Ben Affleck was looking perfectly cast as a congressman while filming State of Play this weekend in Washington DC. Post Oscar celebrations and Jimmy Kimmel videos, Ben remained clean cut and shaven to keep in character for the film. We hate to sound like nagging parents but considering BFF Matt just announced he is expecting, we can't help but wonder when Violet is going to be getting herself a sibling playmate?

Mr. Affleck Goes to Washington

Ben Affleck has landed in DC to begin researching his role in State of Play. The movie was originally a dream cast reunion of Brad Pitt and Edward Norton, but those guys have bailed and Ben has replaced Norton. Affleck's character is a politician on the rise, which seems like a dream role for the actor who has certainly never shied away from speaking his mind on political matters. While in town Ben met with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and delegates from his home state of Massachusetts, and apparently all the women working on the Hill rushed to have their picture taken with him upon hearing that he was on the premises. Even if Ben was second choice for the film, it sounds like he's still ranked pretty high with the ladies down in DC.

Kate Cheerleads, Jay-Z Performs, Yankees Win in Game Two

Kate Hudson had a happier night at Yankee Stadium on Thursday when Alex Rodriguez and his team conquered the Phillies after a rough loss on Wednesday. The evening started out with Jay-Z and Alicia Keys performing "Empire State of Mind" for the crowd and John Legend taking on the National Anthem. Kate's man A-Rod is in a mini slump at the moment, but his good luck charm is here to stay - Kate's even supposedly canceled her annual Halloween party in order to watch him play in Philadelphia tomorrow.

Sienna Goes From Catwalks to Dog Walks

Sienna Miller was back in NYC walking her dog yesterday after her quick trip to England for London Fashion Week. She's in the states to resume her run in After Miss Julie, but the stylish times in the UK are continuing with other stars like Gwyneth, Freida, and Posh. Sienna recently opened up about her latest Twenty8Twelve collection and its inspiration, saying, "London girls are really at the forefront, I think my biggest inspiration. . . was driving through London. People really aren't afraid to be themselves." It's time for Sienna to switch gears from designing back to acting, as she focuses on the stage for her play's seven-week run.

Beckham Takes His Soccer Practice Seriously

David Beckham was in Almaty, Kazakhstan, yesterday for more practice time with the England team as they prepare for their 2010 World Cup qualifying match tomorrow. He's playing with his home country at the moment, but David recently spoke about how much he enjoyed his time at AC Milan and his upcoming return to LA Galaxy. He has a few Armani obligations in the UK before he returns to the states, but for now his focus is solely on soccer.

Harlow rested on her mom's baby bump as Nicole Richie carried her around LA yesterday. The girls have been holding down the fort while Joel played in a celebrity poker tournament in Monte Carlo last night. His trip hasn't been all fun and games - an employee at British Airways made Joel cover his tattoos before allowing him on a flight on Sunday. Joel took to his Twitter in outrage, and Nicole and his fans also spoke out in his defense. Now the airline is blaming the employee, stating there are no regulations against tattoos. No wonder Joel is eager to get back home, but at least he seems to be having some fun in the meantime.
