The Princes of Wales organized a memorial service held in Buckingham Palace today to mark the 10th anniversary of the death of their mother, Princess Diana. We're happy to see that her life is still celebrated by her friends and family. - People

A Celebration of Princess Diana

Thanks to Princes William & Harry, yesterday's tribute to their mother, Concert for Diana, was a beautiful and memorable celebration of all that she loved. At the event, Princess Diana's (as well as a few of her sons') favorite singers/dancers/actors/comedians all graced the stage to honor her memory. Unfortunately I missed the live broadcast of the full 6 hour show and only caught the NBC special, but it looks like the special event went off without a hitch. Diana's good friend, Elton John, opened and closed the show, but in the middle some of today's biggest pop stars took the stage. From Fergie to Pharrell, Rod to Duran Duran, the concert ran the gamut of pop music.

The event benefited a number of charities, which is fabulous, but for those of you who still dream of marrying one of the princes, Harry's girlfriend Chelsey was there, along with Will's maybe-reunited ex, Kate Middleton, but she sat a few rows back. Of the performances I caught (unforch, NBC didn't show Beckham's cameo in the special -- booo city), only Diddy seemed a little out of sorts on stage, "Make some noise if you miss Diana!!" Uh, right.

Lindsay as Princess Diana?!

Lindsay looked like she just rolled out of bed (or never quite made it there) while out and about in LA this week. Still, she's not letting her partying lifestyle get in the way of her acting aspirations. She recently talked about her desire to play Princess Di (but thankfully not in the way that Dina predicted). Here's more:

“She gave back a lot and was such an amazing woman,” Lohan told In Touch Weekly.

What’s more, Lohan is planning to emulate her idol by finding some charitable causes. She told the mag she’s traveling to Japan soon with her pal designer Charlotte Ronson and is “researching some charity work that I can do and visit some orphanages.”

Wait, we thought that Marilyn Monroe was Lindsay's idol. Maybe Diana is her new, improved post-rehab idol. We don't really care; anything that gets LL to do charity work is fine with us. Let's just hope she doesn't adopt any kids while she's orphanage-visiting. We have yet to see those puppies she recently took on!

She sure thinks so. Ms Hilton was promoting her single and in the latest interview she compares herself to Princess Diana and Marilyn Monroe. I guess it's good to be confident. Here are two of my favorite quotes from London Sunday Times"

“Because there’s nobody in the world like me,” she says, smiling lazily. “I think every decade has an iconic blonde - like Marilyn Monroe or Princess Diana - and right now, I’m that icon.”

...“I read these stories about me starting fights and saying stupid stuff. I’ve become a cartoon. Nobody seems to get that how I am on The Simple Life is a character. Paris in the City of Brotherly Love

Paris Hilton headed to a mall in Philadelphia yesterday to do some promotional work for her upcoming movie The Hottie and the Nottie. She played with one of our favorite toys, the fabulous Flip camcorder while she chatted it up with local radio stations. Paris also met lots of screaming fans, and when asked about her appeal, she said, "I think maybe it's because I'm real. People can relate to me. They see things that have happened in my life. And that I'm sweet. I feel that when you truly are a good person, it will shine through in your eyes - shine through from your heart to your eyes - and people will see that. Princess Diana, who I love, she had that."

Somehow, "real" isn't the first word that comes to mind when we think of Paris, but we do give her credit for heading to the mall to meet fans instead of hitting the stores.
