Jay-Z Hits the Town For a Launch Party With His Sister-in-Law

Jay-Z was the center of attention last night at the launch party for the new cognac, D'ussé, at the Top of the Standard. He went to the NYC hotel despite the big playoff game going down between the NY Knicks and the Miami Heat. That wasn't a problem for Jay-Z though - the Standard wheeled out a big screen so Jay could watch the action in his VIP area. Beyoncé Knowles didn't join her husband, but her little sister Solange was on hand along with Pharrell Williams and a bearded Jake Gyllenhaal, who politely declined being photographed when he arrived just before 10 p.m. Jay-Z was also treated to a soundtrack of his own greatest hits at the Standard, since DJ Jus-Ske played "Otis" and more for the crowd. Beyoncé and Jay-Z were together on Tuesday evening, when they attended a bash for mutual friend Erica Reid's new book.

Leave it to Solange Knowles to give us a bright, bold yellow look on the Met Gala red carpet. Solange stepped out on the arm of designer Rachel Roy in a custom-made creation that seriously fit her to a T. She looked completely stunning in the architectural number, giving us a dose of one of Spring's hottest trends, the peplum. Not only does the dress look amazing on her, but her accessories also made our mouths water; Solange dressed up her gown with a cool tribal cuff bracelet and stacked gold rings and carried a glittery gold clutch. Heidi Klum and Dakota Fanning, in Elie Saab, were just a few of the stars who stepped out for the annual DKMS Linked Against Blood Cancer gala held at NYC's Cipriani Wall Street last night. Solange Knowles, Ashanti, wearing Tony Ward Couture, Nate Berkus, and Vera Wang were also on hand for the charitable function, which honored Heidi. She shared, "As a mother of four, my heart breaks knowing that blood cancer kills more children in the U.S. than any other diseases." To bring further awareness to the cause, Heidi took part in a ceremony that morning to illuminate the Empire State Building in red. Heidi's adding another project to her busy schedule with the announcement that she'll design a collection of baby and kids products called Truly Scrumptious for Babies "R" Us.

While blue hair may be having a moment in the fun, when it comes to makeup, orange- and gold-toned shadows are having a moment in the sun. We pretty much already expected the tangerine-inspired cosmetics trend to take flight thanks to it being Pantone's color of the year, but we didn't realize just how much it would soar. Not just limited to a straight-up reddish-orange tone, the hue has been spotted in various interpretations, but when worn around the eyes, it has more of an edgy quality about it.

Take Solange Knowles, for instance, who applied tangerine shadow and lipstick for a bold yet cohesive effect. Then there was Leelee Sobieski who stirred things up even more, her vibrant red lip color lending an added pop to her orange sherbet-shaded eye look. For Dakota Fanning, though, it was all about ethereal style, as she offset her halo-esque headband with coordinating shimmery gold and apricot eyes. In the immortal words of the Brady's, "It's a Sunshine Day," indeed.

Julianna Margulies wore a simple black gown while Kim Catrall went with a bright blue blazer and Solange Knowles mixed things up in a printed look. Naomi Watts wore a sexy strapless Stella McCartney dress to pose on the arm of Liev Schreiber. They recently returned to the Big Apple after a trip to Barbados with their sons Sasha and Kai. Naomi wore a swimsuit and Liev went shirtless to show PDA in the ocean when they weren't hanging out with their boys during the getaway.
