George Clooney acted silly out to dinner with his parents in Lake Como last night, jokingly swinging a golf club at fellow diner Bill Murray before returning to his table. While he's playing overseas, George is still making business deals, recently moving his production company from Warner Bros. to Sony. Even when looking ahead to new projects, George still knows how to kick back, relax, and enjoy the Summer with friends and family at his Italian home.

Good Evening Big Clooney and Little Clooney!

George Clooney looked perfectly distinguished alongside his TV journalist father Nick Clooney and Chairman of News and Documentary Emmys, Bill Small, in DC last night. The trio was there to lead a discussion before a screening of Good Night and Good Luck. On the panel, dad Clooney joked about his son, "Never cared for this kid! His sister's great." To which George replied, "I always wanted to be adopted, couldn't find anyone." We've been missing our dose of Clooney in all the award season fun, but all suited up and smiley is even better than seeing him back in scrubs.

George Clooney Gets His Passion From His Parents

After his trip abroad last week, George Clooney must have felt the need to see some of the most important people in his life - his parents Nick and Nina - for dinner out in NYC on Thursday night. There's something so sweet about seeing him with his mom and dad, who just look so proud of their son. Earlier in the day, George's parents were in attendance when he got very passionate speaking at the UN about his recent travels and the need to better equip the peace keeping forces in Darfur. He said,

"Either give them the basic tools for protecting the population [and themselves] or have the decency to just bring them all home...And go back into your offices and wait until it's all over...I am the son of a newsman, so the job of messenger comes with the responsibility to deal with facts, not to tell people what they want to hear, but to tell them what the truth is, unfiltered."

It's obvious to see where George gets his philanthropic and intensely moral side, which makes me love him even more. Plus, now we can see where he gets his good looks too.

These matches close today at midnight, and a few guys really need your votes! Here's a rundown on some of the men who need a few last-minute rallies:

Robert Pattinson vs. Mark Wahlberg: It looks like Mark Wahlberg is going to win this matchup if Rob doesn't get more votes soon - the older actor is currently ahead by a fair margin.
Kellan Lutz vs. Cristiano Ronaldo: Rob's Twilight costar is pulling in more votes than soccer stud Cristiano, but is the slim lead enough to take him into the third round?
George Clooney vs. Nick Cannon: This is also a close race, though right now it looks like George is going to sail past Nick in this bracket.

The round will close tonight at midnight - make sure to fill out your ballots before then!

George Signs up for Two New Projects!

George could be the hardest working man in showbiz these days. He is currently fulfilling his People's Sexiest Man Alive duties as well as promoting his latest project The Good German. Now he has signed with Warner Bros. to appear in two thrillers. The only slight problem is the studio isn't sure when filming will begin or which thriller will be filmed first because Clooney's schedule is so packed. E! Online reports:

The first picture, White Jazz, is a film noir based on James Ellroy's acclaimed crime novel-the final volume in the author's "L.A. Quartet" of books (L.A. Confidential, The Big Nowhere and The Black Dahlia) focusing on murder and police corruption in 1940s and 1950s Los Angeles. In White Jazz, Clooney will essay the role of David Klein, a dirty police lieutenant beholden to the mob who gets set up to be the fall guy when feds launch a corruption probe into the police force.

The movie has been mired in development for a good five years now. According to Variety, before the Good Night, and Good Luck star got involved, Nick Nolte and John Cusack were previously attached to headline the project with Robert Richardson at the helm, but nothing ever came to fruition.

The second high-profile new project will see the Oscar winner direct and star in Belmont Boys, a heist drama written by Ocean's Thirteen scribes David Levien and Brian Koppelman that follows seven crooks who reunite at a racetrack to finish a job they started three decades earlier.

We're really looking forward to checking out The Good German in theaters December 15th, and after that hopefully getting to see those thrillers sooner rather than later! Until then, more pics of George arriving for a visit on The Daily Show read more

Amy Winehouse's concerned in-laws are asking that her fans boycott buying her records until she and her husband can get medical treatment for their drug addictions. At this point, we're in favor of any tactic that would prevent her from hurting herself any further. - BBC News
Matt LeBlanc's former manager of one year has filed a suit claiming that LeBlanc owes her around $1 million dollars for career advice she continued to give him after they parted ways. Sounds like she should've gotten a more iron-clad contract for those later years. - TMZ
