PopSugar Exclusive Interview with Lauren Conrad

When we caught up with Lauren Conrad, the sunny California starlet was relaxing in her home we all know so well from The Hills. Lauren was friendly and down to earth, which was just what we expected from the everyday girl gone famous who we've watched grow up over the past five years. She stopped mid-sentence to ask Lo what music they've been listening to and walked over to her fridge - around boxes from her basement flooding that morning! - to look in and tell us what was inside. With a hit show, fashion collection, and growing resume, this girl from the small town of Laguna Beach has grown up, landing her at the number 25 spot on the 2008 PopSugar 100. We talked about the highlights of this year and other fun things like fashion, food, fitness, friends, and cute Chloe.

PopSugar: Can you describe some of the highlights of your past year?
Lauren Conrad: I would say the biggest highlight is the launch of my line. I also bought my own house, which was exciting. The show is going really well, that’s nothing new but that’s been kind of exciting.

PS: We just read recently that you thought Laguna Beach was going to be a one-time documentary?
LC: Yeah when they originally asked us to do it it was called the “Unrestricted High School Project” and I thought it was just one episode. They said they were really interested in the fact that we had all grown up together in a small town and we were all really a close-knit group of people, and they wanted to do a small documentary on a group of friends, so that was kind of what we signed up for. It’s funny, you see the little pilots that they showed us initially and it looks nothing like the end of the show.

PS: Wow really? And when did they say, "We are going to make this a full-blown TV series"?
LC: We all signed up to do this little pilot that no one has ever seen except for us - I don’t even know what they did with it. They showed it to us and we were like, "Oh this looks great" and then they said, "It got picked up" so that is when they started shooting and it kind of became what it has and no one really realized what it was until we all got sent the first episode, right before it aired!

PS: What has it been like for the show to have become so successful?
LC: I think I have been pretty lucky that it happened gradually because the mood kind of started out pretty small and then it slowly got bigger, I mean none of us were really expecting it, it was crazy for us then, and since then it slowly escalated, but since it has been slowly it has been kind of nice. It allowed us time to process it.

PS: Was there ever a time when you woke up and were like, "Whoa, this is all happening to me?"
LC: Yeah, I think we had just graduated and the first season had just began airing and I was at a game with a couple of my guy friends and a little girl saw my friend Stephen and pulled out her inhaler. I think it was at that moment - it really freaked me out too, I was like I think we might have signed up for something bigger than we thought!
PS: [Laughs] Did she recover?
LC: Yeah she did she was fine, but I mean it was weird to see someone have that sort of reaction to someone you have known your whole life.

PS: So going back through this past year do you think there are any lessons you have learned or something that you’re going to take away?
LC: I think that in the past year I have really gotten a chance to see who my true friends are and who is going to be there for me, you know, no matter what? Like Lo is one of my best friends from high school, and Audrina obviously has always been there for me, and I think that when it gets to a point when it's almost too much that’s when those people are there for you.

PS: If you could go back to a year ago and tell yourself some advice, what would it be?
LC: It would be that I’m never going to please everybody so I should just give up now [laughs]. I mean you can waste so much energy trying to make everyone happy, but at the end of the day it's impossible to please everyone, so you just need to focus on what makes you happy.

PS: What does sort of a typical day look like for you?
LC: They are all kind of different, this week is crazy because we have a photo shoot every single day. Except Wednesday I am not the model, I’m shooting my resort lookbook and I have to be there all day, so those are actually even longer, it's almost more work when you are not the model - it's like an 11 or 12 hour day. I mean normally we film a few days out of the week and other days we are kind of doing other stuff, just the other things we work on in our lives, we keep pretty busy.

PS: So the interview we talked about with Laguna Beach being a documentary, because of the editing, you also said you are actually a lot happier than the show makes you look? So we are wondering what are the things we are missing out on as viewers that make you happy?
LC: It’s not like the Real World, in that show they put a bunch of people in a house with tons of booze and see what happens. In The Hills, if one of us has too much to drink, they drive us home. So that’s the difference, they don’t want us to get smashed on camera, they don’t want us to be train wreaks, they focus on the parts of our lives that are actually more interesting.

PS: Have you ever come across anyone in all of your nights out that made you really starstruck? Any fun celebrities?
LC: Actually yeah, I met Marc Jacobs when we were filming and I got so nervous when I saw him that I didn’t really know what to do, but I was trying to act cool, but I didn’t even stand up to shake his hand, I actually came off a little bit too cold, like I didn’t really care and I felt kind of bad. I get really starstruck over really random people and designers.

PS: George Clooney or Brad Pitt?
LC: Better with age.
PS: Matt Damon or Ben Affleck?
LC: I don’t know! I like Matt Damon more I think.
PS: Katie Holmes or Victoria Beckham?
LC: Frowns! You don’t see them smile!
PS: Dawson’s Creek, The OC or Gossip Girl?
LC: Gossip Girl! I love it.
PS: Do you prefer bags or shoes?
LC: Oh, shoes!

PS: Are you a Mac girl or a PC girl?
LC: Both actually, mostly PC but I like Mac to edit photos or art
PS: Sit-ups or push-ups?
LC: I hate them both! But probably sit-ups

LC: Project Runway.

LC: Heels

LC: Karl!

LC: Ice cream - if you’re going to do it go all the way!

LC: Fake tan - but a good one, not orange. It's better for your skin since everyone is going to get skin cancer

LC: High fashion

PS: What do you have on your iPod right now?
LC: I love MGMT, the Kooks, M.I.A. "Paper Planes", The Orion Experience "Obsessed With You".
PS: What is the last book you read?
LC: I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell. Have you read it?
PS: No, I haven’t
LC: It’s really vulgar but a lot of my guy friends were frat guys so I get the humor.
PS: What is your favorite TV show?
LC: Gossip Girl.
PS: What are some of your guilty pleasures TV wise?
LC: I don’t really watch that much TV, but I will wait until whole seasons are over and then download the whole thing on iTunes because I’m really impatient. I just started watching Greek and I used to be obsessed with Grey's Anatomy, but it’s kind of dying for me. I mostly end up watching Sex and the City reruns actually.

PS: Do you ever Google your dates?
LC: Yeah, all of them! But I don’t believe everything I read though. I Google pictures to see ex-girlfriends and stuff [laughs].
PS: Do you have any dating advice?
LC: Probably just have fun with it, I never take dates too seriously. Oh and I don’t kiss on a first date.

PS: What is your favorite cocktail?
LC: Depends where, I have a favorite cocktail at every place.
PS: Do you go with the specialty drinks at every bar?
LC: Yeah, I like to try a lot of different things everywhere we go. I’ll usually order whatever their specialty drink is with vodka, but for an everyday drink I usually just drink vodka and soda water.

PS: If we opened your fridge right now what would we find?
LC: I can actually tell you, I’m just wandering around my house right now. It’s filled with boxes because my basement flooded this morning. There's leftover grilled vegetables, berries, and vitamins… yeah that is pretty much it! We don’t have too much in there because it goes bad. We have berries and such to snack on, but if we are really hungry there are tons of restaurants all around us.

PS: How’s Chloe?
LC: Chloe actually just got back from puppy boot camp because she wasn’t learning anything, but now she is. She still eats everything but she is good!
PS: Do you enjoy having a puppy?
LC: Yeah, she is great. She just eats my shoes. She has eaten a couple pairs literally out of the box too! I never even got to wear them.

PS: What is your favorite perfume?
LC: I have a lot of different perfumes, but I really like Dior Miss Cherie, or Marc Jacobs. I also wear Michael Kors and for everyday I wear Kai, which is a sort of gardenia scent.
PS: Do you have any interest in doing your own perfume?
LC: Not really. I think it’s kind of weird to want to smell like someone, but I don’t know - it could be fun to do like a line of them, not just a personal scent.

PS: Do you ever look back on a hair or makeup style and think, “What was I thinking?”
LC: Most of them, yeah! I used to have bleached blonde hair - Lo and I both - and we burned all of the pictures. They were really bad!
PS: So they won’t end up online?
LC: I think a few of are, but all the personal ones we got rid of.

PS: Do you have any Summer must have items?
LC: Sunscreen. I use a lot less of everything during the Summer - less makeup and almost no hair products. Summer is a little more natural I feel like. I think good bikinis because it's summer!

PS: We've seen you going to the gym a lot lately.
LC: Yeah I started again, its really hurting me!
PS: What is your routine at the gym?
LC: I just started doing more kickboxing which is really fun, and the way [my trainer] does it it's like a full body workout. Like squat, lunge, squat, lunge, or lower punches. It’s really like a full body workout, but I do a half hour of kickboxing and then he has me just do weights. We also do running most days and Chloe likes it.

PS: If you could finish this sentence, “I can’t live without my…..”
LC: I can’t live without my friends.

PS: Do you have the premiere date of The Hills?
LC: Yeah, it’s in August sometime, they haven’t told me. A Monday in mid-August!

PS: Our readers are dying to know what happens this season!
LC: I haven’t seen any of it yet, but I kind of know what happens because I was there [laughs]. There is actually a lot of good stuff coming up which, luckily, has not been reported on. We are making a big effort to hide it - it's kind of weird, we can’t really talk about things that are happening on the show. Normally everyone already knows what happens, but this season most of it has stayed pretty quiet. Obviously some of the stuff has been reported on, but a lot of it is only half the story, so the show kind of clarifies things sometimes.

PS: Are you going to be at New York Fashion Week in September? Working or for fun?
LC: Yeah, right now I am planning on it, but I never know for sure. Kelly [Cutrone] hasn’t told us whether we are working yet or not. I will either have to go out with Kelly or I will just go out to see some of the shows.

Lauren also told us about her fun 4th of July and how busy life has been after returning from her recent break. She sounds happy and excited to have the opportunity to be living out her dreams all while trying to keep her newfound fame in perspective. After talking to the starlet, we're happy to report she still seems like that sweet girl from Laguna Beach High School, but certainly a bit wiser.

Ashlee's Mini, Mini Tour Coming Soon

Last week we had the amazing opportunity to chat with Ashlee Simpson who was really sweet and fun on the phone. She told us that she is headed back out on the road for her promo tour to showcase some new music from her upcoming album (check out the tour dates here). The singer also answered your questions about being on tour, what she's learned being a celebrity and more. While we love seeing Pete and Ashlee having fun on a rainy day double fisting coffee and walking adorable Hemingway, we're more excited we can follow it up with the answers to your questions separate from how proud she is of Pete for supporting Obama. PopSugar: When can we look forward to getting more music from the album?
Ashlee Simpson: I'm putting out a special on iTunes... so you'll hear one song from the record is on there... so you'll have the single on there and then another song, it's called Rule Breaker. As far as the record goes it's going to be out in late March and I'm so excited for everyone to hear. It's a fun dancing record and at the same time it's definitely quirky and I hope people will enjoy it. I always test it out with my friends. I start going on a promo tour (the end of this month). I'm going to be going to the clubs and a bunch of different cities with a deejay just performing some songs. Then after that I'll be on a real club tour with my band.

PS: We know you were going for the fun, upbeat sound with the new album and single. Wanted to do something your friends would dance to.
AS: Yeah. The place I was at when I was writing the record was definitely a fun, kinda quirky place. I worked with awesome people like Timbaland and Chad Hugo from the Neptunes - a bunch of really cool people. Everybody was so different and interesting in the room. It really created this interesting sound which I'm proud of and I hope people will enjoy.

PS: We've heard rumors about the Cure, and desires to work with them and so on. Is there any truth to that, and if not is there anybody else on your wish list you'd like to work with?
AS: The Cure was a huge rumor. That's obviously a childhood fantasy, but you know who wouldn't be honored by that. I've met him before and he's a fantastic guy, but that was definitely a rumor. I think I'll just sit back and listen to their music. But there are a few collaborations on the record, and all in all I'm really happy with the sound and the way that it went. And you still get some of the pop rock stuff... I didn't totally delete that. And there are a few ballads on the record... every girl has to have those (laughs).

PS: So is there anyone who's on your wish list to collaborate with?
AS: I did work with some pretty exciting people.... and I will soon release who I worked with (laughs).

PS: Okay, question from a reader who would like to know what's your most favorite song you've ever recorded?
AS: You know there are actually a lot of songs on this record that I had fun recording because they're definitely quirky... you know when you just really get to kinda go there. I got to go to this fun, interesting place because it's my third record now. That was really cool for me. But one of my favorite songs... I like Eyes Wide Open, that one's fun. But I think everything is also wonderful to perform live, that makes a difference on my favorite songs. And I'm really excited about this record because I had a little bit of a different sound - so I have two records that I'm really proud of... and L.O.V.E. - that was one song I was really proud of... oh and I must say LaLa!

PS: What's the most fun thing about being on tour?
AS: I love to be on tour. I love to be on the road. I love to be in a different city every day. I think the coolest thing is just being able to get to see the fans every night and actually get to see their faces and have people dance around and jump around to your music... the energy is always awesome.

PS: One of our readers wants to know if there's any good advice or a saying that you live by that you could share with your fans?
AS: (Laughs) When you go to bed, go to bed happy and content with who you are and happy with who you are... This world is a very judgmental world. Don't listen to people's comments who are not nice - don't listen to the negative, shoot for the positive. And laugh things off!

PS: Is there anything you've learned from being a celebrity? Anything unusual you want to share?
AS: It's really freaky when people jump out of bushes (laughs). And I think I should start wearing really ugly pajamas out.... Yeah but there's definitely a lot of things that I've learned. Like I was saying earlier you really just learn to laugh things off and don't take everything to heart. And be able to laugh at yourself!

PS: Another one of our readers was wondering where you see yourself in five years. Do you have any other creative outlets you want to explore that you haven't?
AS: I'd love to do a line of clothing. And I really love acting - I always have. I definitely want to tap more into that in the future. But I want to do the right roles. I want to pick the correct roles that are quirky and fun.

PS: And maybe more theater?
AS: I love theater. For me, doing Chicago was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had in my life. I definitely would love to go back to that.

PS: How was that different than being on tour? Were you more nervous doing Chicago than when you're performing your own songs on stage?
AS: I was actually really comfortable with it. It's fun because you just get to get up there and play a different character. The character I played, Roxie Hart, was just so out there it was just fun to do that every night. And what's different is you're in the theater every night and you've got to find ways to make the show interesting for yourself because you're doing the same show every night.

Molly: Your roots are in dance. Was it fun to be up doing the more Broadway style of dance?
AS: It was so much fun. I mean, for me, growing up I always wanted to do theater/Broadway so this was really living out a dream - it was cool.

Ashlee Hits the Road With Her #1 Fan

Ashlee and Pete went very matchy-matchy at Mist in Phoenix on Wednesday night with their all black outfits, sneakers and flat ironed hair. It's Pete's turn to play groupie while Ash is hitting up various cities around the country for her mini promo tour. We shared some of our interview with Ashlee and now we've got even more from Ash. In the final segment of the interview, Ashlee talks about her life outside of the music realm, discussing her favorite designers, makeup secrets and fitness tips. She also revealed that she still has to get thinking about her Valentine's Day gift for Pete. Luckily, it looks like they've got pretty similar taste so it shouldn't be too hard. PopSugar: We've watched you grow up - we watched you back in your reality days. What's it like for you to go back and watch that stuff? Is it something you regret? Is it something you would do again?
Ashlee Simpson: I wouldn't say it's something I would do again (laughs). Or I definitely wouldn't do a whole series again. But I definitely don't regret it. For me it's cool, because I can look back on that. It's when I got my record deal and everything. One day when I'm a grandma and have purple hair (laughs) I can show my grandchildren that... something like that is kinda cheesy but it's fun to think about.

PS: Who are some of your favorite designers?
AS: I love YSL - that's one of my favorites. And I like Miu Miu. I like Chloe and Marc Jacobs as well.

PS: Are you going to be going to Fashion Week?
AS: I think I'm going to be on the promo tour, but if I can make it out for a day then I definitely will go out for that.

PS: Who are some of your style icons?
AS: I love Debbie Harry - I think she's great. For me it's more about looking in certain magazines. I tear out sheets of everything I like... even random people. For me it's more about that instead of just one person's style.

PS: How would you describe your own personal style?
AS: I think that I always like something to be a little off, but on you know? Like I like to put a bright color... I definitely wear black a lot so I'm trying to experiment with brighter colors. In the day I'm very casual - I'm a tennis shoes kinda girl. But I think it's whatever I feel comfortable in that day. If I feel like getting dressed up that day then I'm going to get dressed up!

PS: What about all the hair color changes?
AS: You know, I think if my life didn't go the way it went I would have been a hair colorist (laughs).

PS: So it's just something fun for you?
AS: I love to do it. It's just fun, yeah. It's something you can always change. You get to kinda take on a new personality with a hair color.

PS: So did you just wake up the other day and say "I'm going to go red."
AS: Yeah... actually (laughs) I did it the other day, I was like "OK you know what I think I want red hair. I've never had red hair before!" So I just did it and I love it. I like it - it's different and I'm really enjoying it. It's fun to try out different colors.

PS: What is the one beauty or makeup product you use every day that you can't live without?
AS: La Mer I always use. And mascara - my Dior mascara. And my black eyeliner. I don't use much on my skin ever except La Mer and then I always like eyeliner and mascara.

PS: Any secrets to keeping such fabulous skin then since you're not putting anything on it?
AS: (laughs) I use these face wipes... you know as cheesy as this sounds I like the ProActiv face wipes. And La Mer face lotion.

PS: Any fun fitness tips you can give in avoiding the unhealthy pressures of Hollywood and always looking so fabulous?
AS: For me, whenever I do shows is always when I'm the most fit. I always stay active... I don't obsess a lot so I never have really had too much of a problem with it. It's eating in moderation... like not saying I can't have pizza, just eating it in moderation. Just don't eat the whole thing, right (laughs)?

PS: Another one of our readers would like to know what a typical day is like for you when you're not busy working?
AS: I always have to find something to do because I get bored really easily. So it really depends on the day and what I'm feeling that day. I like to do a bunch of different things. But if I'm not working I really like to see my friends... my girlfriends... hang out with them. I like going shopping, going to the record store... which I'm really sad about the Virgin store in LA. Watching movies at home is always good and I like to go to the movies a lot.

Molly: Any big Valentine's Day plans?
AS: Not yet, but I gotta get thinking. I gotta get something special!

A Few Words With Haylie Duff!

It's been a fun week for us here at PopSugar - not only did we get to chat with Emmuanelle Chriqui, but we were also lucky enough to interview Haylie Duff! She's been busy hosting Legally Blonde the Musical: The Search For Elle Woods on MTV, but she took a few minutes out of her busy schedule to answer our questions about the show, working with Hilary, and more. Here's what she had to say:

PopSugar: What is the most exciting thing about being on Broadway?
Haylie Duff: I think the most exciting thing about Broadway is the audiences everyday. It’s so funny because the show changes so much just based on who is sitting in the audience and the kind of responses you get. Sometimes you have really loud audiences that laugh at everything, and sometimes you have audiences that are quieter and are just kind of taking in the whole experience. As a performer, you’re like, “are we not as funny today, are we not doing it as good as we usually do it?” But then the response at the end of the night will be huge applause and things like that. I think that’s the most exciting part – how different each show is.

PS: What is your role in helping choose the next star of Legally Blonde?
HD: I’m fortunate enough to not have to choose who the next girl is gonna be. I don’t do any of the judging or eliminating. I’m strictly there to serve as supporter and as someone to encourage them and to push them and to, you know, remind them that all the hard work and everything that’s difficult they’re going through is worth all the different experiences that they’re on the verge of having.

PS: Is there a profession you have not done yet that you would like to do?
HD: I want to direct eventually. That’s on my list of goals, but not for a while, I want to make sure that I’m really ready to do that before I try!

PS: You and Hilary both work together a lot in movies and with music; does this bring you closer together – is it more fun or does it put a strain on your relationship?
HD: You know what, it’s funny because it doesn’t bring us closer together, but it doesn’t put a strain on it either. It is what it is, and we’re always excited to work together. I know when I was writing for her albums and things like that, we would sit down and just talk like we do constantly just as sisters, and spend time together, then I would try to take personal experiences she was going through and try to feel what they felt like and then write for her based on that. In the movie, that was such a collaborative thing for us, we had so much fun everyday on that set. We don’t get to spend a lot of time together, so anytime that we get to do something together, we’re always excited about it.

PS: What is you favorite guilty pleasure?
HD: My favorite guilty pleasure? Oh God, I have so many! I’m like, which one can I say that people won’t think I’m a terrible person? A guilty pleasure . . . mmm . . . I don’t know! Maybe, um, like bad TV. (laughs) That’s kind of a guilty pleasure. Like, late night bad TV. I find myself in like hotel rooms by myself a lot, so I always find kind of weird shows. I love the public access channel in New York.

PS: What is the best beauty advice you have gotten?
HD: I think from my mom. That was to wash my face before I go to bed and to take care of my skin. I had a makeup artist show me how to put eyelashes on under my eyelashes, and that was a pretty good one too, but I don’t know how to do it yet by myself so I’m gonna have to practice.

PS: Who is your favorite designer?
HD: For clothing? I have so many! I love Chanel – that’s one of my favorite ones. For everyday clothes, I like simpler stuff. I like Foley + Corinna, I love Vince, I love Sass & Bide, I love Dolce Vita. I like easy stuff for during the day, and stuff that’s comfortable that you can wear all day without feeling like you’re paying attention to your clothes.

Catching Up With Emmanuelle Chriqui

Last year we had the opportunity to interview the fabulous Emmanuelle Chriqui, and we were lucky enough to chat with the actress again this week. She's been super busy promoting You Don't Mess With The Zohan all over LA, including a stop by Jimmy Kimmel Tuesday night. We got the scoop on everything from working with big names in Hollywood, to returning to Entourage, to being a big environmentalist. She was also nice enough to share a few of her fashion and beauty secrets, so be sure to head over to Fab and Bella to check it out. Here's a preview of what she had to say:

On working with Adam Sandler: "Oh my God, he is so incredible. I can’t say enough good things about Adam, he constantly impresses me. He is the most grounded, real person ever. It’s the weirdest thing, and to kind of be as iconic as he is, he never loses what his priorities are - like his family and friends, being a good person and it’s amazing to see that in Hollywood. You kind of wish everybody was like that. "
On being green: "I am a huge environmentalist, and I drive a Prius. I’m a part of the Environmental Media Association, and I think it is the coolest thing in the world to be green. I really do, I think it is especially important for young people to just sort of jump on that bandwagon because this is our world, we have the chance to save it or kill it. I just think it is majorly important. It is something I am passionate about - it's not uncool to be green. It is the opposite!"

PopSugar: Adam Sandler's not the only big name you are working with these days. Tell us about Cadillac Records?
Emmanuelle: I am so excited about that movie. Just because it was a script that I read that I totally fell in love with. It’s just an amazing story about musical history that shaped everything - music as we know it today. And of course working with Adrien Brody and Jeffrey Wright was ridiculous, I would have paid to do that movie!

PS: How about Patriotville?
Emmanuelle: We did a re-shoot on Patriotville, I’m actually really grateful for it because we got to fine tune a lot of things. I haven’t seen the new version yet, but apparently they are pretty happy so hopefully that will be something that will be coming out in the future.

PS: Do you like doing the more comedic role or like the dramatic stuff better?
Emmanuelle: You know, I love them both, they are such different experiences, but ultimately both totally exhilarating. I think what it is is when you work with someone who is at the top of their game, whatever their game is, it is just an amazing experience -like working with Sandler and Rob Schneider and John Turturro who are seasoned comedians, it is so amazing as an actor when you feel like you have to step up your game, like you are being challenged just by the company your holding. It’s just awesome.

PS: Do you miss the TV work or do you really like the movies right now?
Emmanuelle: I love the movie stuff, my dream was also to be doing film, but having said that, Entourage was not only the thing that totally changed the direction in my career, but you know I miss the show. I miss the guys. I’m going to be going back for one episode this season. It remains sort of open between E and Sloan - who knows what is going to happen. But like I just think cable shows, generally speaking, are not like regular television, and working with HBO and Entourage - a critically acclaimed show - you know, that show always felt like making a movie. We were always on location. And even in the way that they had premieres for the show, it always felt like it was more of a movie than a TV show.

PS: Do you keep in touch with the boys at all?
Emmanuelle: Yeah, well, in particular Kevin Connelly who is truly one of my best friends. We talk all the time. They are like my brothers. You know, the other day, it was really funny - I had a meeting in Beverly Hills and as I was leaving I saw this film crew and I was like, "Oh I wonder if that is Entourage?" And then I saw our prop master and it was! And then I see Kevin standing at the curb and was like, “Kevin! Hey!” So I walk over and it was like the sweetest thing, like one by one all the boys came over and said hello. It was just like a family, truly like a family. And you know, even though I am not a regular on the show, I never feel like, “Oh what is she doing here?” It's always like, "Oh yay!" It’s just a really nice thing.

PS: They seem like really nice guys, but you know, it's nice to hear that they actually are.
Emmanuelle: Yeah, they are, they are really amazing.

PopSugar Chats With Entourage's Emmanuelle

Earlier this week PopSugar had a special opportunity to chat with the beautiful and talented Sloan from HBO's Entourage. The other night Emmanuelle Chriqui looked fabulous in jeans and white blouse (she says she's a jeans and T-shirt girl at heart, after all) at the premiere of Fracture. Emmanuelle was an absolute sweetheart and dished to us about her favorite designers, running with superfamous soccer players, and life on the set of Entourage. Here are highlights:

PopSugar: What is it like to be one of the only girls on the set with all the boys of Entourage?
Emmanelle Chriqui: (laughs) I was a very lucky girl.... All of them are such gentlemen. It was like having all this attention on you and everyone taking care of you (laughs). It was fun. Never uncomfortable. It always just felt like a family, except it just happened to be a male dominated family.

PS: How much are you like your own character on the show?
EC: We have things in common. I’d say we have a very similar essence which is probably why I was cast in the first place. But as far as the kind of things like, you know… being the daughter of a high power agent… all like Beverly Hills and all that stuff, I don’t have that in common with her at all. I mean, I’m so, so the opposite (laughs)!

PS: And how did you get into the business to begin with?
EC: I started acting when I was 7-years-old doing theater in Canada. By the time I started high school, I lived in a suburb outside of Toronto and there was a performing arts high school that was being built. I did the whole theater thing in high school and then sort of started doing little things in Canada like commercials and little parts here and there. I then finally picked up and moved to LA and the rest is history!

PS: Did you know you always wanted to get into acting?
EC: Oh yeah, totally. Always, always, always!

PS: We also saw you have a couple of movies coming out. What else is on the horizon?
EC: At the moment I am auditioning a lot. We’re waiting to see a release date. You know, in indie films that could happen tomorrow or it could happen in 2 years. It’s really hard to say. Patriotville, After Sex, who knows when they’re going to come out. I’m doing a lot of reading and auditioning. Nothing I can absolutely talk about yet, but very wonderful opportunities are coming my way.

PS: Would you consider Entourage to be a pretty realistic look at the life of actors in Hollywood?
EC: I would say we have things in common with it, but it’s much more the life of an absolute A-list celebrity. I mean, there’s a big difference between being a working actor and being a, you know, a Mark Wahlberg or a George Clooney or whatever. They command a lot more control and as you can see with Vince, he’s got amazing scripts thrown to him. Offers - unbelievable offers that always just come to him. That’s something most actors just wish for. There’s an extreme and he’s a very A-list celebrity on the show. Let’s be honest, whether you’re a working actor or not, not everybody's an A-list actor. So that really changes things.

PS: We love your wardrobe on the show. What’s it like for you? Is it exciting to see what they picked out? Do you have any say it in?
EC: It’s always fun to see. It’s fantastic because the wardrobe stylist is phenomenal – Amy Westcott. She’s awesome because it’s a real collaboration. She’ll have this idea and pull a couple things and then we’ll either tweak them or we’ll go how about this or that. There’s a real partnership that’s awesome and she’s all about the creative process. The thing that’s interesting about Sloan is that as much as she’s sophisticated and all the rest, and you can tell that what she wears is expensive, there’s a hint of edge to it. There’s a little funkiness to it which we bring to it so it’s really fun. It’s great. I’m always excited to see what Sloan’s going to wear.

PS: What kind of designers has Sloan been wearing this season?
EC. Wow! I actually have no idea. I have no idea. It was actually very funny. For the birthday scene, Vince’s birthday party, we had all these designer dresses and at the end, at the bottom of the pile, there was this red and white skirt. And Amy and I both eyed it and we’re like “Oh my God, are you thinking what I’m thinking (laughs)??” She’s like I don’t know - let’s try. So we take this skirt as a halter, like a strapless, and belt it and we’re like, ok there we go. That’s what I mean. It’s little things. So I actually don’t know what that skirt/top/dress is (laughs).

PS: Who are some of your celebrity inspirations? Who do you look up to career wise?
EC: Well, of course the great Meryl Streep. I have a handful of actresses that I absolutely look up to like Cate Blanchett and Kate Winslet. I’m a huge Christina Ricci fan. I think as a young actress she’s made such great choices. There’s young actresses like Kirsten Dunst and Reese Witherspoon that have made amazing choices in their career and create this longevity - like you know they’re going to be around for a long, long time and make movies that matter. Those are just to name a few.

PS: Who would you want to work with in the future?
EC: Oh man, I would LOVE to work with Johnny Depp not because he is beautiful but because I really think he’s phenomenal. There are a bunch of directors I’d love to work with like Cameron Crowe. I would love to work with Oliver Stone, Martin Scorsese. You know, just to say in my lifetime that I’ve worked with the greats would be unbelievable.

PS: Who would you want to be in your celebrity Entourage?
EC: I have a very valid entourage (laughs)! I have my own entourage here in LA and they’re pretty fierce I gotta tell you.

PS: Is it mostly friends from growing up or other actresses?
EC: It’s a couple other actresses, people along the way that I’ve met that are just the glue of my life here in LA. Whatever it is whether I go out; whether we’re celebrating; whatever it is they’re always there. They’re just a really special bunch of people.

Gerard Is Your First 2008 Manjoyment Delivery

Ask and you shall receive. Many of you voted that you'd love to see more of Gerard Butler in 2008, so consider this your first gift of Manjoyment of the new year. Mr. Butler took his sexy scruff to South Beach to ring in the new year, showing off those guns that made him famous from 300 in his tight white t-shirt.

P.S. I Love You didn't appeal to us too much, but he's got two more movies in the works for the next year. You know what that means - a lot more of this hot star strutting his stuff on the red carpet and anywhere else we can find him.

Stars Get Frisky Premiering P.S. I Love You

The hot guys (ugh, other than the mustache) stole the show at last night's premiere of P.S. I Love You in LA. It seems like Gerard Butler and Jeffrey Dean Morgan were pretty into each other, too, judging from the red-carpet game of grab ass (love it). Gerard said, "Jeffrey Dean Morgan rubbing my ass, yeah that's about as good as it gets!" Other excitement included the fact that Mary Louise Parker was looking hot on JDM's arm - yay for them being back together. Hilary Swank looked glamorous showing of her new movie, while Gina Gershon was showing off an interesting two-toned hair look, are you loving or hating it? While the previews make me feel like I might cry through the whole movie, I gotta say that I can't resist the Gerard/Jeffrey Dean Morgan duo.
