Eva Mendes Visits Ryan Gosling on Set in Thailand

Ryan Gosling has been in Thailand for the past few weeks working on Only God Forgives, and his girlfriend, Eva Mendes, flew over this week for a visit. He was spotted continuing his martial arts training at a gym on Monday, and Eva ventured out solo to get a snack yesterday. Eva has been in LA focusing on her own movie-making during the last month, but made time to keep an eye on Ryan's beloved dog George. Ryan's project sees him pairing up yet again with his Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn. Their shooting schedule means Ryan's been missing out on award season back in LA. Ryan was up for numerous awards for his acting in both Drive and George Clooney's The Ides of March, but he unfortunately missed out on nabbing a coveted nod from the Academy.

Ryan and Eva met last Summer on the set for another film, The Place Beyond the Pines. In the March issue of Marie Claire, Eva spoke for the first time about shooting alongside Ryan. She said, "He’s your dream costar. I have never felt so creatively satisfied on a film."

Ryan Gosling and His Drive Director Break From Filming For a Thai Red Carpet

Ryan Gosling made the most of his time in Thailand with an appearance at the Hua Hin International Film Festival last night. Ryan, director Nicolas Winding Refn, and Nicolas's wife Liv Corfixen were there to support the action film, Drive, which is screening at the event. Ryan's girlfriend, Eva Mendes, didn't make it since she's in LA taking care of Ryan's dog, George. As the group headed inside, Ryan even stopped to pose with popular Thai actress Krystal Vee.

Ryan is overseas working on his next project with Nicolas, Only God Forgives, which means he's missing out on award season in the US. Ryan isn't up for any honors at this weekend's SAG Awards, but he will still have a presence at the big show. A signed version of the white scorpion jacket Ryan wore in Drive is up for auction, along with other items and experiences related to the year's biggest movies - you can bid in the online SAG Awards auction until Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. PT! He was catching a flight out of town, but the actor should be back in LA soon since his award season obligations kick off tonight with the People's Choice Awards. His Crazy, Stupid, Love is nominated for favorite comedy movie while Drive is in the spotlight at tomorrow's Critics' Choice show. The drama is up for best picture and Ryan is in the running for best actor. Ryan's red-carpet streak will continue on Sunday with the Golden Globes - fill out a Golden Globes ballot for a chance to win! - where he's going up against George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and others in the best actor category. We're looking forward to Ryan getting sexy in suits and tuxedos in the coming days, though we'll have to wait and see who ends up by his side for the cameras.

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes snuck in some late-night time on the location of Ryan's new project in LA yesterday. Ryan's apparently directing something, and the set included a large horse as a prop. He got behind the camera for the shoot after spending the last few days working on his fitness with regular mixed martial arts classes. Ryan's been emerging sweaty and barefoot from the boxing sessions, which he kicked off just last month. He missed a few workouts, though, when he traveled to NYC to celebrate New Year's Eve with Eva.

The couple are going strong into 2012 after they began dating late last year. They cozied up while filming The Place Beyond the Pines in the Summer, and they should be side by side to promote the movie ahead of its release later this year.
