Amy Shows Off More Bikini Bottoms But Keeps Tops Optional

Amy Winehouse continued to splash around the beaches of St. Lucia during her holiday vacation, spending another weekend displaying her bikini collection. She switched back and forth between going topless again and covering up as she cuddled up to a male friend and performed a handstand for her friends. The singer looks happy enjoying her fun in the sun but come January 12 she is expected to make a Norwegian court appearance in relation to her October 2007 drug arrest. Maybe your most scandalous British celebrity will finally turn over a new leaf in 2009 after kicking things off on a relaxing note.

Cate, Kate and Jessica Take Palm Springs Honors

Palm Springs sure makes everyone look stunning. The British Kate and Sienna looked amazing as well as the other Cate. As usual, Jessica Biel was all class showing off her sick and well rested body. She was there to receive the Rising Star Award. Another big winner of the night was Babel who took best ensemble performance and Director of the Year. Cate Blanchett won Career Achievement of the Year for her work in the film as well as Notes on a Scandal and The Good German. Brad may not have won an award on his own but Cate made sure to throw some attention his way. Here's more:

Blanchett on stage joked that she could barely speak English, prompting Pitt to play interpreter and feign sign language. He also lead the crowd of 1,800 (which included Morgan Freeman, Laurence Fishburne, Alan Arkin and Sissy Spacek) in singing Happy Birthday to their Japanese Babel co-star, Rinko Kikuchi. In honor of Kikuchi's 26th birthday, Blanchett playfully said she was pulling a Britney Spears - "not wearing any underwear this evening."

Tiffany was an event sponsor, and stars were greeted on the red carpet by a 5-foot version of the jeweler's signature blue gift box, wrapped in white ribbon. Kate Winslet (honored for acting achievement for her role in Little Children) Winslet said her "childlike brain" was hoping to see "a person leap out of the box and perform some fabulous tap dance." The gift box sparked "extreme excitement" from presenter Sienna Miller. "I'd like to be in that box with whatever else is in there," she said.

Sounds like a great night. Love the fact that Cate Blanchett is totally up to speed on Britney's missing underwear! Goes to show that A-List celebs don't take themselves too seriously. Oscar Noms Announced, Dreamgirls, Babel Score Big

The nominations for the 75th Academy Awards were announced this morning in Los Angeles by Salma Hayek and Sid Ganis. Dreamgirls scored the most nominations with eight, but was shut out of the Best Picture category (Beyonce was also passed over). Babel came in with seven nominations, and while it scored two acting noms, some of its actors, most notably Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett who many thought were shoo-ins, were also left out. Blanchett did earn a Supporting Actress nod for her work in Notes On a Scandal. The nominees in some of the major categories are:

Most Shocking Headlines: Paris in and Out of Jail

Paris Hilton kicked off what proved to be a pivotal year by pleading not guilty to her September DUI charge. Before she even got her sentence, her personal life was thrown into disarray a few weeks later when a little website called Paris Exposed hit the Internet, offering up access to lots of private videos, photos, notes and letters revealing all sorts of juicy tidbits about Paris' scandalous life as a party girl.

In late February Paris had more car troubles - this time she was pulled over for driving without the headlights on and for driving with a suspended license. In March the rumors started flying that Paris' problems with the law could land her in jail, and sure enough, in May she was sentenced to serve 45 days in prison. Her sentence was quickly cut down to 23 days, but we still never thought we would ever see the day where she would don an orange jumpsuit. However, the heiress quietly checked herself into a facility immediately after leaving the MTV Movie Awards, complete with a glamorous new mug shot.

We weren't surprised that Paris was released three days later due to a medical condition and given a new sentence of 40 days house arrest with an ankle monitor. Unfortunately for Paris, she barely had time to settle back into her house before she was carted back to jail with tears streaming down her face the very next day. After serving her 23 days, Paris strutted out on June 25 with a huge smile. A few days later she gave Larry King her first post-jail interview where she claimed that she never did drugs and was now a changed person who was going to be more responsible and charitable. Paris did spend some time giving back in the months following her jail time, but by December she was back to her standard partying ways. We will give her credit for her best decision of 2007 - she finally hired a driver.

Lindsay Making Enemies Left and Right

This is not a good week for Lindsay. Even though the girl can manage to make a flannel shirt look sexy and scandalous out at Winstons last night, she is not making any new friends. Rumor has it that her Georgia Rule co-star Jane Fonda doesn't want LL's diva behavior at the Atlanta premiere of the movie next month. There's also a new story about Lindsay stealing $10,000 worth of designer clothes from her former friend, model Lauren Hastings while she was off on a shoot. Evidently when Hastings returned home, she texted Lindsay who had a few choice responses. Here's more:

"Lindsay just told her she was delusional and claimed Lauren didn't know what she was talking about. She insisted the items weren't stolen because they did belong to her. Then she'd laughed to her friends about it. She thought the whole thing was hysterical," a source said.

Lindsay texted Lauren that she was a fat b*tch, a friend of Lauren's says. Nicole Richie also chimed in, a source said, and told Lauren that Lindsay would return the clothes after they cut them up!

"Nicole wrote that she and Lindsay were going to cut holes in Lauren's jeans because Lauren was so fat and her jeans didn't fit," our source notes. "Then Nicole told Lauren that if she went to the cops, she would regret it!"

Of course, Lindsay's rep denies the whole thing and we don't blame them - this stuff sounds horrible and so high school. Even if only half of this stuff is true (it's being reported by Star) it doesn't sound good. Hopefully LL will get her act together before she alienates everyone in her life!

Judi Dench Plans to Break a Leg, Just Not at the Oscars

Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett were on hand for the premiere of Notes on a Scandal at the Berlin International Film Festival this week. Judi is up for Best Actress for her role in the film but don't tell her to break a leg at the ceremony. The Oscar winner will already be getting her leg broken - literally when she goes in for knee surgery. She says she'll be watching the ceremony from her bed! We hope her surgery goes well, and who knows, by the end of it she could have another Oscar to put on her mantel!

Is Oscar Gold in Sienna's Future?

Rumor is that Sienna Miller may be up for an Oscar! According to Sky News, the actress has been getting rave reviews for her performance in Factory Girl and movie mogul Harvey Weinstein is campaigning to land Sienna a Best Actress nomination. Other rumored contenders include: Helen Mirren (The Queen), Judi Dench (Notes on a Scandal), Meryl Streep (The Devil Wears Prada), Penelope Cruz (Volver) and Annette Bening (Running with Scissors).

It's still early, we have the holiday movie season yet to go, but we wish Sienna the best of luck! She deserves to be on top what with all the heartbreak Jude Law caused her. Speaking of Jude Law, he looks like he was a handful last night at the Pepe Jeans party in London. Sienna, however, is looking fabulous. Kate Moss Gets Off

Kate Moss will not be charged for the cocaine scandal that shocked the supermodeling world. Even after having her face plastered all over the world doing lines, she will get off. She lost a ton of contracts but came back bigger than before the incident. She did do rehab but is still partying hard as noted in the latest boot and rally story. AP reports:

British prosecutors said Thursday they would not charge model Kate Moss over allegations of cocaine use reported in a tabloid newspaper â€” despite strong evidence she was using illegal drugs.

The service's London director of serious casework, Rene Barclay, said there was an "absolutely clear indication" that Moss was using an illegal substance.

"However, in the absence of any forensic evidence, or direct eyewitness evidence about the substance in question, its precise nature could not be established," he said.

"Ms. Moss declined to provide any explanation when interviewed, and the direct eyewitnesses also declined to provide evidence," he added.

Lack of evidence - please. Can they not see the photo? Do they not know Pete Doherty? Maybe this is why she looks so happy at the Isle of Wight Festival from last weekend.
