Ben Lets Casey Have the Spotlight

A very tan Ben Affleck and his brother changed from one set of suit jackets into another for an Esquire dinner party in Casey's honor in London last night. The boys are overseas doing a UK promotional tour of Gone Baby Gone and Ben's protective pose with Casey shows how close these two really are. We have a feeling the boys spend plenty of time goofing around with each other, but in a recent interview, Ben made it clear that it was all business on the set. He told the Daily Mail:

My brother Casey [who stars as a private detective] isn't in the movie because of who he is. Nobody who sees the film could possibly think that. It was my job to help Casey flourish. I knew that he would be great and that he was going to surprise people. When you are working with your brother, there is always the risk that the discussions could degenerate [into rows]. But we both knew we had to take it seriously.

Right from the start, Ben has assured us that Casey's role in the film was more than just a favor but the fact that he's still driving the point home shows that a big brother's work is never really done.

Keira and James Atone in LA

Keira Knightley and James McAvoy were once again utterly without smiles at last night's LA premiere of Atonement. Lighten up, guys! Keira was showing off more dramatic new bangs to go along with her dramatic dress. Bella wants to know what you think about her red carpet look - love it or hate it? Keira is pretty into displaying her sternum these days, as last night's flesh toned frock definitely reminded me of her London premiere dress from September. As for the movie? I can't wait to check it out especially after reading how much Buzz enjoyed it. See Keira, we love you even if you hate to smile.

A Rachel-less Ryan Premieres Fracture

Yesterday most of you were all for Ryan and Rachel getting married but once again he showed up at an event without her. Last night he attended the premiere of Fracture with his sister Mandy. At the Oscars he brought his mom and sis since Rachel was busy working. The two recently traded lots of compliments in interviews so we're assuming Rach must have been busy working the other night as well. Too bad for us.

As for the film, Ryan plays an ambitious DA caught in a cat and mouse game with a tricky killer played by Anthony Hopkins. For more on the film and the trailer just click here. It opens April 20th.

Winners (and Non) Raise a Glass at the Governors Ball

Whether they won or lost last night, the nominees got together after the Awards for the Governors ball. George and Sarah stuck to water while he made the rounds introducing her to everyone. He was also happy to point out to everyone how good she looked (though you might not agree) and offered to carry her when she commented about her dress being too heavy. Sigh. Casey didn't walk away with a statue but still came to the party, while other also-rans Viggo and Cate had a moment over her pregnant belly. By the end of the party, I'm sure all the a-listers were ready to get out of the formal wear.
