Joaquin, Mark and Jennifer Make Red Carpet Reservation

Reservation Road premiered in LA last night, bringing out the movie's four big name stars. Joaquin, Mark, Jennifer and Mira all looked happy to be reunited on the red carpet, but I'm sure they were all missing their other all star costar, Elle Fanning. Jennifer Connelly was obviously too busy reveling in her new deal to be the face of Balenciaga to realize that the designer's runway look doesn't translate too well to the everyday premiere. Two words: Hot mess. With all the super dramatic movies opening this weekend it's hard to choose just one. A Fresh Faced Joaquin Premieres Reservation Road

Joaquin Phoenix cleaned up real nice for the NYC premiere of Reservation Road. It really is amazing what a haircut and a shave can do for a guy. He definitely holds his own as the man of the hour since his co-star Mark Ruffalo couldn't make it to the event. Mira Sorvino showed off her long legs while Jennifer Connelly looked beautiful but we're not loving the huge flower on her dress. The movie doesn't hit theaters until Oct. 19th, but Molly was lucky enough to see an advanced screening of the film, so be sure to check into Buzz next week for her review.

Joaquin Comes Clean

Joaquin showed up at the Toronto Film Festival looking a bit rough but he cleaned up nicely for the premiere of Reservation Road. He looked a bit shy leaving the festival but maybe he was just tired out from all the dance moves he so elegantly displayed. Joaquin showed both his goofy and serious sides when talking about how the role in the movie affected him personally. Here's more:

"I'm going to be frank with you," he says, shifting sideways in his chair, admitting that in the past he probably talked about how certain roles might have been affected by his personal life.

"But, to be honest ... there is no effect on your real life. And if I said so in the past, I was probably only trying to get nominated."

And since, after being nominated twice for Oscars, it's no longer an issue?

"And now that that's done," he laughs. "I can finally be honest."

Well, now that Joaquin isn't trying so hard for the Oscar, maybe this will be the year that he finally gets to win one.

Joaquin Wants You To Get Lost On Reservation Road

The stars of Reservation Road showed how well they can clean up at the movie's TIFF premiere yesterday. Jennifer Connelly looked gorgeous in her LWD (although we're a bit confused about her choice of shoes) and Mark and Mira looked fabulous as well. Joaquin wins the most improved award in comparison to the press conference on Wednesday, and gets bonus points for showing off some killer ballet moves. Clearly Joaquin has no problem hamming it up with his co-stars, but got serious when asked how he prepared for the film, saying,

"If you're sitting in the theatre and wondering what an actor did to come up with a performance, or what personal experiences contributed to that performance, you're not in the movie. Hopefully, you should just be lost in that experience."

Joaquin and the rest of this cast have delivered some intense performances in the past, so we can definitely imagine getting lost in this movie. That is of course, if we can get the image of goofy Joaquin leaping across the stage out of our heads.

No Reservations On The Road To TIFF

The all-star cast of Reservation Road hit the Toronto Film Festival, first stopping off for a press conference to discuss the film. Sure, Joaquin wasn't looking his very best but (the newly daughter-expecting) Mark more than makes up for it in the adorable factor. Mira and Jennifer looked like they were having a lot of fun with their male co-stars (hey, I wouldn't mind spending an afternoon with those boys). Unfortunately little Elle Fanning didn't make it out to the press conference - she is just precious. I loved the book of Reservation Road (not to be confused with Leo/Kate's Revolutionary Road), so I'm definitely excited to see this one. Hopefully this excellent cast will be able to do the story justice.

Joaquin Phoenix's Reservation Road

Here are some pics from Joaquin Phoenix's latest film project, Reservation Road. Jennifer Connelly plays Joaquin's wife and Elle Fanning (Dakota's little sis) stars as his daughter. The film, based on the novel by John Burnham Schwartz, is about a man whose son is killed in a hit and run accident. He ends up seeking revenge for his son's death but is worn down by grief and anger. Hmm, probably not good for date night, but sounds like a possible Oscar contender. For 2008, that is. The film doesn't come out until November of 2007. We'll have to get by on pics until then.

90210 Cast Party At The Peach Pit and Tori's Joining Them!

Lat night the cast of 90210 gathered at the Peach Pit as part of this January's TCA Press Tour. The scene was crowded but the starlets were gracious and ready to chat about the show and what an incredible year they've had. Jason Preistley mostly stuck to his corner table outside while the new stars bounced around the room. Jennie Garth is excited that the 90210 wardrobe is better these days and happily revealed that Tori Spelling is definitely appearing on the show. Check out what Jennie, Shenae Grimes and Annalynne McCord had to say:

Jennie Garth on New 90210 vs old 90210: "I like being older. And I like having learned. Oh I get to dress way better now than I did before. I dress classier a little more mature, which I like."
On being a mentor: "I hope so, I hope I impart some of Kelly’s Wisdom that she’s gained from her jouney."
On Tori Spelling returning: "Yes!"

Shenae on her year: "A crazy whirlwind that I never imagined."
On expecting her fame: "It’s a lot of the clichés that I didn’t think were true. I really didn’t expect it to ever happen to me. It seemed too far from my world. So the fact that it did was shocking, but it did and it’s not that bad and I’m doing alright so it’s not a big deal."
On highlights of her year: "Oh my god, my job! I’m the luckiest girl in the world. I have a job I get to go to every day and I love everybody that I work with and it’s my dream of what I wanted to do and where I wanted to do it. I’ve always dreamt of being in LA let alone coming out here with a job already it’s crazy, I can’t believe it."
On playing Annie: "We had a similar kind of life changing experience happen when the show started so we’ve been on a similar journey just trying to figure out who we want to be here and what we want people to know about us and what we want to know about people and who we can trust and that’s a big part of the game - meeting new people and figuring it out, so I’m definitely going along the road with her."
Annalynne on her initial reservations to take the part: "I was coming off of Nip/Tuck and I really wanted to move into film. I have FOC issues - fear of commitment. Signing a big 5-6 year contract was scary, but it’s been such a great opportunity and I’ve had so much fun and I’m so happy to be in the middle of it. We’re ¾ done with the season now so it’s really cool."
On her other projects: "My agents are working hard, but if I don’t have the exact project that I really want and if I don’t really believe in it I’m just going to take a break, go abroad, maybe go to Europe, Asia. I want to make sure that my next move is strategic."

Mark Ruffalo Shows Off His Newborn Daughter

The adorable Mark Ruffalo took his new daughter, Odette, out for lunch with Ethan Hawke yesterday. There's nothing cuter than seeing a man proudly show off his bundled up baby of joy. While Mark doesn't look like he's lost much sleep over his newborn, poor Ethan looks like he has.

More good news for Mark. Even though Reservation Road turned out not to be a huge hit, you all voted Zodiac as best thriller of the year. You win some, you lose some, and it looks like Mark is ending the year on a big upside considering that cute grin he's sporting for the cameras.

Mark Ruffalo Doesn't Pack Light

Mark Ruffalo was all hot and rugged making his way through LAX yesterday afternoon. Only a little more than a week after the birth of his third child, Mark looks surprisingly well rested (maybe he hasn't been on the late night duty). Judging by that big ol' bag of his Mark may be gone for a while. That, or he's leaving some room in the bag to buy a whole bunch of Christmas presents for his three little ones. While Mark's Reservation Road wasn't my favorite movie of the year, next week he's got an interesting little movie, Margaret, costarring Matt Damon and Anna Paquin, coming our way. Wouldn't mind seeing those two guys do a little promotional junket together, if you know what I mean.
