SJP and Ellen Page Are Bright Ladies at Smart People

Surprisingly, Ellen Page was the girly looking one at last night's NYC premiere of Smart People. Sarah Jessica Parker, on the other hand, went a little more rock star with her leggings, leopard print and hot pink. The cute little ladies' costars Dennis Quaid and Thomas Hayden Church were both on hand for the event. This was one of the hot movies at Sundance Film Festival and with such an adorable and talented cast, I can't wait to finally see it when it hits theaters April 11.

SJP and Matthew Have Lots To Celebrate at Sundance

It was back to back nights of Sundance premieres for the Sarah Jessica Parker/Matthew Broderick power couple with Sunday bringing out her Smart People and Sunday featuring his Diminished Capacity. Both actors were happy to accompany their other halves to the big premieres - awwww. While I've heard good things about SJP's project with Dennis Quaid and Thomas Haden Church, I was actually there to see Matthew's movie last night. It's an incredibly sweet and funny film - Matthew plays perfectly slightly neurotic but hilarious while Alan Alda was just great as Matthew's elderly uncle. Plus, I can't not gush a little about seeing SJP again (this time from afar, though Sunday's treat of seeing her interviewed was thrills enough) as she came into the theater to a sea of flashing cameras of other audience members. Definitely a great weekend in Park City for all the stars and makers of these two films.

SJP is there for her Smart project, but of course everyone wants to hear about Sex and the City especially the new addition to one of the star's families. Christopher Noth's girlfriend had a baby over the weekend and Sarah was happy to gush about the new dad. She said, "I'm thrilled for him because I think first of all he's going to make a wonderful, wonderful father...He found a lovely lady to have a child with. It's the perfect time for him and I think he's very ready." Mr. Big Daddy? Sorry, sorry, I had to.

Janet Opens Up All About Michael and Love For Harper's Bazaar

Janet Jackson sat down with Harper's Bazaar for her first interview since the death of her brother Michael earlier this Summer. It's been a challenging few months for Janet - in addition to the loss of Michael, she also parted ways with her longtime boyfriend, Jermaine Dupri. She took a break from filming Tyler Perry's new film and working on her next album to talk about Michael's passing, his children, and being newly single. Here's more:

On avoiding the news after Michael's death: "It will drive you crazy. People can have rhinoceros skin, but there's a point when something's going to hurt you. Not everyone is stone, stone. I haven't watched the news in weeks. I had to ask my chef, 'How's Obama doing?' I haven't read a newspaper."
On Paris Jackson's emotional speech at Michael's tribute: "I was really proud. People said to me that Michael's daughter speaking really gave them a sense of how he was as a father, in her words. Paris is incredibly smart; they are all so smart. She's a sweet girl. The kids are doing well. They're with all their cousins; that family love will keep them going."
On being single after seven years with Jermaine: "I don't know if I'll get married again. I'll put it like this: If God wants me to, then I will . . . I've had people ask me out. I haven't entertained any offers thus far, but I'm locking myself in my work right now."
On Michael's legacy: "It's so beyond. I can't even begin. It's on so many different levels. Bringing light and love and happiness. He's just got so much love, and so much heart, and so much power through his music. Children and his love for children. People have told me, 'I am an American citizen because of your brother.' He wrote them a letter or something. He was just that giving, loving person. And the greatest entertainer there ever was. And is. I hope people get a glimpse of him now, some sort of picture."

Megan Fox Is Definitely Entertaining

Megan Fox is on the cover of this week's Entertainment Weekly to chat about her upcoming film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Her costar Shia LaBeouf has earned himself the reputation of an open book because of his tendency to overshare in interviews, but Megan is right up there with him. She sat down with the magazine to chat all about her career, Angelina Jolie, and her are-they-or-aren't-they relationship with Brian Austin Green. Here's more:

On saying she's afraid of Angelina: "I was joking! She always seems otherworldly in her power and her confidence. I'm sure she has no idea who I am. But if I were her, I'd be like, 'Who the f-ck is this little bulls-it brat who was in Transformers that's going to be the next me?' I don't want to meet her; I'd be embarrassed."
On growing up wanting to be famous: "Well, yeah, because that's how you measure success in Hollywood, really. But you have no idea what this life is like until you are living it. I used to sit back and think, ''Please, Britney Spears has the best life ever - she has everything she could ever want!' But she has one of the worst lives. Her life is a living f-cking nightmare. I have panic attacks thinking about her life."
On working with Lindsay Lohan on Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen in 2004: "That was prenightmare. We didn't get along, but we were, like, 17, so of course we didn't get along. Girls are catty; they don't like each other."

On her relationship with Brian: "Brian and I are not engaged, because when you're engaged, your goal is marriage. And I don't think that's a realistic goal for me right now. On being referred to as a sex symbol: "It doesn't bother me. I don't know why someone would complain about that. That just means that the bar has been set pretty low. People don't expect me to do anything that's worth watching. So I can only be an overachiever. I think all women in Hollywood are known as sex symbols. That's what our purpose is in this business. You're merchandised, you're a product. You're sold and it's based on sex. But that's okay. I think women should be empowered by that, not degraded."
On why girls don't usually like her: "I think most people are extremely insecure. As far as girls go, I have a really bad-ass personality. I'm smart and I can be really funny and interesting and I can go toe-to-toe with anybody in a conversation. So I'm not afraid to speak, and I think that's what people read as this überconfidence. I have a mouth and I'm not afraid to use it."

The photos show a perfect balance of sexy and flirty, and it's refreshing to see Britney smiling and laughing again. Here are more highlights from the article where the pop star talks about her boys, her ex, and her music:

On Kevin Federline: "I didn't think my husband was gonna leave me. Otherwise, I'd be with my babies 24/7. But since they're almost like twins, they both take care of each other. I think they look like me. They don't look like their father at all."
On the boys: "Every time they come to visit me, I think about how they're such special people . . . Like, they're going to preschool now! I went there to pick them up on Friday, and seeing them in their little classroom and seeing Jayden being bad or not listening? It's like, those are mine, and it's just crazy, you know what I mean? And the things that are coming out of their mouths right now - they're learning so much, and it's new, and you never know what they're going to say, and they're so smart yet so innocent. They're obsessed with monsters, and every night we look outside, and we have to show them that there's no monsters out there. It's dark outside, but there's nothin' out there, you know."
On using personal experiences in her music: "It's scary to put yourself out there and be like, 'Oh, God, is that cool?' If you're not going to really go for it, you can't just go there halfway. But sometimes, when you go for it, you can't lose."
On choosing tracks for the album: "You just hear it, and you're like, oh, my God, if somebody else takes this song, you're gonna kill yourself, you know what I mean? Like, this one I'm doing tonight, I think it's good, and it's, like, really quirky and different and girly."

It sounds like Britney is growing up and coming into her own in both her career and personal life as a mother, but without losing the sweet Southern girl she always was on the inside.

Britney Films MTV Documentary to Set the Record Straight

Britney Spears stopped for ice cream while out in LA yesterday afternoon. This week's legal headaches aside, today's a big one for Brit thanks to the debut of her video tonight on 20/20 and the official relaunch of BritneySpears.com. We're as excited as you all are to see what Britney has in store and we'll all be getting more of a peek into Britney's life soon. Lately she's been followed by cameras who have apparently been filming the pop star for a 90 minute documentary to air on MTV Nov. 30 titled For The Record - and there's a preview below. Of it she said:

"So much has gone on over the last couple of years and there's a lot that people don't know about me that I want them to know [...] I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn't being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in. This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I've been through and where I'm headed."

We will definitely all be tuning in for that one - don't miss the preview including Brit saying, "I'm a smart person, what the hell was I thinking?" That's a good question. Check it out just read more.

Lindsay, Samantha, and Emmy Stars Celebrate the Night Away

After the highs and lows of the Emmys show the party really got started. For many, the first stop was the Governor's Ball like Heidi in yet another gown before the other bashes. Some were off to the ET/People bash while others went to hear Samantha Ronson spin at Kress nightclub for the TV Guide soiree. Lindsay Lohan came along for the ride and acted as a pillow for Samantha after a long weekend of gigs. Best Dressed candidate Hayden kept posing pretty before tonight's big Heroes return. The Mad Men folks had a lot to celebrate making history with their Best Drama Series win. In the press room the cast were clearly loving every second of it taking photos of each other on their iPhones, Jon Hamm pretending to light a cigarette as an homage to the Don Draper inside him while January Jones talked about how the first season Betty was "imploding" and this season she's "exploding" - and it looks like they all exploded a bit partying the night away with the rest of the television stars.

Anne Opens Up About Raffaello While He Pleads Guilty

Anne Hathaway looks regal on the October cover of W magazine, but inside she gives the first peek into her fragile state talking about everything that happened in the wake of her breakup with Raffaello Follieri. The ex in question, Raffaello, pleaded guilty to all 14 counts against him today in an attempt to get less jail time and will be sentenced on Oct. 3, just the latest in the ongoing saga. Anne's interview took place three weeks after her breakup and his arrest, and while the actress is far from over it, she seems ready to emerge stronger than ever. Here are some highlights:

On when the news broke about Raffaello: "Right now I don’t have the wherewithal to be anything except professional. As soon as I found out about the arrest, I had to get on a plane to Mexico to do a press tour for Get Smart. And then I spent a week in shock at a friend’s house. And then I had to go back and do more press, and I haven’t stopped since."
On moving on: "I was up in Nyack [New York] the other night visiting Jonathan [Demme] and his family. They all had so much going on. And I just started to cry because I thought, I don’t have a life right now. And I haven’t for some time, and I just haven’t noticed."
On her friends' support: "It’s a situation where the rug was pulled out from under me all of a sudden. But just as suddenly, my friends threw another rug back under me. One said, ‘Go stay at my house.’ And Steve Carell stepped up for me during an interview when someone asked a question [about it]. He said, ‘At some point you’re going to have to talk about this time in your life. You don’t have to do it this week. I’ll take care of anything that comes your way.’ I’ve been shown such kindness. Not everyone gets that. A lot of people go through tough times alone."

It's heartbreaking to read Anne's words talking about the ongoing situation, but at least it sounds like she has an excellent support system ready to help her get through it. Hopefully soon enough we'll see that famous smile back on her face as she moves on.
