Ashton and Charlize Take In a Match

Charlize Theron and Ashton Kutcher headed to Pasadena last night for the World Football Challenge. The action on the field was between the Chelsea and Inter Milan, but Ashton and Charlize kept the photographers busy on the sidelines and blue carpet. Charlize spoke before the match in her black dress about how her charity, the Africa Outreach Project, is organizing soccer games for underprivileged kids in South Africa. Ashton's no stranger to philanthropic endeavors of his own, but the evening's focus was on Charlize's work - and, of course, the game.

For Charlize, It's Not Easy Pretending to Be Ugly

Charlize glowed in gold (with a questionable hairstyle) alongside her co-star Nick Stahl at a screening of Sleepwalking in NYC last night. In the past few years she's earned a bit of a reputation for choosing roles that hide her beauty, and her newest film fits right in with the trend. According to the actress, her character's appearances don't have any impact on how she picks her parts, saying,

"At the end of the day, it isn’t about what I physically look like - it comes back to storytelling. If I can find a good story, [that] is all that matters; I don’t judge a character on what I physically look like. I really don't care about appearance; that is so secondary to everything else that's more important in life."

Charlize has vented her frustrations about getting picked on for her movie choices more than once, but somehow it's hard to feel bad for someone who wakes up looking like that in the morning.

Fall TV Preview: Jericho

Jericho is a haunting drama that takes place in a small town in the middle of Kansas which has been cut off from the rest of the world after what appears to be a nuclear attack on the United States. Jake Green (Skeet Ulrich, Scream) plays a a self-proclaimed "screw-up" who has returned to his hometown after 5 years to collect his inheritance from his grandfather. While he is home, we learn that he and his father, the Mayor of Jericho, do not get along. In fact the Mayor would like Jake to please leave for another 5 years so as not to jeopardize his upcoming reelection. Happy to take his money and run, Jake leaves town almost as soon as he arrives. On his way out of town, an apparent nuclear explosion erupts in Denver, forcing Jake to remain in Jericho. The town erupts in chaos as everyone scrambles to hoard food, water and gas. The show premieres tonight at 8/9c on CBS. The premise of the show has great expectations, but we just hope it can live up to them.

CBS Still Boring

The only shows I care about on CBS are How I Meet Your Mother, Amazing Race and Letterman. However, a lot of people like the CSI type shows so the network seems to be doing well enough to be making just a few changes in their fall schedule. The will introduce only 4 new show, 3 dramas and 1 comedy. The comedy has Jason Ritter and it's on after Mother so we'll be checking out that one for sure.
