?
LC: It’s not like the Real World, in that show they put a bunch of people in a house with tons of booze and see what happens. In The Hills, if one of us has too much to drink, they drive us home. So that’s the difference, they don’t want us to get smashed on camera, they don’t want us to be train wreaks, they focus on the parts of our lives that are actually more interesting.

PS: Have you ever come across anyone in all of your nights out that made you really starstruck? Any fun celebrities?
LC: Actually yeah, I met Marc Jacobs when we were filming and I got so nervous when I saw him that I didn’t really know what to do, but I was trying to act cool, but I didn’t even stand up to shake his hand, I actually came off a little bit too cold, like I didn’t really care and I felt kind of bad. I get really starstruck over really random people and designers.

PS: George Clooney or Brad Pitt?
LC: Better with age.
PS: Matt Damon or Ben Affleck?
LC: I don’t know! I like Matt Damon more I think.
PS: Katie Holmes or Victoria Beckham?
LC: Frowns! You don’t see them smile!
PS: Dawson’s Creek, The OC or Gossip Girl?
LC: Gossip Girl! I love it.
PS: Do you prefer bags or shoes?
LC: Oh, shoes!

LC: Both actually, mostly PC but I like Mac to edit photos or art

LC: I hate them both! But probably sit-ups

PS: No, I haven’t
LC: It’s really vulgar but a lot of my guy friends were frat guys so I get the humor.
PS: What is your favorite TV show?
LC: Gossip Girl.
PS: What are some of your guilty pleasures TV wise?
LC: I don’t really watch that much TV, but I will wait until whole seasons are over and then download the whole thing on iTunes because I’m really impatient. I just started watching Greek and I used to be obsessed with Grey's Anatomy, but it’s kind of dying for me. I mostly end up watching Sex and the City reruns actually.

PS: Do you ever Google your dates?
LC: Yeah, all of them! But I don’t believe everything I read though. I Google pictures to see ex-girlfriends and stuff [laughs].
PS: Do you have any dating advice?
LC: Probably just have fun with it, I never take dates too seriously. Oh and I don’t kiss on a first date.

PS: What is your favorite cocktail?
LC: Depends where, I have a favorite cocktail at every place.
PS: Do you go with the specialty drinks at every bar?
LC: Yeah, I like to try a lot of different things everywhere we go. I’ll usually order whatever their specialty drink is with vodka, but for an everyday drink I usually just drink vodka and soda water.

PS: If we opened your fridge right now what would we find?
LC: I can actually tell you, I’m just wandering around my house right now. It’s filled with boxes because my basement flooded this morning. There's leftover grilled vegetables, berries, and vitamins… yeah that is pretty much it! We don’t have too much in there because it goes bad. We have berries and such to snack on, but if we are really hungry there are tons of restaurants all around us.

PS: How’s Chloe?
LC: Chloe actually just got back from puppy boot camp because she wasn’t learning anything, but now she is. She still eats everything but she is good!
PS: Do you enjoy having a puppy?
LC: Yeah, she is great. She just eats my shoes. She has eaten a couple pairs literally out of the box too! I never even got to wear them.

PS: What is your favorite perfume?
LC: I have a lot of different perfumes, but I really like Dior Miss Cherie, or Marc Jacobs. I also wear Michael Kors and for everyday I wear Kai, which is a sort of gardenia scent.
PS: Do you have any interest in doing your own perfume?
LC: Not really. I think it’s kind of weird to want to smell like someone, but I don’t know - it could be fun to do like a line of them, not just a personal scent.

PS: Do you ever look back on a hair or makeup style and think, “What was I thinking?”
LC: Most of them, yeah! I used to have bleached blonde hair - Lo and I both - and we burned all of the pictures. They were really bad!
PS: So they won’t end up online?
LC: I think a few of are, but all the personal ones we got rid of.

PS: Do you have any Summer must have items?
LC: Sunscreen. I use a lot less of everything during the Summer - less makeup and almost no hair products. Summer is a little more natural I feel like. I think good bikinis because it's summer!

PS: We've seen you going to the gym a lot lately.
LC: Yeah I started again, its really hurting me!
PS: What is your routine at the gym?
LC: I just started doing more kickboxing which is really fun, and the way [my trainer] does it it's like a full body workout. Like squat, lunge, squat, lunge, or lower punches. It’s really like a full body workout, but I do a half hour of kickboxing and then he has me just do weights. We also do running most days and Chloe likes it.

PS: If you could finish this sentence, “I can’t live without my…..”
LC: I can’t live without my friends.

PS: Do you have the premiere date of The Hills?
LC: Yeah, it’s in August sometime, they haven’t told me. A Monday in mid-August!

PS: Our readers are dying to know what happens this season!
LC: I haven’t seen any of it yet, but I kind of know what happens because I was there [laughs]. There is actually a lot of good stuff coming up which, luckily, has not been reported on. We are making a big effort to hide it - it's kind of weird, we can’t really talk about things that are happening on the show. Normally everyone already knows what happens, but this season most of it has stayed pretty quiet. Obviously some of the stuff has been reported on, but a lot of it is only half the story, so the show kind of clarifies things sometimes.

PS: Are you going to be at New York Fashion Week in September? Working or for fun?
LC: Yeah, right now I am planning on it, but I never know for sure. Kelly [Cutrone] hasn’t told us whether we are working yet or not. I will either have to go out with Kelly or I will just go out to see some of the shows.

Lauren also told us about her fun 4th of July and how busy life has been after returning from her recent break. She sounds happy and excited to have the opportunity to be living out her dreams all while trying to keep her newfound fame in perspective. After talking to the starlet, we're happy to report she still seems like that sweet girl from Laguna Beach High School, but certainly a bit wiser.

Jennifer Stops By Oprah To Talk Cake, Norman and Love

A very happy Jennifer Aniston was on Oprah today to catch up and talk about everything that has been rehashed this week - the Vogue interview, how Brad's doing these days, and her Angelina quotes. Jennifer admitted that she thinks the cover doesn't do the interview justice (we agree) and when asked whether she's dating John Mayer she answered "yes." She also denied pregnancy rumors and chatted with her costar Owen Wilson via satellite. The best part, other than Norman, might be her talking the election night cake that John blogged about earlier this week. Here's highlights:

On the election: "I'm so happy to be in Chicago. The energy coming here, you can feel [it]. It's just amazing. . . We knew it was getting closer and closer, and then it was that realization of 'Oh my God, this is such a historical moment. [The Obama cake] is not like it's my grandmother's ancient recipe from the old country-it's definitely a Duncan Hines. Don't mess with perfection."
On the Vogue cover: "The content [of the story] does not reflect the cover," she says. "[Jonathan] asked me a question, and I basically just answered it as honestly as I could."
On Marley & Me: "For the first time I'm not the girl wanting the guy. It was a portrait of a marriage, and it was just an important experience for me. I really loved every minute of it."The character Jennifer portrays represents many real women, she says. "You get to that place in your life and you realize, 'I have to make a choice,' because either your work is suffering or your children and your family are suffering," she says. "It's not just a happy dog movie. It really does touch on some life issues that are not necessarily fun."
On her dog Norman: "I think Norman, having now been on Oprah and being in Vogue magazine, I think I'm cutting him off."

Biggest Headlines of 2008: RIP Heath Ledger

We've been counting down the most shocking headlines of 2008, and we'll be revealing more throughout the month of December. We hope you enjoy this look back at some of the posts and stories that created the most buzz throughout the year.

On January 22, 2008 we all learned a lesson about the tragic side of fame when we learned Heath Ledger had passed away of an apparent overdose that morning. As fans old and new alike tried to make sense of it and scramble for bits of information, the heartbreaking truth set in: we had lost one of the greatest actors of our time. He was a father, a son, a partner. He was known as a devoted actor and a kind person. He is still missed, he will be missed.

By the end of the 22nd, the details were still unknown but there were many theories being floated - some about Mary-Kate Olsen, though her involvement was never confirmed and the investigation is closed. His death was ruled an accident. A lethal combination of prescription drugs was found in his body.

His friends and colleagues in Hollywood had only kind words and family released a statement saying: "Heath has touched so many people on so many different levels during his short life but few had the pleasure of truly knowing him. He was a down to earth, generous, kind-hearted, life-loving and selfless individual who was extremely inspirational to many."

Michelle released a heartbreaking statement saying, "My heart is broken. I am the mother of the most tender-hearted, high-spirited, beautiful little girl who is the spitting image of her father." In early February, Michelle joined Heath's family and loved ones for a beautiful celebration of his life and memorial service in Australia. It was the first most beautiful smile we saw on Michelle's face since the tragic loss.

We took a look back on his life through classic images and his fans - whether their favorite of his movies was 10 Things I Hate About You or Brokeback Mountain - reminisced about their favorite moments through tributes. There were hundreds of reasons, explanations and theories about why he passed away, but in the end the truth was just that he was gone too soon.

As the cold began to thaw in New York, we saw Michelle and Matilda emerge in Brooklyn for their happy walks and Michelle's carefully and radiantly stepped back onto the red carpet. In his hometown a theater was named in his honor, as was the scholarship set up in his name with Michelle making the first contribution.

In mid-July, The Dark Knight hit theaters to immense praise and broke box office record after box office record making upwards of $400 million already. It is slated for rerelease in early January 2009. Easily the most beloved movie of the Summer and perhaps best superhero movie of all time crowds gathered to see it again and again, constantly in awe of Heath's incredible performance.

The investigation into his death officially ended in early August, and in September his family chose to leave his estate to Matilda. Fellow actors Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell, the actors who took over Heath Ledger's role in his final movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus are donating their profits to Matilda.

Through his memorable performances especially The Dark Knight an Oscar contender, Heath's memory will not be forgotten. Michelle's grief breaks our hearts, but his beautiful mini me continues to grow and smile helping Heath's legacy live on.
