Liv Tyler Gets Smothered

Just a few years ago the closest that Dax Shepard had probably come to scoring with a lead actress was getting naked in front of Jessica Alba on Punk'd. But times they are a changing and now he's a leading man and making out with Liv Tyler on the set of their new film, Smothered. In the movie Dax plays a man who is fired from his job only to have to deal with his mother (Diane Keaton) moving in with him and his wife (Liv) pressuring him for a baby. I love Diane Keaton and we're just glad that Liv came back to work after taking a year off to spend with baby Milo. We've missed her!

Piven Feels Punk'd, Tina Loses Her Bag & More From Winners!

After taking the podium, the winners and presenters headed back to the press area to pose with their statues and field all sorts of interviews. Buzz and I were lucky enough to be back in the Press Room during last night's Emmys to catch the victorious in all their glory. Buzz has some of the best highlights from Mad Men, 30 Rock, Colbert, Stewart and more. Piven was the first to win and the first to come backstage where he quickly insulted the reality TV host opening saying he thought everyone was being "Punk'd" and called it a "celebration of nothing." Tina Fey was hilarious as always though she ran into a little trouble losing her bag! She told the room to keep an eye out for it saying, "It's a small purple purse with an iPhone in it with a picture of a naked toddler on it.” Ha. Alec Baldwin quickly dismissed questions about his personal life, but all in all the cast looked like they were having a blast glowing in their win.

When asked about who should play the Obamas, John Stewart answered, "Tina Fey and Amy Poehler." As for the Republican ticket, Stephen Colbert cast McCain with "Don Rickles" and himself as Sarah Palin "because I also have absolutely no business being vice president." When asked if that means he backs Obama, Colbert quickly responded, "Maybe I don’t want [a vice president] to be prepared. Don’t read into my words." Rihanna Tells Elle What We've Been Wanting to Hear

In between touring with Kanye and spending QT with her puppy Oliver, Rihanna made time to chat with Elle magazine for its June issue. On top of looking typically fabulous in her photoshoot, Rihanna opened up about her family, her career, and - finally! - Chris Brown. Here's more:

On Chris Brown: “We’ve always been friends, but we’re very close now.”
On the rumors about Jay-Z: "Well, it’s crazy that you ask me that. People know that it’s not true. I think it’s kinda a cliché question, and people know it’s not true, so I don’t even know why it’s still addressed to this day. I get asked about it all the time and I’m like, You’re asking, but you know the answer. I don’t even like to address it anymore.”
On her hair: "I kept telling my managers, I’m cutting my hair. I’m cutting my hair. And they’re like, ‘How short? Not too short. Cut it how short?’ And I’m like, ‘Up to here.’ [Rihanna raises her hand up to her ear] They never believed me. So when it was time to do the album cover [for Good Girl], the night before I cut it, I dyed it black. We went straight to the photo shoot, and no one at the record label knew what I looked like. When we sent the pictures over, they saw the hair and they all loved it. They loved it.”

On her formerly alcoholic father: “That was way, way, way back. We’re friends now. Now my dad is like the coolest person on the planet. He doesn’t smother me. He lets me live my life. And he’s been like that a lot, even when I was younger. He would watch me making a mistake and he wouldn’t stop me. My dad, he lets me make it and then I learn.”
On meeting Jay-Z for the first time: "I remember staring into everybody’s eyes in the room while I was singing, and at that point, I was fearless. But the minute I stopped singing, I was like, Oh my God, Jay-Z is sitting right in front of me.”
On "Umbrella": “That song is very, very magical. Because even when I travel, I can’t believe the kind of people that know that record. Their age, their nationality, they don’t speak English, but they all know that song.”

Since Rihanna is such a private star, it's a treat to hear her finally open up. We know that she has a good heart, so it's especially wonderful to hear that things are going so well for her both personally and professionally.

Celebrity Sightings, By Other Celebrities

I always wonder about what it's like when celebrities run into each other out on the streets, and now here's a photographic depiction. Kate Bosworth was out dining with Helena Christensen (perhaps to celebrate the model's new London store?) at Sant Ambroeus in NYC when they ran into Liv Tyler out grabbing lunch with Smother costar Dax Shepard. Obviously, kisses and pleasantries were exchanged, but the two groups did not combine tables. The paparazzi (who were following Kate? Liv? Probably not Dax on purpose) must have been happy with this little four-for-one lunch!

Liv and Milo's Day at the Zoo

Liv Tyler bonded with Milo at the LA Zoo this weekend. She is back at work on a new film, Smothered, with Diane Keaton and Dax Shepard. It's great that Liv has been able to strike a balance between working and spending time with her son. As for Liv's new look, Mena could use some bang advice from Liv.

Lindsay in Vanity Fair

Lindsay Lohan will be nearly nude in this month's Vanity Fair on newsstands this week. In the article she admits to an eating disorder and experimenting with drugs. Entertainment Tonight will have more on the interview and the sexy photos of LL. Here are parts of the interview as reported by People:

"I was sick," Lohan, 19, admits to Vanity Fair magazine, according to excerpts published in the New York Post. "I had people sit me down and say, 'You're going to die if you don't take care of yourself.'"

In solving her bulimia, she credits Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels with staging an intervention after she hosted the show. "I just started bawling. I knew I had a problem, and I couldn't admit it," Lohan says. "I saw that SNL after I did it. My arms were disgusting. I had no arms."

Of her look, which she says scared her when she saw photos of herself: "My sister, she was scared. My brother called me, crying."

She also says that she used drugs "a little," then quickly adds: "I've gotten that out of my system. ... I don't want people to think that I've done ... you know what I mean? It's kind of a sore subject."

The Post reports that Vanity Fair was contacted by Lohan's publicist to try to have the references to drug use removed from the story.

In her romantic life, she confesses to smothering Valderrama and pushing their relationship to the brink, because "I didn't have anyone (else) to go to" with all her problems, including those with her father, currently serving jail time for assault on a family member.

Regarding reports of a relationship with Jared Leto, all she tells Vanity Fair is, "We're great friends."
