Christina Applegate Is Good Girl/Bad Girl, Who?

Christina Applegate got herself a fancy updo to head into Regis and Kelly to promote her new TV show Samantha Who. Considering she is often the best part of whatever project she works on, I have high hopes that she'll add some awesome female-lead funny into primetime TV. On the show Christina plays a girl who wakes up after a car crash not remembering anything, only to learn that she was a pretty nasty person beforehand. Christina talked to Access Hollywood about her show, and playing the good girl/bad girl role. She said:

Via the flashbacks on the show, you get to play both good and bad.
She was pretty awful but I love getting to play bad Sam, it is a lot of fun. It is a different hair, different voice, different walk, it’s a different behavior. It’s a lot of fun in the middle of the week to be able to switch gears and do something different.

You may have yourself a winner with this series.
It would be nice (knocks on wood). I really do like this show. I get to watch the cuts before they go off and I’m really proud of what everyone is doing. [Pilots are so hard]. You try to get all this information into 22 minutes, but the rest of them? Now we get these characters and you get to see them flourish and live. It’s quite good if I say so myself.

Hopefully the world will feel the same when they meet Miss Samantha tonight. Check out Buzz to see some previews of the show, tonight at 9:30 on ABC. I've got a (pathetically) full TV schedule these days, but I may have to make room for one more.

Christina Who?

Most recently Christina Applegate has been seen on Broadway but the veteran TV actress is returning to primetime this fall in an ABC comedy called Samantha Who?. We got a sneak peek of the cast's chemistry at the TCAs earlier this summer and of all of ABC's comedies, this was the most promising. The show looks fun, witty and co-stars the adorable Barry Watson (from What About Brian but with the haircut!). We've been a fan of their shows in the past so we're definitely planning on checking it out when it airs. ABC Comedies: Cavemen, Carpoolers and Christina

Including Cashmere Mafia, ABC clearly has a theme for things beginning with C this season. Christina Applegate returns to the small screen in Samantha Who? as an alcoholic bitch who gets into an accident and awakens from a coma with retrograde amnesia which means she can function normally but can't remember her past. The cast also includes the cute Barry Watson (What About Brian) and the spicy Jennifer Esposito. The funniest part of the panel was when someone asked if in real life any of the characters wished they could forget and redo something they'd done in real life. Jennifer Esposito seemed to think that question was hilarious. Perhaps she was thinking of this.

Carpoolers is about a bunch of boys who - you guessed it - spend a lot of time in the car together. Jerry O'Connell and Faith Ford are the two biggest names and I am happy to say this show was surprisingly funny. Maybe it's because I had low expectations but watching this group interact on the panel was pretty hilarious. Jerry plays the womanizing bachelor that comes across as slightly cheesy. He admitted to practicing his lines at home with his brand new wife. He said she gets a real kick out of it. Also hilarious - T.J. Miller, the guy in his red track suit. As for Cavemen, the show based on a Geico ad - well, I'll let you decide that one for yourselves.

Jay-Z brought out a star-studded crowd for his show in LA last night. Jamie Foxx checked out the show as news broke that he'll be bringing back his favorite '90s alter ego, and Justin Timberlake took a break from practicing his golf game to walk hand-in-hand with Jessica Biel. Nicole Richie had a busy weekend of red carpet events, but she kept going with Samantha Ronson by her side. The famous attendees were treated to a special cameo from Rihanna, who joined Jay for "Run This Town" before she debuted a single from her album - check out the video after the jump. Jay-Z has been touring North America after his big NYC Yankees show, but he and Beyonce are still thinking of making time for a new addition.

Jude Law Has Yet to Say Hello! to Baby Sophia

Jude Law took his two sons Rafferty and Rudy along yesterday afternoon to practice their soccer skills in NYC. He's got his hands full with the boys, but it's Jude's baby daughter who's making headlines. Sophia is on the cover of Britain's Hello! magazine, with her mom Samantha Burke opening up inside about her relationship with Jude and her hopes for their future friendship. Jude's demanding schedule of performances in Hamlet on Broadway means he can't exactly pop down to Florida to meet his newest addition, but Samantha seems hopeful he'll be able to step it up and be there for Sophia.

Donatella Gets Lindsay and the PYTs to Celebrate Art in NYC

Donatella Versace gathered some friends from the fashion and art worlds in NYC last night for the Whitney Museum Gala. First up was a star-studded dinner, where Taylor Momsen and Mischa Barton mingled with Shakira and Jennifer Hudson. The festivities then moved downstairs for the afterparty, with Lindsay Lohan turning up to make a cameo. We had a quick chat with the newly-minted artistic adviser, who said she was there "for Donatella" - and the duo certainly looked close as they posed for photos. Lindsay said she arrived late for the bash due to her travels, but that she'd be sticking around the city to handle "personal business." LL apparently even opened up later about her rumored hookup with Balthazar Getty, telling Gossip Cop that she'd never do that to Samantha Ronson.

LL managed to avoid any run-ins with Samantha's family as she narrowly avoided Charlotte Ronson. Donatella was truly the woman of the evening as she hung out with Lindsay, Mischa and Shakira and they all checked out a DJ set from Gossip Girl Taylor Momsen.

Lindsay Lohan Allegedly Moves on With. . . Balthazar?!

Lindsay Lohan had to appear in court Friday to check in on her probation, and she let off steam on Saturday at Voyeur in Hollywood. LL usually rolls with a solid group of friends, but her entourage at the club that night included none other than Balthazar Getty. She and Balthazar were apparently all over each other at a table right by the door, not worrying about who saw them getting close. Lindsay recently tweeted multiple times about troubles with Samantha, but a public makeout session with someone else is a pretty good way to get a message across. Once the weekend of fun was over, LL hopped on a flight to NYC where she was spotted on a stroll earlier this morning.

Lindsay's Back to Reality and Talking to Samantha

Lindsay Lohan had her sister Ali by her side last night for the launch of her Sevin Nyne tanning spray at a Sephora in Santa Monica. The girls just finished getting a real tan on their bikini-filled Hawaiian vacation, but Lindsay got down to business for interviews at her event. She wasn't just pushing her products - LL also chatted about Samantha, revealing that they're still friends who talk. One ex who won't be getting in touch with Lindsay, though, is Harry Morton. He apparently wants to put their 2006 summer romance behind him, saying, "I'd like to be known for stuff I've created or things I've done. I don't want to be known for that. No way." It's not like Lindsay's wasting any time looking back on Harry anyway, since she's rumored to still be trying to engineer a reconciliation with Sam.
