Amy Winehouse's husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, was sentenced to 27 months in jail today for assault and obstructing justice, following his November arrest. - PopSugar UK

Is Spider-Man 3 the Last One?

We have not even done our best of 2006 lists and already we are reading about the must see movies in 2007. Premiere Magazine has us looking forward to next year - especially Spider-Man 3. Unfortunately, we are already hearing more about the possibility that this may be the last installment in this series. Kirsten already leaked that they may be finished and now Tobey is eluding to the same thing. The physical demands of Spider-man is one thing but now Tobey's a dad so the stunts and time away from his daughter may not be worth it anymore. Besides, he thinks number three is a good place to end the franchise. Here's more:

He says, "This might be a good place to stop - I am not tied contractually to any more Spider-Man movies. I am not completely closed to the idea of another one if it made sense but I would say the odds were in favour of this being the last one." Last month (OCT06) Maguire's co-star and onscreen love interest KIRSTEN DUNST hinted she's keen to ditch the movies too and take up art instead. She said, "I'm not the type of actress who does movie after movie."

Boo! We love Spidey and will be sorry to see it go. Still it makes sense to leave it as a trilogy. At least until the next trilogy! There's more about the film in this great article in Premiere Magazine. To check it out just read more

Spiderman 3 at Comic-Con

Spiderman 3 isn't due out until summer 2007, but some lucky fans got a sneak peak this weekend at the Comic-Con comic book convention in San Diego (remember the comic book convention in Entourage last season... same thing). Will this be the last Spiderman movie? Fans are hoping not, but they'll just have to wait and see. Here's more from Kirsten, Tobey and the rest of the cast on the third film:

"There will be some conclusions, though I wouldn't say it's necessarily the end," said Maguire, whose words were nearly drowned out by thunderous applause. "We're going to leave it open-ended. If there are stories worth telling, then we'll tell them."

The brief teaser footage blended live-action scenes with animation and computer graphics. It showed Sandman, a new villain played by Church, and offered a quick glimpse of Venom (Grace), Peter Parker's spider-like nemesis.

"He's more of a doppelganger to Peter," Grace told the crowd. "It's kind of a case study in if someone very similar to Peter got the same powers but didn't have a good upbringing."

As the director of all three "Spider-Man" films, Raimi has been immersed in Spidey's world for more than six years. A longtime fan of the comic books, Raimi said it's been a "super-dream" to make the movies, but also a "great responsibility to tell the story of this character that kids look up to as this great hero."

"Certainly you don't want to make anything that isn't worthy of their admiration," he said.

Based on early reaction at Comic-Con, Raimi has nothing to worry about. He delivered what fans wanted: Venom.

Spiderman Teases Us

Superman who? Today the teaser for Spiderman 3 was released and I am already counting down for next summer. Tobey, Kirsten and the yummy James Franco are back. New to the cast is Topher Grace, Thomas Haden Church, and Bryce Dallas Howard. The trailer looks insane. I can't believe they teased us like this. Watch and enjoy!

Tobey Gives Spider-Man 3 Two Thumbs Up

Spider-Man 3 isn't coming out until May but the boys are already busy promoting it. Tobey, James Franco and producer Avi Arad held a press conference in Toyko to talk all about the highly-anticipated third film. The boys had lots of fun joking around with each other and the reporters. When Tobey was asked what he did to prepare for his role he said "[I] just wanted to make sure I was looking really sexy." Of course, Tobey had some serious stuff to say about the webbed crusader and his dorky yet lovable counterpart as well. Here's more: (SPOILER ALERT, but probably not anything you don't know anyway)

"I do like Peter very much, he's become a big part of my life. The 'Spider-Man' world has become a big part of my life. I'm very fond of the world and the team of people that it takes to put the movies together. I've had such a good time so far on this ride. I just love my experiences and I love the world and the character."

"In terms of what's happening with Peter in this film, he goes into the film a little differently in that he's still Peter Parker and, except for his relationship with Harry Osborn, everything is his life is going very well. He's feeling that confidence, the public is adoring him and he's feeling that and letting it get to his head and he gets a little arrogant and cocky and it starts to get him into trouble. It really is funny behavior for Peter."

This doesn't sound like a man who's thinking about quitting the franchise. Hopefully his love for Spider-Man will convince him to continue donning his spidey suit in many more films to come!

Will You See Spider-Man 3 Opening Weekend?

Is Spider-Man 3 Too Much?

Tobey and the gang have been everywhere this week promoting Spider-Man 3. In just the past 10 days they've managed to have premieres in Tokyo, London, Rome, Berlin and here they are now in Moscow! In all they plan to have 9 premieres! That's not even counting all the other ways they're marketing the film, like Spider-Man 3 week in NY, trailers, magazine covers, interviews and everything else. So what do you think? Are they overdoing it?

Spider-Man 3 World Tour

The cast of Spider-Man 3 are making their way around the globe. They were in Japan last week for the Tokyo premiere and after this London show they're off to Italy for the third of nine premieres! Hopefully they love watching the film! Kirsten's even said that Spider-Man 3 is "the best collaboration of them all." We certainly hope so considering the rumor that it cost the studio $500 million!

Peter Parker Brings Spider-man 3 Home to Queens

Spider-man 3 has been around the world, but last night it premiered in Peter Parker's hometown of Queens, NY. The event was part of the Tribeca Film Festival (and Spider-man week), so you better bet all the stars of the film were in the house. Kirsten, whose birthday it was (Happy 25th!), went with shiny silver while the cute, cute (Topher? Franco? Tobey with little Spidey? Amazing) boys kept the game pretty traditional. Thus far the reviews of the film have been faint praise, but it doesn't really matter. Something tells me that Spidey will do okay for himself no matter what anyone says. Kirsten Gears Up for Spider-Man 3

Kirsten is back from the UK where she was hanging with new boyfriend Johnny Borrell. Most likely she's gearing up to do some serious promotion for Spider-Man 3, which has just announced its debut April 30th during the Tribeca Film Festival. But wait, there's more. Turns out it will actually be Spider-Man Week in NYC. Exciting events include a rap contest, web-slinger showdowns, and superhero classes.
