Jess Takes the CMA Festival Stage With Fellow Country Stars

Jessica Simpson stepped up to the mic along with some of country music's biggest names to help kick off the 2008 CMA Music Festival in Nashville last night. Of course, Jess is no stranger to the stage, but there have to be some big-time nerves showcasing her new material to an audience who already has lots of preconceived notions about her. Considering the warm reception you all gave "Come on Over," hopefully it all went over great. Either way, she did it with a big old smile on her face, as did fellow blonde performers like Kellie Pickler, Jewel, and Taylor Swift. Jess will be taking her show to The View on June 25, which is just the beginning of promotion for the new album. Looks like we better get used to Jessica Simpson: country darling.

Ladies Like Carrie, Nicole, Taylor Shine in Vegas at ACMs

The big bright stars of country music came together in Las Vegas last night for the Academy of Country Music Awards. Nicole Kidman stood out on the red carpet, laughing with Keith Urban in her daring dress, while the young ladies in the circuit like Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood lightened things up in their gorgeous gowns. Miley Cyrus looked surprisingly demure with her dad on her arm instead of boyfriend Justin Gaston. Inside the show it was all eyes on the ladies still as Carrie took home the biggest award of the night - entertainer of the year. She said, "I've had a lot of good moments in the last four years. This one takes the cake!" before giving cute a shout-out to her NHL boyfriend Mike Fisher.

Matthew McConaughey is new in the music scene, but he fits right in joking on stage about not losing his shirt while in Vegas and sitting in the audience with Camila Alves. Performers included Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and more. Jamie Foxx is a frequent award show attendee and this time he took the chance to talk about change with Barack Obama in the White House and formerly-known-as-Hootie, Darius Rucker, on the country charts. Despite recent alleged affair controversy, LeAnn Rimes took the stage to accept a humanitarian award. Check out the full list of winners here and all the photos of the fun night below.

American Idol's iTunes Top Downloads Produced a Few Hits

This week the contestants chose from iTunes top downloads, and while the pop hits would suggest guaranteed fun, there seemed to be more letdowns than sing-alongs. After a rocky start with Anoop attempting his best Usher and Megan butchering Bob Marley, Danny Gokey finally wowed the judges with his rendition of "What Hurts the Most" by Rascal Flatts. Allison's outfit distracted the judges so much they barely talked about anything else.

Matt Giraud may be in trouble again this week. He is one of our favorites, and we liked The Fray song he performed surrounded by the audience, but the judges panned him. Lil Rounds dressed like Whitney, and although her voice hit some impressive high notes, her singing wasn't nearly as memorable as her cute kids - including one daughter's hug to Randy. Adam Lambert kept the slicked back hair and showtunes vibe, which the judges continued to eat up. Favorite performances from the night were Scott MacIntyre's beautiful and spot-on Billy Joel performance and Kris Allen's "Ain't No Sunshine." The closing performance by Allen was agreed on by the judges as his best so far, and it certainly left us wanting more of this cute contestant. As for the bottom three, Annop, Megan, and Allison look like they are in trouble this week. Jessica Simpson Gets Fancy With Her Mom

On Saturday, she was promoting her fragrance Fancy with her mom Tina in Scottsdale. In addition to her perfume, shoes, bags and more, she's also tackling jewelry, which should keep her plenty busy as Tony focuses on football.

Jessica's Daisy Duke Rascal Flatts Days Are Over

Friday night she chose sexy black in San Diego while on Saturday she capped it off wearing hot sparkly heels in LA. Throughout the tour Jessica's had trouble remembering the lyrics and made headlines gushing about Tony, speaking out about abuse and some very famous pants. Now it's time for Jess to give her daisy dukes a rest and relax during the off-season with Tony.

Jessica Simpson Gets Leggy and Lucky

Thursday night Jessica Simpson continued on tour stopping off in Salt Lake City wearing her signature William Rast daisy dukes. She performed for 45 minutes as the opening act for Rascal Flatts, and once again the news of the show is all about Jessica's weight, boyfriend and lyric mishaps. Apparently, the singer admittedly laughed off fumbling the words to "Come on Over." She also spoke about her recent confidence to keep getting on stage and of course a shout-out to Tony. Jess said, "I'm so lucky to be here. . . The thing that makes us lucky is being in love...I did find that unexpected kind of love." Jessica remains positive and after a few weeks of unnecessary attention, the beautiful singer proves she's still hot.

She looked happy opening for Rascal Flatts at the legendary venue wearing a little black jumpsuit. While you were all loving her updo from the other morning, Jess let down her locks this time. The singer has been adamant that she's perfectly happy with where she is and nothing proves her point quite like her onstage confidence.

Jessica Simpson Is Madison Square Garden-Bound

Jessica Simpson arrived in NYC yesterday in preparation for tonight's big Madison Square Garden show on her tour opening up for Rascal Flatts. When she announced the ACM Award nominations earlier this week, Jessica had nothing but praise for her tour mates and happiness about her life these days. By all accounts part of what's keeping her spirits up is Tony. He apparently doesn't have a bad word to say about his girlfriend's recent controversy, which is something Jessica needs. At La Guardia she looked pretty glamorous and done up, so even if her confidence is high, it seems Jessica still wants to put her best foot forward.

Jessica Simpson Is So Happy and Doing Really Great

Jessica Simpson was on The Early Show this morning in Nashville to help announce the Academy of Country Music Awards - video of the announcement after the jump - and perform her new single "Pray Out Loud." She had nothing but good things to say about touring with Rascal Flatts, which includes "lots of hugs . . . Texas style." When asked how she's been doing over the past few weeks, Jessica answered, "Honestly, I am right where I'm supposed to be. I am so very, very happy. Everything's really great. It's all about keeping the faith." Jess has been looking amazing and keeping her head up despite all of the drama and was spotted out drinking beers with Tony Romo after her rough show last week. She's also going full steam ahead with her successful brand adding a jewelry line and a bedding and luggage collection.
