Jennifer and Marc Help Shine A Light In NYC

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony made their first red carpet appearance since the birth of the twins at last night's NYC premiere of Shine A Light. The Martin Scorsese directed documentary about two Rolling Stones concerts in 2006, mixed in with archive footage of the rockers. Of course, the band was out to celebrate the movie as well. J Lo and Marc aren't quite known for the same genre of music, but when there are two little newborns to be cared for back at home they're certainly rock stars in their own right for looking so fresh, fabulous.

Paris Shines Her Light on Benji

Paris and Benji spent another day checking out all that LA has to offer, this time grabbing lunch at Prego in Beverly Hills before heading to the DCMA store yesterday. It's no secret that Paris is her own biggest fan, but Benji is stepping it up to challenge her for the title. The heiress couldn't help gushing about the song Benji wrote for her at the LG launch party Monday night, saying, "He actually wrote me a beautiful song, and actually recorded it in the studio. He surprised me with it. It's called, 'Shine Your Light.' It's this really beautiful love song about me. It was the sweetest thing that anyone has ever done for me." Maybe Ms. Me can return the favor if she gets around to recording another album.

Friday Night Lights Still Shining For Minka Kelly

Great news for Minka Kelly - so let's skip the whole here she is walking her dog in LA yesterday bit and go straight to the good stuff. Friday Night Lights may (fingers crossed!) be coming back for a third season. Most of the show's fans thought that it was dead in the water after the lackluster and totally depressing abrupt (due to the writers' strike) end to season two. The new season would be thanks to some deal NBC made with DirecTV, the details of which are still a mystery, but no matter what I'm happy. Yay for more Minka and yay for more FNL.

Idol's Top Eight Go Back to Their Youngest Years

Last night on American Idol, the top eight sang songs from the years they were born. There were cute moments - baby photos! - but as a whole the performances were pretty lackluster. Danny Gokey kicked off the night with a song that was most certainly not released the year he was born (1980), "Stand by Me." This started things off on an odd foot for me because I totally disagreed with the judges - they liked it and I thought it was perhaps his weakest performance yet. This might be the first time he doesn't get the absolute most votes. Kris Allen continued to be the sweetest and, as the judges pointed out, likable contestant, but "All She Wants to Do is Dance" wasn't his most shining moment either. Unfortunately, things only got worse for Lil Rounds's disappointing "Whats Love Got to Do With It" and Scott MacIntyre's "The Search Is Over." Though, who knew he could play the guitar?

Now for the high points: other than Gokey, who is certainly safe, there seems to be a small pack rising to the top. Matt Giraud's "Part-Time Lover" was right on point, even if the judges didn't have time to give him much critique, while Allison Ihareta's "I Can't Make You Love Me" was a refreshing change of pace for her. Anoop, dog, this was light years better than last week, but I'm just not sure he's going to go much further. Then, then there was Adam Lambert. He might be the most divisive contestant this year, but last night's "Mad World" was a gorgeous song and he did it justice. Without time for anyone but Simon to comment, he simply gave Adam a standing ovation. That had to help win over a few reluctant fans. My guesses for the bottom three: Scott, Lil, and, sadly, Kris. Happy New Stepmom Gisele Brings Adorable John to the Park

Gisele Bundchen brought her stepson John Moynahan to a park in LA yesterday for an afternoon on the playground. Gisele seems happier than ever publicly playing with John who is already a looker just like his dad. Gisele doesn't usually talk about her personal life, but she made an exception as the covergirl of April's Harper's Bazaar where her happiness and maternal instincts couldn't help but shine through. Here are highlights:

On Tom: "Tom is a good guy. He has a very pure heart. He's very naive, almost like a child. That is my favorite quality about him. One thing that I thought was so amazing when I first met him is that he is innocent. He sees the world with colored glasses. . .It's beautiful, but I think that is rare. I love that about him. No one else sees that. He's very strong and focused in his job, but he's so sensitive, it's amazing."
On having a family: "I want to have a big family. My parents have been together for 36 years, and that is what I want. I am in that place. It's all good in that part of my life. It's one part of my life that I'm learning about every day. I've been challenged a lot by it, but it's the most rewarding part. . . I love kids," she says, smiling, her eyes lighting up. "It's amazing that I have the opportunity to hang out with my stepson all the time. He is so kind. He loves blueberries, and every now and then my dog, Vida, tries to get some food from him. He is so nice that he will give her the blueberries first. He is so cute and has such a sweet demeanor.""
On her past: "I was drinking a lot of red wine, smoking a pack and a half of cigarettes a day, and eating cheeseburgers all day. I was treating my body, which is my temple and my best friend, as my worst enemy. I was almost punishing myself. I was so tired. I was working so much, and I was numb. . . If you are happy, you can give happiness. If you don't love yourself and if you are unhappy with yourself, you can't give anything else but that."

Lucky Gisele on that last quote. Otherwise, she seems sweet and happy - after all the criticism and rumors at this point it's hard not to see the newlyweds through Tom's rose-colored glasses. To see more photos of Gisele and John just read more.

Leighton, Emmy, Liv and Maggie All Go Piaget Partying

It was ladies' night at the Rockefeller Center Loft and Garden with cocktail dresses and hot shoes galore. Piaget hosted the Limelight Paris-New York jewelry collection for the beautiful familiar faces including Maggie Gyllenhaal, Liv Tyler, Emmy Rossum and an extra light haired looking Leighton Meester. At the party Leighton talked about feeling comfortable but a little bit sexy as well as revealing some about her new royal Gossip Girl love interest. With the jewels on display and all these pretty ladies to admire them, looks like a shining night in the muggy Manhattan Summer.

Leo Is Gorgeous and Green

If there is one thing Leo cares about it's definitely the environment. The actor attended the Gorgeous and Green event in SF last night which benefits Global Green USA. We will never get tired of Leo fighting to make our home a more environmentally friendly place to live. He's now using Yahoo! Answers to ask questions about global warming. Here's more:

"We can all be environmentalists," DiCaprio, 32, said in a statement to The Associated Press. "Creating communities online that are interested in discussing and embracing smart, simple and serious solutions reminds us we can all take action in our own homes and where we work."

The United States "can set an example for the rest of the world by protecting our cities and protecting ourselves," he said.

The environmental organization Global Green USA invited DiCaprio, who serves on its board of directors, to post the question online.

"It's meant to provoke thought about what people can do in their own lives and what leaders can do to take us in a different course," said Matt Petersen, president and chief executive of Global Green USA. "We're fortunate to have (DiCaprio) on our board because he can help shine the light on the challenge, shine the light on the experts and shine the light on the solutions."

Isla Moves On To The Cookie Queen

Isla was looking pretty laid back at lunch at the Farmer's Market in LA yesterday. We haven't heard anything lately about her rumored pregnancy and of course these pictures don't really shine a light on anything either. Audreystar points out that they are not denying it so that's good to know! In other Isla news, the latest film she's signed on for is called The Cookie Queen. It's a comedy about a woman who tries to stop a fifth grader from breaking her 20-year-old record for selling the most Girl Scout cookies. Sounds hilarious and we can't wait to see her funny personality back on screen!
