Leighton Meester is a splash of color in this weekend's New York Times Magazine. In addition to modeling a range of kaleidoscopic outfits, Leighton sits down for a special Q&A ahead of the spread's appearance in this Sunday's issue. She opens up about what's in store on Gossip Girl (spoiler alert!), her next career moves, and rumors about her family. Here's more:

On doing movies: "Well, first I'm going on a much-deserved vacation. Then I'm starting work on a comedy called Date Night with Steve Carell and Tina Fey. I play the babysitter and they go out for a date one night and everything goes awry. After that I'm starring in this crazy movie called The Roommate, which is directed by Christian Christiansen and is sort of a re-telling of Single White Female. I'm the emotionally detached narcissist, but it's early days and I still don’t know who’s playing the psycho opposite me."
On the rumors that she was born while her parents were in jail: "This is the type of thing that you can't be too sensitive about - it's not like I did anything that's worth talking about. I love my parents very much, but people either continue or break the patterns of what their life should be and I just want to completely break whatever patterns would lead me to the same life choices that they made."

On what happens to Blair next season: "It's yet to be decided, but I'm definitely going to college - to NYU - and not wearing any more school uniforms. Thank god we're not pretending we all get held back and just continue with high school like all those other high school shows. I guess I'll wear magnificent clothes every day that don't have anything to do with school."

Leighton's schedule is going to be jam-packed now that she also has a new single and an upcoming album to promote, so hopefully she makes the most of her upcoming getaway.

Jennifer Aniston Still Has Fond Feelings For Friends

Last week Jennifer Aniston got sexy for Vogue, but this week we just get a playful head shot for her New York Times Magazine cover. In the article Jen takes a little break from talking about Marley & Me and her personal life, and instead opens up about her other upcoming project and reflects on Friends. Here are highlights:

On her upcoming movie: "I wish it was She's Just Not That Into You! Unfortunately, it's He's Just Not That Into You. The other would be more empowering."
On watching reruns of Friends: "There are times I don’t even remember that particular show. This is horrible to say, but there are times when I laugh my rear end off. And I get in debates with people who are over and say, 'Friends' is not my thing.' Excuse you!"
On whether or not Friends would be a hit show today: "Hard to tell - that was a different time," Aniston says. "Now TV has too much to do with celebrity. We have reality television, where people try to become celebrities...."

Jen also revealed that she was nervous she'd never get any movie roles after being on a hit sitcom for so long, but with all her success it sounds like she's gone above and beyond her expectations.

She opened up about why she thinks Jennifer's Body didn't gain a lot of traction at the box office, as well as what she meant when she compared Michael Bay to Hitler. She also talked about her reputation, saying, "Women tear each other apart. Girls think I’m a slut, and I’ve been in the same relationship since I was 18. The problem is, if they think you’re attractive, you’re either stupid or a whore or a dumb whore. The instinct among girls is to attack the jugular. If I had been a typical starlet and said all the right things, I wouldn’t have escalated to this level." Natalie Portman Has No Problem Dying

Natalie Portman's photoshoots have been high on the cute factor lately, posing with puppies and riding around on bikes. They fit right in with the theme of her new movie Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, but this Sunday's The New York Times Style Magazine showcases a different side of the star. Natalie has always seemed like one of Hollywood's more mature young stars, and this article and photoshoot are no exception. Here are highlights:

On growing up:
"I was once told that the age you are is the age you were when you became who you are. Does that mean I am perpetually 11? I'm not sure I want to have that strict an image. In the movie business, there is such a temptation to stick with a particular persona. There is a kind of artistic branding."
On shaving her head:
"Being bald was great, but the regrowth was the problem. My hair is very curly, and I'd have to have someone iron it if I wanted it to be straight. There was a lot of head-burning. And I started craving hair. I wanted to feel like a girl again."
On death scenes:
"I've died many times. I died in Closer, but they changed the ending and, miraculously, I lived. I also died in Star Wars and in Cold Mountain. Death scenes are not more difficult than other scenes. It's much harder to laugh than cry. I find it so hard to fake laughing. I have no laugh except my own, and that laugh is very particular, very modern. It's hard to make any other laugh sound real. It's like sneezing: you really only have one sneeze."

Natalie Portman Talks Sex and Nudity in V Magazine

Natalie Portman rocks a pompadour for a stylized shoot in the Winter's V Magazine, which hits newsstands today. She made her directorial debut this year with New York, I Love You, but in this issue Natalie chats about Brothers, her first on-screen sex scene, and how she hopes to maintain her youthful appearance without going under the knife. Here's more:

On why she waited to do a sex scene: "I was figuring out my own sexual identity, likes and dislikes and all that stuff, and it's weird to be doing stuff on film as you're figuring it out. Also being a sexual object when you're a kid is really uncomfortable. After The Professional, I was already getting creepy letters. It's annoying because online bullsh*t interferes with what I want to do artistically. I'm not opposed to sexuality or nudity in a film, but I'm very opposed to pornography sites and you're pretty much giving them material if you do any of that. It's always a big dilemma for me."
On keeping her personal life personal: "The formative time of my public image happened before there was Facebook, Twitter, all of those gossip sites. I had my own drunken nights and dating a million people, but there wasn't that attention then."
On maintaining beauty: "You see people who were stars five years ago and already they're waning. As actresses approach 40, it starts becoming really, really difficult."
On being successful: "To be successful you need the desire to be successful. Ambition can be a dirty word, but it's pretty much more important than anything."

NPH Readies His Balancing Act For the Emmy Stage

Neil Patrick Harris has a big job on his hands hosting the Primetime Emmys this Sunday - don't forget to fill out your ballots on Buzz! - but the charm that landed him the gig and a nomination shines through in this New York Magazine profile. NPH reveals his passion for magic while also taking us through his unique career. We'll get a double dose of him next week since How I Met Your Mother returns on Monday - ICYMI, get a sneak peek here. In the magazine, NPH also talked about how he's navigated his way from being a young Hollywood star to openly gay in Hollywood. Plus, he has some sweet things to say about his longtime partner David Burtka. Here are highlights:

On his relationship with David: "We yin and yang very well. We’re both Geminis, but I, you can probably tell, I process what the options are, and figure out what to say, and he tends to just say what he is feeling. I’m just bowled over by him. He’s made my life exponentially more livable. He’s just-great. I’m his forever protector, and I’m happiest when he’s happy."
On being a child star: "I was a late bloomer, and when you’re a youngster, and you’re in the public, and people are recognizing you-it’s hard to behave normally. It was like a circus sideshow. You’d wear a hat and walk fast, because if someone recognized you, they’d shout your character’s name. And no one would come up-it was just like everyone was watching you, whatever you did."
On the decision to come out of the closet: "No one was ever old-school Hollywood, with a cigar in their mouth, saying 'You can’t do this, see! It’ll ruin your career, kid.' long as you’re representing yourself well, you’re making good choices for good reasons, all of the circumstantial things will vanish."
On being inspired by Danny from the Real World: New Orleans: "He was a unique entity at that time, as someone who was seemingly so confident in their own skin that they didn’t need to wear their sexuality, uh- Or to flaunt their sexuality? To be more of one thing or another. And I-it’s a personal thing, I suppose, but I personally responded to his lack of overt grandstanding. Again, tricky waters, because if I say something like ‘He didn’t wave flags,’ it sounds like I’m disrespecting people that do, who I think are tremendously important, but there’s more than one way to get into people’s psyches. Oh, he was very sexy, but everyone thought so. One wants to be sexy to everyone...As Barney, I get to make out with all sorts of girls. And I’m allowed to say that women are sexy and not have them say, 'That’s not true!' But I’m now in a really fun position, where I can tell a guy that he’s sexy, and most aren’t put off by that."

Chace Stays in Control of His Interviews

Chace Crawford slicked his hair back and put on a few temporary tattoos for the upcoming issue of Interview. He's currently filming the new season of Gossip Girl, but Chace found time to chat with the magazine about his privacy, his many fans, and life with his old roommate Ed Westwick. Here's more:

On deciding to live with Ed Westwick: "I wanted to live in a really nice building, and he really didn’t care. I also didn’t want to be paying an arm and a leg for rent . . . Ed’s girlfriend was in town most of the time for the pilot we shot in ’07. So we hung out a little bit and talked about getting a place. We talked to Penn, too, but he had shot a show in New York before and was living, I think, with Milo Ventimiglia. Penn said, 'No, but good luck. I’m over the roommate situation.' So I called up Ed and was like, 'Hey, man, I’m going to New York tomorrow. Do you want to room with me?' He’s like [faking British accent], 'Yeah, why not?' So I looked around and sent him a few pics of the place I found and he said [faking British accent], 'Is there any extra room for guest bedrooms?' I was like, 'What are you talking about? This is New York. What do you want, a game room? Let’s just make space for a ping-pong room as well.' [laughs] Ed had no idea. But the apartment was in a nice building, and it had a great roof deck. We’d hang out up there all the time with our friends, and it was private."

About fan overload while filming: "You’re having a serious conversation, looking someone in the eye, but everywhere around you, it’s literally a circus. Sometimes I sit back and laugh. . . It’s funny because everyone wants to know what’s happening on set. There isn’t anything shocking to write about, so magazines want to stir things up, like, 'Blake and Leighton hate each other.' But the truth is, when we’re all done with work, it’s like, 'Hey, what are you doing? Let’s go do karaoke.' The publicity factor is outrageous. They just want to shoot you down. So that can definitely wear on you a bit. A perception of you is created, and you really have no control over it. To some degree, you learn to adapt. But you also think, 'Eff you, you don’t know me.'"
On his personal life: "I’m the biggest believer in not talking. I don’t Twitter or MySpace or Facebook. I want to keep to myself. I don’t want to be out there. You have to keep some kind of control over who you are."

Gamer Ashley Is Surprised She Didn't End Up Like Britney

We already got a peek at Ashley Olsen's appearance in September's Marie Claire, and now there are more images from her photo shoot, plus quotes from her interview. Ashley talked to the magazine about her love of fashion and the pressures of fame during childhood. She said:

On pressure she and Mary-Kate faced in childhood: "I look back at the things that we did and the clothes that we wore, and I think, 'Wow, we really were troupers.' It was almost like I was in the army. School, work, homework, fly to New York, get in at 2 in the morning, do a morning show at 5 am, then another one at 7, then a radio interview at 10, you know? ... That's why I look at Britney, and I'm surprised I didn't end up like her."
On their fashion sense: "I think you're either born with a sense of style or you're not. Either you care or you don't. And we love fashion. When we were going to NYU, I think that was the first time we were aware of the power of our personal style. Not the power of it, but the result of it. Between the big sunglasses and the Starbucks cup and the big sweaters, the hobo-chic thing, we were more shocked than anything [by the media coverage]. I get it; we were fortunate enough to have really nice clothes, and we put them together in this raggedy way. My mom wears glasses this big"-she mimes massive goggles-"from the '70s, and you wonder where we got it from?"
On winding down with Rock Band and her boyfriend: "I swear to you, [Rock Band's] brought out this whole new thing in me. I can be a very serious person, and I take my job very seriously, but at the end of the day, I need a break. . . [Being able to count on Justin Bartha] - It's more important than anything else in the world."

A Not Pregnant Kate Moss Strips Down For New York Magazine

Kate Moss stripped down and showed off a healthy looking body for the Spring Fashion Issue of New York Magazine. The interview included Sir Philip Green and confirms the NY Topshop store opening in early April but the timing of the issue also perfectly lines up with even more pregnancy rumors, which she clears up in the interview. In addition, Kate gets candid about loving clothes and her new body, and dishes on how excited she is to host the Met Costume Institute Gala this year. Here are highlights:

On being a designer: "I love clothes. I know how clothes should fit and feel. When I would go to shoots, stylists would say to me, 'You really should do something. You should take it another step.' But it never felt right until I met Philip and the whole atmosphere of Topshop."
On her upcoming lingerie line: "I’ve got a clear idea of what I want for lingerie. I’ve just started wearing bras. It’s a miracle. Not today, but I have been. Great timing for my lingerie collection. I’ve just grown breasts... I am a woman now! It’s true. No, honestly, I’ve never worn a bra in my life. Ever! It’s so awful, even my friends are phoning me up and saying 'Are you pregnant?' And I’m like, 'No! I just put on a couple of pounds, and they went in the right place.' Isn’t that weird? And how perfect for lingerie."

On the Costume Institute Gala: "After the last one, I went with Stella-we’ve been friends for a very, very long time. And the thing is, we stood in line for an hour or something to say hello to the meet and greet in the receiving line. Donatella is in front of us, and Francesco Clemente was behind us with his wife, who I knew from back in the day. And we’re going, I can’t believe this. You can’t smoke. You can’t have a drink. When we got to the receiving line, this lady came up and said, 'We’re sorry, they’ve all gone to their tables.' We were like, What? Tom and Katie just walked right up to the front, and we were like, Who the fuck are they? They’re not even in fashion! And then two days later Anna calls and says, 'I’d like you to host.' And also, it is an honor to be asked by Anna with Marc to host the Met ball and being the first model and all that."

Last year it was Lindsay Lohan posing naked in New York, but this time, as usual, Kate made it all her own.
