The first big weekend of the 2010 Sundance Film Festival may have ended, but the celebrities are still flocking to Park City to promote their movies. Katie Holmes rolled in last night for the premiere of her film The Extra Man, as Ryan Gosling wrapped his panel discussion for Blue Valentine. Naomi Watts arrived at the premiere of Mother and Child solo, but Diego Luna had his wife to keep him company on the red carpet for his film Abel. Halle and Taraji Are Ladies Who Lunch

Halle Berry met up with Academy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson yesterday afternoon for ESSENCE magazine's Black Women in Hollywood luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel. There's extra cause for celebration this year, as it's only the second time in Oscars history that two black women, Taraji and Viola Davis, are nominated in the category of Best Supporting Actress. As someone with her own statue at home, Halle probably has a great deal of guidance to offer first-timer Taraji - starting with how to pick a memorable gown.

Mark Celebrates Christmas With Family and Basketball

Mark Wahlberg brought his daughter Ella and brother Donnie to see the Lakers beat the Celtics in LA on Thursday evening. As usual, lots of other celebs were there too - Adam Sandler and Kevin James watched things from their courtside seats alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Denzel Washington. Even though Mark spent this part of his Christmas away from the rest of his family, he and girlfriend Rhea Durham recently stocked up on gifts and they probably had a fun morning of unwrapping presents with all three kids before bringing Ella along for sports night.

Scarlett and Samuel Are Like Ricky and Lucy in Spirit

Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson stopped by The Today Show this morning to help promote The Spirit. Over the weekend the costars gave a press conference in NYC, where they jokingly pushed and teased each other while talking about what it was like to play villains together. Frank Miller, who wrote and directed the movie, called Scarlett "one of the greatest comedic talents of our time" and said working with her was like "working with a young Lucille Ball." Here's more:

Scarlett, on why she chose the film: "I’m not really a comic book fan. That world always seemed kind of exclusive to me. What brought me to this project was Frank. I loved Sin City and 300 and I thought 'He must be a pretty interesting fellow.' I’d gotten a script and there really wasn’t any part for me, the Silken Floss character was kind of unwritten. . . we met and had this wonderful three-hour lunch meeting . . . at the end of it I'm like, 'I'm sad there's nothing for me to do.' And he's like, 'I'll think of something.' He decided to expand this character and I got super super lucky. That was really it for me."
On working with Samuel: "As far as Sam and I, it’s funny that [Frank] said Lucille Ball . . . the kind of comedy that we’re in, I feel like Sam was kind of the Lucy and I was the Ricky."
On being eye candy: "The character, she knows that's what she’s offering to the Octopus, and it's part of her appeal. She’s this giant brain who looks fantastic in a short skirt . . . These are her humble beginnings."

On his role: "It’s quite an honor to walk into a situation and put flesh and blood into a character. He gave me license to pretty much be as demented and as genius and as . . . that’s what I wanted. I kind of took that as my license to do all the things that I’ve ever wanted to do in a film and chew as much scenery as I felt like chewing and not be criticized for it. "

Frank Miller and the actors already seemed to be anxious to get to work on a sequel, but first we'll have to see how the holiday crowds treat The Spirit when it comes out Dec. 25.

Scarlett Johansson and Eva Mendes continued their The Spirit press tour, stopping off in London last night. The dynamic duo was joined by costar Samuel L. Jackson and director Frank Miller for this red carpet and it looks like this group isn't sick of each other yet. Scarlett and Eva are both already showing off an impressive dress collection, even if the new Mrs. Reynolds is half of your second favorite newlyweds of 2008, she doesn't need her hot husband to make a hot appearance.

JT Makes Jokes and Helps Honor Samuel L. Jackson

Samuel L. Jackson was honored by friends and colleagues last night at the American Cinematheque gala in LA. The event was sponsored by AMC, so Jon Hamm was out with his girlfriend to support Mad Men's home network, while JT hammed it up on stage. To help roast his former costar, he said, "I am here because onscreen and off, I feel nothing but love for the great Samuel L. Jackson. At least for tonight that mysterious 'L' stands for 'Love,' man love - and there's nothing wrong with it." Kerry Washington and Denzel Washington were also among the celebrity presenters of the night, but we'll have to watch it on Dec. 9 to see who stole the show.

Will and Jada's Family Fun on Lakeview Terrace

Will Smith and Jada put on their big red carpet smiles out to support her brother Caleb Pinkett at his premiere of Lakeview Terrace in NYC last night. As for Caleeb's costars, Samuel L. Jackson had his usual Kangol while Kerry Washington was all wrapped up in red. Will produced the film, which he was excited to gush about and when asked about playing Barack Obama on screen he said, "That's great! As soon as he writes the end of the story; we're going to help him write the end of the story in the next couple of weeks." Not the first time it's been suggested but I suspect before Will takes on acting as Obama, he'll be stumping for the candidate as the race heats up.

Justin Turns Up The Laughs To Host the ESPY Awards

After the glamorous and sunny red carpet, Justin Timberlake took the stage to host the ESPY Awards in LA last night. While JT cracked up the crowd imitating Tony Romo's girl Jessica Simpson with a life sized cut out in between big musical numbers, some of our favorite athletes hit the podium to accept their prestigious awards. JT even took a shot at himself saying about his infamous Superbowl show, "I wanted to be the only guy at a football game to get to second base." He wasn't the only one bringing the laughs - even Will Ferrell took home a statue. While Justin's girlfriend Jessica Biel stuck to the backstage fun, there were cute starlets aplenty with Kristen Bell as just one of the presenters. Check out the show this Sunday on ESPN - I know I can't wait to see how JT's Jessica Simpson impression went.

The Stars Come Out For the Awards Show For Athletes

It's aways fun when two worlds collide, like last night when athletes and celebrities came together for the ESPY Awards. Pretty boy Zac Efron showed off his tan from his recent steamy vacation with Vanessa while adorable Dave Annable smirked and Samuel L. Jackson smiled wide. Kate Walsh looked hot in her little purple dress, and VS supermodel Adriana Lima looked to be having a blast with her fiance, basketball player Marco Jaric. Of course all eyes were on David and Victoria Beckham, who was apparently so sunny she couldn't even take off her shades. Things are obviously going well for the couple who, according to David's blog, love LA and "can’t imagine being anywhere else in the world right now."
