Amy and Meryl Take Julie and Julia to NYC

The cast of Julie and Julia moved cross-country for the NYC premiere after hitting the red carpet in LA earlier this week. Meryl Streep went a bit more casual this time while Amy Adams took it up a notch in her floor-length gown. There were a few famous chefs out for the night, as well as Julie Powell who inspired the title character of the film. Both Yum and Buzz had the chance to interview Julie this week - read about her thoughts on the movie here and her relationship with Julia Child here.

Michael J. Fox Tells Ryan Reynolds What Marriage Is All About

Ryan Reynolds stopped by The Rachel Ray Show today to talk about running the marathon for a cause so close to his heart. He didn't dish on Scarlett, but the newlywed looked fantastic and continued to charm with his personality. While on air, he was surprised by Michael J. Fox, who had some really sweet things to say about Ryan and some sage marriage advice to impart to his younger friend. Here are highlights:

Michael's marriage advice for Ryan: "Just remember this, if a man says something in the forest and his wife isn't there to hear him - he's still wrong!"
Michael on Ryan's support: "It means a lot and I'm humbled by you connecting your feelings for your father and your affection for him, and your desire to maybe make his life better and make life better for others in the situation. I'm humbled to even associate that with the work that we do."
Ryan on the marathon: "I see this Team Fox banner up ahead, and I look to my left and there I saw Michael. My dad, for I think fairly obvious reasons, couldn't be there at the marathon. I would have loved him to be there, but Michael really was a kind of surrogate for that for me, and to just high-five him and have that moment really carried me through. I mean, I said that I gained 15 pounds in goosebumps alone, and I just off I went and finished strong."

It sounds like Ryan and Michael have a lot of mutual respect and admiration for each other as they continue to work toward a cure for Parkinson's.

A Funny Thing Happened With Michael J., Lance & John

Michael J. Fox stole the show, but he wasn't the only big name out at the A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Cure Parkinson's event on Saturday night in NYC. John Mayer rocked out on stage in his velvet suit while Lance kept his vocal stylings to himself. He also had no little blondes on his arm, though rumor has it that his most recent lady friend isn't an Olsen after all. It looks like all the boys had a blast together at the event and, golf claps, out to support an excellent cause.

Celebs Who Can, Do

Last night Jimmy Fallon and U2's The Edge were honored at the Can-Do Awards in New York. The event was hosted by Bill Clinton and raised funds for the Food Bank of New York. Julianne Moore, Ed Burns and Christy Turlington were among the celebs who came out to get their philanthropy on. Josh Hartnett cleaned up well by finally shaving that chin scruff, while Kate Bosworth looked super skinny in her beautiful Chloe dress. David Bowie and Michael Stipe were among the musicians who attended the event but weirdly enough, it looks like cute Jimmy was the only guy who picked up an instrument.

Sugar Bits - Brandy Involved in Fatal Crash

Brandy evidently caused a fatal car accident last month when she hit a car from behind and caused subsequent collisions. There was no evidence of drugs or alcohol and she has not been arrested. The story is still developing so stay tuned. TMZ
Lance Bass is evidently not coping well with Internet rumors that Reichen has been cheating on him and he didn't try to hide it Monday night at Sundance. Maybe Lance needs to find a new boyfriend. - Page Six

Jessica's In charge of her own Public Affair

Jessica Simpson: singer, reality star, actress - publicist? Wow, she should be named employee of the month for all the jobs she's been doing lately. We heard rumors that she was handling her own damage control but you can't blame her after the PR disaster when it was declared that she was madly in love with John Mayer. Here's more:

"It's been very emotional," she says, "But I am my own publicist right now. I've called all the heads of the tabloids. I don't want anyone else to speak for me now."

The former NEWLYWEDS: NICK + JESSICA star claims she wanted to talk to editors personally about all of the hurtful stories and try and move past her bitter feelings towards them. She adds, "It felt good to call them, but it was hard to find forgiveness. But that's one of my best qualities, I'm very forgiving." Simpson says she knows exactly who leaks information to the media when she reads the tabloid reports adding, "I know who they are, and none are my friends. "Trust me, if inside sources were my friends, the magazines would have a lot juicier info!"

Sounds like the tabloids aren't digging deep enough and it's almost as if Jess wants us to be even more curious about her life. Anyway, as long as she doesn't start couch jumping on talk shows like Tom Cruise did after he dumped his publicist, I think she's okay. Based on her recent visit to Rachael Ray - so far so good.
