Attention MK & Nicole: Pink Says Fur Is the New Fat

Pink has never been shy about expressing herself, and her feelings on animal rights are no exception. Last month she teamed up with PETA to boycott wool, and now she's playing on Hollywood's weight obsession to try to get celebs to stop wearing fur. Here's more:

"My new campaign is 'Fur: It Makes You Look Fat'," Pink says, followed by a wicked laugh.

"If we say fur is actually not flattering, maybe more of these people will care if they think they look fat, because obviously they don't care they're skinning animals alive for the fur."

In addition to trying to bring down the fur industry one weight conscious person at a time, Pink also adamantly denies past rumors that she called Beyonce a b*tch for wearing fur. She said, "If they wore fur I'd call them uninformed, unintelligent, ignorant and disgusting, but not a bitch." Pink's passion is admirable, but we're skeptical about how notorious fur lovers like Mary-Kate and Nicole Richie will respond to this new campaign.

Pink Wants You to Boycott Wool

Pink is no stranger to controversy when it comes to the treatment of animals. Most recently she called Beyonce a bitch for wearing fur and it doesn't stop there. Now she's joined with PETA in taking on the Australian Wool industry. What's wrong with wool, you ask? While the wool itself is sheared from the sheep without harming it, Pink says the animals are still mistreated and sometimes killed. PETA Calls Out Madonna for Wearing Fur

Madonna is no stranger to controversy, and as if she didn't have enough in her life right now she goes out wearing fur. It's tough enough wearing fur these days as a person who's not famous, what with people walking around just looking for someone to dump a red can of paint on. But when a celebrity does it, PETA gets involved and then watch out. Here's more:

Feisty animal rights group PETA is on the Material Girl’s case after Madonna was spotted wearing a chinchilla fur.

Although Madonna doesn’t eat meat, her spokeswoman confirmed that the fur was real, and it’s estimated to have cost $70,000.

“Wearing a coat made of dozens of small, gentle animals certainly got Madonna the attention she so desperately craves, PETA rep Dan Mathews told The Scoop. "But she’s setting a terrible example for her children, who are learning about selfishness and greed rather than compassion.”

Madonna doesn't really seem to care what PETA thinks, she chose to wear fur out on the town with Guy. I guess we know who's going to be on PETA's Worst-Dressed List next year! For more pics just read more

Anti-Fur Activists Target Kate Moss

Kate Moss hosted a charity auction event to benefit the Sam & Ruby Charity on Friday night in New York. Her wardrobe choice included a fur jacket which has further infuriated anti-fur organizations who are already upset with Kate for continuing to be the face of Burberry, which has refused to abandon fur in its collections. The World Society for the Protection of Animals has written her a letter, pleading with her to boycott fur. Their call has been echoed by both the RSPCA and the Coalition to Abolish the Fur Trade.

In particular, she has drawn criticism in her role as the face of Burberry, which has refused to abandon fur in its collections.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, or PETA, has launched an internet site, BloodyBurberry.com, featuring dead animals superimposed on images of models.

The model is also accused of hypocrisy for staying with Burberry while signing a £50million contract with anti-fur company Topshop.

Nicole scored the prize for PETA's worst dressed celeb this year. PETA slammed Nicole saying, “This pelt-wearing party girl is all animal skin and bones. She’s an incredible shrinking woman with the heart to match.” Ashley Olsen takes the second place crown, and Christina Ricci wins the bronze. Eva also made the list where PETA noted, “You’d think she’d be more sympathetic to the plight of rabbits considering the way she screws around like one on Wisteria Lane.” Ouch! What do you think? Angelina and Meg Help Honor Courageous Women

Activist Actresses Angelina Jolie and Meg Ryan got together with some very noteworthy women in Beverly Hills last night for the International Women's Media Foundation's 18th Annual Courage in Journalism Awards. The honorees, from Mexico, Ethiopia, and Iraq, were awarded last week in DC, but were happy to have another time on the red carpet together in LA last night. Obviously Angelina, Maria Shriver and Meg Ryan were happy to be able to host the women in LA last night, too. Look at that grin! Earlier this year, Angelina received critical acclaim playing an extremely courageous female in A Mighty Heart and she obviously greatly admires the work of women dealing with intense situations all over the world. A definite big brava goes out to all these incredible women who inspire female journalists everywhere.

Beyonce Punk'd By PETA

Beyonce had a dinner at Nobu with what she thought was two fans who won an eBay auction in support of VH1's Save the Music Foundation for a dinner with the singer. What poor Beyonce didn't know was that the winners were actually part of PETA and were videotaping the dinner where they proceeded to confront her about wearing fur and using it in her clothing line. TMZ reports:

TMZ obtained video of the confrontation, shot by PETA, taped inside the restaurant. As they sat at the table, Beyonce, who has a fashion line with her mother that uses fur, had no idea what was coming. After placing their orders, the PETA members confronted the singer.

The PETA members then pulled out a portable DVD player and began playing a tape of Pamela Anderson's attack on the fur industry, which highlights graphic footage of the process of killing animals for their fur.

Also present at the table -- Beyonce's mother Tina and her sister Solange.

The PETA members were swiftly escorted out of the restaurant. Beyonce and her relatives stayed inside.

Is PETA Picking on the Olsens Too Much?

It's no mystery why PETA isn't a fan of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's fashion choices, considering the twins are often seen wearing fur and have included it in both of their fashion lines. Today, the organization unveiled a new anti-Olsen's effort, including an entire interactive website and an ad campaign to be unveiled at their star on the Walk of Fame.

In addition to rolling out the site and a MySpace page dedicated solely to exposing the "pair of unpleasant, airheaded fur hags" (referring to them as Hairy-Kate and Trashley Trollsen), the organization is also making personal attacks against the twins' weight and physical appearance. So we want to know - do you think PETA is picking on the Olsens too much?
