Johnny Depp was surrounded by fans last night as he left the Tim Burton event at the MoMA in NYC. He headed off to toast Tim further with friends at a bar, but it's Johnny who's celebrating today due to his Sexiest Man Alive win. Johnny is one of Hollywood's classic hotties, but there are lots of other manjoyable men running around who also might deserve the title. Johnny Depp Is People's Sexiest Man of the Year!

People magazine came out with its annual issue of the hottest guys in Hollywood, and leading the pack is this year's Sexiest Man Alive - Johnny Depp! He spent last night toasting his great friend Tim Burton at a MoMA benefit, but today all eyes are on Johnny due to his latest accolade. This marks the second time Johnny takes home the title, though he shares the distinction with a few other guys. Ryan Reynolds also earned praise from the publication, as did Robert Pattinson, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Bradley Cooper - click here to see the full list of winners. Hugh Jackman Is People's Sexiest Man Alive!

The scruffy and handsome Hugh Jackman was chosen as People's Sexiest Man Alive for 2008, perfectly lined up with the premiere of his epic Australia with Nicole Kidman. Nicole is one woman who isn't surprised by the choice, saying: "Women's jaws drop when Hugh walks into a room." Hugh talked to People about earning the title:

On his wife's response: "God bless her, she said, 'I could've told them that years ago!' And then she said, 'Obviously, Brad wasn't available this year.' And I said, 'That was a joke, right?'"
On his first girlfriend: "Martine Craswell, in kindergarten. My dad said, 'Oh, I always knew you were romantic because you were running in a race and Martine fell over and you stopped and went back and picked her up.' Chivalry was there."
On keeping the passion alive: "It's easy with my wife. She loves the idea of me coming home in costume because it makes her feel like she's having an affair in a good way. When we met, I was cast as a prisoner with tattoos and she'd say, 'Don't take your tattoos off tonight!' and I'd be like, 'All right!' But what works best with her is the stockbroker look. She also says, 'Do your sexy dance for me,' [an '80s-like, hip-swiveling number] and that works for me."

The hot Aussie has come a long way from being teased as a kid and admits that ladies love his pecs these days while showing off a very romantic side. George and Brad's campaigning for Matt Damon to be crowned Sexiest Man Alive have finally paid off. Obviously we could not agree more. We know many of you don't necessarily consider him sexy but what's not to love about this amazing actor, father and friend. Here's what People had to say about Matty:

George Clooney and Brad Pitt have shamelessly campaigned for him since 2001, but this year's winner was Bourne to the title. "You've given an aging suburban dad the ego-boost of a lifetime," Damon, 37, told PEOPLE, explaining why he couldn't possibly accept the crown – which perfectly demonstrates many of the reasons we chose him in the first place: irresistible sense of humor, rock solid family man, heart-melting humility.

David Celebrates His Sexy Status With Ice Cream

David Beckham brought his three boys out for ice cream in LA last night. He had his hands full afterward carrying Cruz and Romeo back toward their car, and David even revealed that he's walking around with a boot on his foot. His injury didn't get in the way of a victory for the Galaxy last weekend, when his two youngest sons joined their older brother Brooklyn on the sidelines. David stayed in California with his boys during Posh's latest trip abroad as she gets down to work on one of her many ongoing projects. She did find a chance to give a comment to People supporting its decision to include David on the Sexiest Men of the Year list along with big winner Johnny Depp. "David is a wonderful husband. He is kind and incredibly romantic," she said. "He is a brilliant sportsman and an amazing father. He idolizes our three boys, and this is what makes him 'the sexiest man alive' to me."

Does Page Six really have the inside scoop on this year's winner? They are claiming it's Matthew McConaughey. He has been looking rather fabulous recently but I wonder if this recent outing of his sexiness may have cost him the title. We know that publicists everywhere are working hard to get their clients to win this award.
