Feb 6 2009 - 4:00pm Kate Winslet waved to her fans earlier today on her way into a photo call for
The Reader during the
Berlin Film Festival. After posing for pictures, she sat down with her costars for a press conference and then got fancy to hit the premiere alongside Ralph Fiennes. Kate's up for an
Oscar for her role in the WWII drama, but she's pragmatic about the odds of winning since she's been nominated five times before but never has won.

She's so stunning!
1I haven't seen The Reader yet, but she is gorgeous!
2I don't like the black dress and shoes. I think her non prepped look ruined it. Her hair should be down and curled at the ends.
3i kind of hope that she wins, but the oscars at times surprise us all so you never know. when you find that people who've seen success at all the other awards shows don't win, you're forced to scratch your head about things.
4Don't like those jeans on Kate. She's wonderful though.
5I liked Gran Torino more than the Reader. To me its another political stunt the Oscars will favor Winslet and the movie because of its Jewish theme an upper gain in this Jewish Hollywood.
6I watched the photo call (on the Berlinale website) and it was just too cute how Kate and David Kross were holding hands when they were coming in. Here's a picture:
