Kate and Kirsten Help Wrap Up the Spring Fashion Fun

The 2009 Spring fashion season came to a close in Paris last night after a whirlwind month of shows in New York, London, and Milan. Lots of stars were out to celebrate, with Emma Watson, Claudia Schiffer, and Naomi Campbell taking in YSL and Chanel while Dita von Teese and Lenny Kravitz checked out Marc Jacobs's newest work at Louis Vuitton. After shopping around the city, Kate Bosworth brought her man James Rousseau to the Miu Miu show last night along with Kirsten Dunst, who is a former face of the brand. Kirsten also made time for some sightseeing, which hopefully kept her mind off the less-than-stellar opening of How to Lose Friends and Alienate People.

Blake Trades NYC and Penn for Paris and Karl

While Claudia Schiffer and Diane Kruger are fashion show regulars, the Chanel Haute Couture presentation today in Paris was a first for Blake Lively. While she's abroad Gatecrasher reports stateside on the real-life drama brewing between Blake and her co-stars. Apparently she was spotted kissing Penn Badgley while out shopping in NYC on Saturday yet she and Leighton are avoiding each other like the plague (spoiler alert: the newspaper also outs the identity of GG). While in Paris Blake only wanted to talk about how grateful she is for the new life GG has given her. She said,

“I had a normal, all-American high school experience - nothing like the kids on Gossip Girl. The amount of money the characters have is incredible. The kids on the show drink cocktails at the Palace Hotel; I was eating hamburgers at fundraisers at Fuddruckers. [But it’s] opened so many doors for me, like coming to Paris to see a Chanel show. It doesn’t even seem like a job. We’re getting paid to live in New York and wear amazing clothes.”

Posh, Kanye & Courtney Take In The Sights Of LV

Paris Fashion Week was swinging last night with the Louis Vuitton Ready to Wear Spring-Summer 2008 Show, attended by celebrity fashionistas like Posh, Courtney Love and Kanye. Check out runway pictures from the show here on Fab. Naturally, Posh checked in on her blog about her time in Paris and what she's up to for the next few weeks - including shooting a cover for American Elle in Paris (just in time for that Spice Girls reunion) and ads for her newest DVB denim line in England. I assume we'll be hearing all about Paris Fashion Week from the most prolific celebrity blogger ever, too - the Louis Vuitton Don himself of course. Court is never one to mince words, either. It's like a blogger convention over there.

Ashley & Dita Celebrate Fetish & Sky-High Loubs

Some of the chic ladies in Paris for Fashion Week took a break from the runway shows to enjoy the party thrown for the opening of the 'Fetish' Photo Exhibition Opening Party by David Lynch. Sorry, mouthful. Naturally Dita was there for the event alongside Ashley Olsen, Sofia Coppola and Diane von Furstenberg. Also in the house and contributing art of his own to the party was Christian Louboutin - you must check out these shoes he made for the exhibit. Well, if anyone could actually wear those it would totally be Dita. Me on the other hand, well, I'd take just about any of these.

Lovely Ladies Head To Versailles For Dior

Last night John Galliano debuted the 60th Anniversary couture collection for Dior and what better place to host the lavish event than opulent and ostentatious Versailles palace outside Paris. While some of our favorite Hollywood fashionistas didn't make the trek Kate, Jessica, Charlize & Ellen were lucky enough to score invites. (Side note: Dita is getting more pale by the day, right?) Naturally Anna Wintour was front and center to cast her always judge-y eye on the likes of Naomi & Gisele gracing the runway. I already gushed about Kate's look, but whose front row fashions were you loving?

Sofia on Her New Adventure

Sofia Coppola got all bundled up to take her 3-month-old daughter Romy out for a walk in frosty New York this week. Too bad we don't get to see the little one hiding in the stroller! The Marie Antoinette director recently opened up about her newest project -- being a mom. Here's more:

Motherhood is "great," she said. "Right now I'm focusing on that. The baby is only three months old. It's a lot of heating bottles, so that's what I do all day."

So now that she's been a mom for three months, does she have her new role down pat? "No, I don't think anyone has it down pat!" she said. "It's definitely a new adventure."

Marie Antoinette May Not Teach You Anything

Kirsten Dunst and the beautiful, barely looking almost 8 months pregnant, Sofia Coppola premiered their movie at the New York Film Festival. The duo spoke at a press conference to discuss the supposed boos at the Cannes Film Festival, the music selection, and how we didn't learn about Marie in school. However, apparently this film won't teach us much either. Here's more:

AP: Kirsten, what had you known about Marie?

Dunst: I'd learned what I learned in school. I never really had tried to take the time to look at a historical figure in a personal way before. When you're in school, you don't. You just memorize dates and wars.

Coppola: They don't teach us very much about foreign history in school.

Dunst: They don't. It was a small paragraph in my book, and then it was more about Napoleon and what happened after. Just like, OK, that was the queen that was beheaded.

AP: Did you have any reservations about playing an 18th century noblewoman?

Dunst: I knew the way Sofia would do it that I could do it. I knew it wasn't going to be a really self-serious film where we're going to teach people a lesson about French history, that it would be an introspective story of what she envisioned this woman's life to be like. So of course, it's a daunting thought, but I felt safe with Sofia. The reason I wanted to do it is Sofia's take on the whole thing made it very exciting.

A Different Kind of Marie Antoinette

Marie Antoinette was warmly received in LA last night after being booed at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. More importantly, however, Kirsten Dunst was looking way better last night than she has been lately. The screening was sponsored by Chanel at the Chateau Marmont. Sofia looked stunning as usual in a Chanel Spring '07 pleated chiffon dress while Kirsten cleaned up well in her Christian LaCroix halter gown.

Here is the latest trailer for the movie, which looks excellent. I'm a fan of Sofia's films and this one looks great.

Not Just Another Magazine Party

We thought the MJ show was the hottest ticket in town but from the looks of it, the Another Magazine party was a big deal as well. Kate, MK, Eva and Kirsten came to the Chelsea Club to celebrate one thing and one thing only... fashion!
