Natalie, Tobey, and Amanda Bring Family to See Brothers

Natalie Portman in brilliant blue stole the spotlight last night at a screening of Brothers in NYC. One of her two leading men, Tobey Maguire, joined her on the red carpet along with his wife Jennifer Meyer, though Jake Gyllenhaal missed the event. Amanda Peet was right by her husband David Benioff's side, supporting his latest screenwriting effort. Natalie was caught up in New Moon mania last week, but yesterday was all about her own upcoming project - check out the moving trailer before its release on December 4.

New Moon Cast Has a Big NY Finale Before Tonight's Opening!

The cast of New Moon trotted out for one more red carpet in NYC tonight. They all showed up to greet fans and press for a final special screening before the movie's official release tonight at midnight! Kristen rocked out in a green one shoulder dress to finish off her spectacular fashionable weeks - find out how to get New Moon star style here and take a look at the top five Twilight red carpet moments. Elizabeth Reaser and Ashley Greene both look fantastic amid some of their other celebrity attendees like Natalie Portman and Taylor Momsen.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen arrived together, but posed separately. Despite another exhausting day, Robert managed some smiles for the awaiting crowd who cheered big whenever they caught a glimpse. The rest of the men of the Twilight saga didn't look too shabby themselves! Natalie Portman Talks Sex and Nudity in V Magazine

Natalie Portman rocks a pompadour for a stylized shoot in the Winter's V Magazine, which hits newsstands today. She made her directorial debut this year with New York, I Love You, but in this issue Natalie chats about Brothers, her first on-screen sex scene, and how she hopes to maintain her youthful appearance without going under the knife. Here's more:

On why she waited to do a sex scene: "I was figuring out my own sexual identity, likes and dislikes and all that stuff, and it's weird to be doing stuff on film as you're figuring it out. Also being a sexual object when you're a kid is really uncomfortable. After The Professional, I was already getting creepy letters. It's annoying because online bullsh*t interferes with what I want to do artistically. I'm not opposed to sexuality or nudity in a film, but I'm very opposed to pornography sites and you're pretty much giving them material if you do any of that. It's always a big dilemma for me."
On keeping her personal life personal: "The formative time of my public image happened before there was Facebook, Twitter, all of those gossip sites. I had my own drunken nights and dating a million people, but there wasn't that attention then."
On maintaining beauty: "You see people who were stars five years ago and already they're waning. As actresses approach 40, it starts becoming really, really difficult."
On being successful: "To be successful you need the desire to be successful. Ambition can be a dirty word, but it's pretty much more important than anything."

Mila, Natalie and Emmy Make It a Starlet-y Night at the NY Ballet

It was a lovely evening for the ballet in NYC yesterday, as celebrities gathered at the Lincoln Center for the Fall Gala. Mila Kunis posed pretty with Natalie Portman, who is having quite the cultured week in the city after checking out Jude Law's official opening at Hamlet on Tuesday. The girls are starring as rival ballet dancers in the upcoming thriller Black Swan, so it's all in the name of research for Mila and Natalie. Emmy Rossum may be in the midst of divorcing her secret husband, but she's still happy to step out with her current boyfriend, Counting Crows's Adam Duritz. He has quite the history with beautiful women - Jennifer Aniston or Mary-Louise Parker, anyone? Joanna Garcia also stood out in her sexy red dress and has been adding some new excitement to Gossip Girl as Nate's star-crossed lover Bree.

Jude Has Star Support on His Broadway Hamlet Opening Night

Jude Law took the stage for Hamlet's official opening on Broadway last night. His show got great reviews during his run on London's West End earlier this year, and now he's ready to conquer New York audiences. He worked up a sweat and had some celebrity support for his big night including Natalie Portman who rushed through the red carpet and Ed Westwick who had his usual faces all ready for the cameras. Ed's famous expressions are just part of what landed him on Buzz's list of influential men on TV. Jude kept the celebration going right into the afterparty. His run goes until December 6 and then it's time to promote Sherlock Holmes, which may already have a sequel in the works.

Natalie Portman Pursues Love and Other Things in Toronto

Natalie Portman headed to Canada yesterday to join the fun at the Toronto Film Festival. She went casual in a white top in the afternoon for a press conference promoting her film Love and Other Impossible Pursuits, which we saw her filming last year back when it was called 17 Photos of Isabel. By evening Natalie was decked out in a pink Lanvin number to join costar Lisa Kudrow for a red carpet premiere. Natalie has been doing double duty promoting this movie and her forthcoming Brothers, and she's picked up a few unlikely fans. Her recent spread in Interview magazine, in which she confessed a love of obscene rap music, has apparently earned her the esteem of Ghostface Killah from the Wu-Tang Clan.

Jake and Natalie's Interview Involves Obscene Rapping

Natalie Portman looks sultry in black and white like Chace Crawford for the September issue of Interview. She is currently juggling multiple projects while also promoting her directorial debut in New York, I Love You. Her Brothers costar Jake Gyllenhaal conducted the interview and he got Natalie talking about her love of rap, My Little Ponies, and the optimistic way she views the recession. Here are some highlights:

On what song describes her current state: "My current state . . . I’m trying to think of a song that feels like sleepwalking. [laughs] I don’t know. I’ve mostly been listening to dirty rap lately. That’s sort of my scene . . . Really, really obscene hip-hop. I love it so much. It makes me laugh and then it makes me want to dance. Those are like my two favorite things, so combined . . . I’ve been listening a lot lately to 'Wait (The Whisper Song)' by the Ying Yang Twins, where the lyrics are like, 'Wait ’til you see my d*ck' - which is just amazing because it’s whispered. [whispers] 'Wait ’til you see my d*ck . . . ' [laughs] Crazy. So I just listen to it like I’m a five-year-old, like, 'Oh my god! I can’t believe he just said that!'"
On what skills she'd put on a job resume: "As far as skills go . . . I don’t have that many skills. [Jake: "Oh come on!"] I’m serious. I really wish I could make something. I mean, you’re a really good cook, you know how to build things - you can make things with your hands. I can’t make anything . . . Well, I can make chitchat, but not much else. I mean, I’d basically have trouble with any job that doesn’t require me to wear silly clothes and talk in funny voices . . . And so I’m an actor."

On the recession: "I think it’s kind of an exciting time. I mean, everyone is cutting back. It’s happening in every industry - including our own. But I think that’s going to translate into a situation where people aren’t motivated by money as much as they have been in the recent past. A lot of my friends from college went into fields like banking for financial reasons - obviously people have school loans and things to pay off. And now, all of a sudden, they’re doing jobs that they hate and they’re not making as much money as they thought they would or they’ve lost their jobs entirely. So I’ve started to see people looking more toward their own passions and what really excites them. Obviously it’s much easier to say that you’re going to follow your passions when you’re financially secure, but at least we can take solace in the fact that we now have the time to pursue the things that we really want to pursue because now the option of doing things just for the money isn’t necessarily there."

Natalie Portman Shoots Down Sean Rumors

Natalie Portman took a break from filming Hesher to address head on the rumors that she and Sean Penn are more than friends. She told Extra:

"Sean Penn is a friend and colleague. The reports that we are romantically involved are completely untrue. I normally do not respond to rumors about my private life, however, this repeatedly fabricated story has forced me to do so."

It's a rare step for Natalie to make such a public statement, so maybe if Sean ends up being a frequent guest at her new LA mansion, it's nothing worth raising eyebrows over.
