Angelina Jolie is rumored to be replacing Tom Cruise as the star of Edwin A. Salt, a movie about a CIA officer wrongly accused of being a Russian spy. The lead role would be changed from male to female, as would the title of the film. - BuzzSugar

Sugar Bits - Morgan Freeman in Serious Car Accident

Morgan Freeman was involved in a car accident last night in Mississippi. He was driving when he may have fallen asleep at the wheel, losing control and causing his car to roll over three times. He and an unidentified female passenger were airlifted to a hospital in Memphis. A source says he is sitting up and talking. - TMZ
Christina Applegate has been diagnosed with a non-life threatening form of breast cancer and is being treated with the expectation of a full recovery. - E! Online

Newsflash - Indiana Jones Opens Today

Summer blockbuster season is officially in full gear! Iron Man kicked things off but this weekend it's all about Indy and die-hard fans are already in theaters watching the long awaited fourth installment of the Ford/Lucas/Spielberg film. Shia may be the newcomer but he already knows how important it is to take his mentor's advice. When ET asked Shia what he's learned from the veteran actor he said, "Stay humble." We love it and hope he sticks to it. The cast showed up last night in NYC to express their gratitude to fans for a special screening. Oh and some other celebrities like Eric McCormack showed up as well. He looks so cute, makes me miss Will & Grace a little. I wonder if they agreed with Buzz's review of the film.

FiFi's Fragrances Attract the PYTs

We're sad to see our favorite TV shows head to hiatus for another Summer, but luckily the stars of the small screen are still coming out to play in Hollywood. Last night Alyson Hannigan, Minka Kelly, and Taylor Momsen got dolled up for the 36th Annual FiFi Awards in NYC. The ladies helped honor the night's big winners, which included Daisy Marc Jacobs and Intimately Beckham Women. We can see that they looked gorgeous in their springtime dresses, and something tells us that the lovely ladies smelled just as sweet.

Critics Choose No Country and Juno

While the Golden Globes show is canceled this year, last night's Critics' Choice Awards brought out some A-Listers in LA. The stars all looked great on the red carpet and inside got down to honoring each other. The writers' strike was the topic of the night, but there were still some light hearted moments up on stage. Katie Holmes looked fabulous (in her toga) giving out an award while Angelina and Brad were ever the popular kids fielding visits at their table from Clooney/Queen Latifah and Casey Affleck. Javier really ran away with the show at the end up three times in a row to accept for himself, the Coens and the movie. He got in an anti-Bush jab, but his real acceptance speech was totally sweet. The Desert Heats Up With Palm Springs Film Festival Awards

Stars took a drive into the desert on Saturday night for the 19th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala. Halle Berry looked stunning covering up her growing bump in a flowy black dress. High School sweethearts Zac and Vanessa posed together while his Hairspray costars Amanda and John got chummy backstage. How cute does Drew look? The issue on everyone's mind was the writers' strike and what effect it will have on this weekend's Golden Globes. That and, of course, Britney's latest drama. On that Ellen Page said, "I feel bad, you know, because everyone kind of judges her and splatters her business everywhere...No one goes, 'Why is this happening?' They just judge and judge and judge. It's too bad."

Stars Start Their Morning With a Power Breakfast

Last night the stars came out to celebrate the Hollywood Reporter Power 100 Breakfast in LA. John Travolta and Queen Latifah took on the hosting duties, while stars like Emmy Rossum, Michelle Trachtenberg, and Nikki Blonsky were in the house to pose pretty. The ladies who made the impressive list are the masterminds behind the entertainment industry: Oprah came in at No. 8, while Jodie Foster was honored with the fourth annual Sherry Lansing Leadership Award. This might not be as much fun as our year-end Best of 2007 polls, but it's still a great honor for all these fabulously successful women.

Movies Rock J Lo, Marc, Beyonce and Fergie

Last night in Hollywood, Condé Nast brought together music and screen to celebrate at the first ever Movies Rock event. The red carpet was all about drama from Beyonce's green number which looked like she would waddle rather than strut in to Fergie's sexy lingerie-esque dress. Jennifer Lopez positively glowed (and is sooo big!) while Marc posed with his hand on her belly - protective already of their little one. Both Josh Duhamel and Josh Jackson went with ties and sweaters, though Pacey's maybe shrunk a bit too much in the dryer. Inside the show, the audience was treated to performances from the all star talent - more on that in a little. How do you think all the ladies (and men) were looking? Hollywood Awards Afflecks, Travolta, Hairspray and More

The Affleck brothers were the men of the hour at last night's Hollywood Film Festival's Hollywood Awards. Brad Pitt handed Casey Affleck the award for Breakthrough Actor of the Year (an honor bestowed on one Miss Lindsay Lohan last year) while Ben walked away with one the Breakthrough Director of the Year. That's the second year in a row on this stage for Ben (last year he won Supporting Actor), but it must have been that much sweeter to share the press room with Casey. John Travolta also walked away with this year's Supporting Actor statue and shared the Ensemble win with the rest of his Hairspray cast. Meanwhile, CZJ didn't go home with any honors, but yowza on the dress. Let Award Season begin!

Claire Danes Takes a Lunch Break From Rehearsals

Claire Danes was joined by Nikki Blonsky and Emile Hirsch yesterday at the 67th Annual Motion Picture Club awards luncheon in NYC. Claire has been spending most of her time on the east coast preparing for her upcoming role on Broadway in Pygmalian. The show marks Claire's professional on-stage debut, although most people think she's had more theatrical experience. She said,

"I think people assume that I had done theater because I live in New York and I have danced. So I am offered a lot of theater for that reason -- because of that misconception -- but nothing really as gripping as this ever came along. I think it's still so provocative and fresh and current."

We still think of Claire as Angela on My So-Called Life, but it's great to see her growing up, branching out and trying new things.
