Nicole Richie dressed up for last night's Fifi Awards in NYC. The annual event, which awards prizes to top sellers in the perfume industry, is usually a big celebrity draw. In addition to Nicole, yesterday's soiree brought out Michelle Monaghan, Josh Groban, Martha Stewart, and more. Nicole wore an Emilio Pucci dress to hit the red carpet and take the stage. Nicole traveled to the Big Apple after a stint in Australia with her family. Little ones Sparrow and Harlow Madden went to the zoo with Nicole in Sydney, one of the main adventures the family enjoyed Down Under. Dad Joel Madden has had to work a bit, though, as he's a mentor on the Oz version of The Voice. Nicole is expected back in Sydney by this weekend, as she's due to make an in-store appearance at a David Jones location.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden Take Their Little Ones to the Sydney Zoo

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden hit the zoo in Sydney today with their children Harlow and Sparrow Madden. The foursome checked out the giraffes and even offered the animals carrots. Nicole and Joel led the way for their kids, with Harlow and Sparrow sharing an adorable moment in their stroller. Joel was happy with the treatment they received at the park. He tweeted today, "Thanks Toronga Zoo for having us today with the kids. They are still buzzing from it. Can't get enough. We'll be back fo sho."

The Richie-Madden family is together in Australia while Joel works on the Aussie version of The Voice. Joel and Nicole celebrated the series and its high ratings at a big bash last week. Joel is a mentor on the Australian version of the show, along with Seal, Delta Goodrem, and Keith Urban. Nicole, Joel, and the rest of The Voice gang for together for a Champagne and cocktail party to toast the record ratings of the series.

Nicole and Joel are celebrating his latest project, but she's just made big news, too. Nicole Richie will design for Macy's as the latest big name to create a capsule collection for their in-house Impulse brand. The endeavor adds yet another feather to the Fashion Star's cap. Nicole Richie Will Be Designing a Collection For Macy's

Macy's has nabbed Nicole Richie as the next designer for its Macy's Impulse capsule collection series. "With each collection I do, it all starts with music," said Richie. "Music is the driving force behind my inspiration." The limited-edition collection, launching online and in 100 Macy's stores in mid-September, is set to feature 30 pieces highlighting a mix of masculine and feminine pieces, via a bold peacock print from Richie's archives, bright colors, pretty chiffon pieces, faux leather, and tough zipper details. Furthermore, Richie says her line, "represents the many different layers of a modern woman. Women are wearing so many different hats these days. We are evolving." Previous designers who collaborated with Macy's include Karl Lagerfeld, Giambattista Valli, and most recently, Alberta Ferretti. Nicole Richie is the star of a special spread in the June issue of Glamour, which features Carrie Underwood on the cover. Nicole lounged poolside in cover-ups and bikinis for the shoot to promote her many projects including Fashion Star and her new Nicole Richie Collection for QVC. She shared her beauty tips, talked about married life, and proclaimed that she's "proud" of her body. Here's more from Nicole Richie in Glamour:

On her husband, Joel Madden: "You know, Joel barely speaks all day, and then out of
nowhere he has 9 million things to say, only for 30 minutes, from 9:00 to 9:30 P.M., when I'm watching Real Housewives."
On her body: "I feel [gets all fake dramatic]…great about my body. [Laughs.] You know, aesthetically I can be picky, but I choose not to. I've taken huge leaps. I'm proud of that. I work out, and I get lots of sleep, and so I feel great. And that is most important."
On her favorite part of the day: "When I wake up at 5:30 A.M. and it's still dark out. I love, love being alone. It helps me to be a better mom to my kids and a better person at work."
