Patrick Teaches Tallulah How to Scrub In

Patrick Dempsey spent some time with Tallulah in LA this weekend shopping and washing the Porsche together. While we love seeing Patrick exercising in spandex or playing doctor on Grey's Anatomy his role as father is his most important. Patrick is just a regular dad and scrubbing one of his many cars together makes for awesome splashy memories - maybe next time those adorable twins can get in on the fun too.

Even Grocery Shopping Is Dreamy With Patrick Dempsey

Patrick Dempsey took his daughter Tallulah for a run to the grocery store on Sunday in LA. Seeing Patrick is always such a manjoyable treat, it's no surprise he helped the Grey's Anatomy season premiere score big ratings. There's no new episode this week due to the Vice Presidential debate but we can get our McDreamy fix by watching Patrick play family man in real life.

Dempsey's on Daddy-Duty

This weekend, race car driving McDreamy played his best role yet - a doting daddy. Patrick Dempsey watched as his daughter Tallulah went horseback riding in Brentwood. Looks like she could teach another celebrity baby a thing or two about riding as opposed to just observing. Tallulah turns 6 this week and who knows, maybe she'll get her very own pony as a present. Patrick spoke to ET recently about finally being able to focus on his family during the writers' strike. He said,

"We had some date nights; it was nice. I spent time with the kids and really needed that; I really needed some time to stay at home and not be on the road so much working long hours. It was fun to get some racing in as well. It's been good for me, and I'm glad we're going back to work."

Patrick Settles for Second Sexiest

Patrick Dempsey and cute Tallulah were all packed up as they left their house in LA on Sunday and headed to NYC to promote Enchanted all over. He must be excited that his new movie is kid friendly, because his little ones are a bit too young to watch daddy on Grey's Anatomy. At Saturday's Enchanted premiere, Patrick weighed in on the movie but also joked about losing the title of People's Sexiest Man Alive to Matt Damon. He said, "Always a bridesmaid, never a bride." Considering Patrick is known as McDreamy, he's got no reason to be jealous. Plus, we all know how hot he looks in a bridesmaid dress.

Patrick And Tallulah Are Over Training Wheels

Patrick Dempsey was living up to his dreamy nickname when he took his daughter Tallulah out in Santa Monica this weekend. We all know Patrick is quite the cycling enthusiast and he's even talked about getting his boys into his hobby as well. His twins might still be too small to take on a two-wheeler, but obviously Tallulah caught the biking bug and even got an upgrade to a shiny new set of wheels. We bet these two will hit the road in their spandex for some big adventures sometime soon but we're more excited to see what happens with Meredith and Derek. Patrick's Little Ones Way Less Infuriating than Grey's

On screen, Patrick Dempsey is a supportive boyfriend and renowned surgeon, but off-screen he is so much more -- a doting husband and loving father of three. Sure, that might be the cheesiest sentence ever, but after first seeing those precious little twins (and their big sister Tallulah, who apparently got a special dinner out with the 'rents this week) a few weeks back, it's hard not to be a little gushy about this family. Plus, it's easier to comment about the cute! cute! in his real life rather than think about the frustrating developments on the show. Grrrrr at the end of Thursday's episode, which begs the question posted by yiddidea, Are you still loving Grey's?

Patrick Didn't Let Dyslexia Stop Him

How cute are these two? Patrick obviously doesn't let Grey's get in the way of spending time with his daughter Tallulah Fyfe. He spent his birthday taking a ride with her. That's just one of the benefits of working as part of an ensemble cast (which, in case you missed it, scored best drama at the Golden Globes). Patrick's latest film Freedom Writer is about a teacher who helps kids in a gang-infested high school realize their potential. Patrick said he could relate to the frustrations of the kids in the movie. He was diagnosed with dyslexia at the age of 12 and ended up dropping out of high school. Here's more:

How do you think this affected you?
DEMPSEY: I didn’t really start my education until I dropped out of high school. Because of acting, I had to learn to work through my reading issues. I had private coaching. If I couldn’t read a line, I had someone tell it to me. Once I had it, I could run with it. I still do that. . . . What I don’t like about Grey’s Anatomy is they never give you the script until the last minute. I fight those anxieties every time I sit down for a table read-through. So I’m not completely over it.
Does education worry you, as a parent?
DEMPSEY: It concerns me now with my children. How do I develop them and their learning styles? Reading to my daughter has been therapeutic. I’ve gone back and started to learn to read on a very basic level. I’m reading Dr. Seuss, and I’m healing that part of myself, as well as developing my daughter.

It's great to know that he's turned a negative experience into a positive one for him and his daughter. And he's going to have a few more little ones to read to pretty soon. He and his wife are expecting twins!

Catching up with Dr. McDreamy

We all first fell in love with Patrick Dempsey as the adorable nerd in Can't Buy Me Love, and now we love the more mature, sexy Dr. Derek Shepherd on Grey's Anatomy. He just seems like the most down-to-earth, non-Hollywood, family man, who really seems to appreciate all that he has. In the current issue of US Weekly he dishes about falling in love, expecting twins and loving his fans. Here's more:

No wonder more than 25 million fans tuned in to the third season premiere on September 21, when McDreamy professed his love for his intern, Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo). “Patrick has always been an incredibly down-to-earth, kind person,” Debra Messing, his onetime Will & Grace costar, tells Us. “He has been around for a long time and has his head on his shoulders. I could not be more thrilled for him.”

Dempsey’s offscreen life is also booming. He and his wife of seven years, celebrity makeup artist and former hairstylist Jillian Dempsey, 40, are expecting twin boys. (The couple have a daughter, Tallulah, 4.) “I’m really thrilled,” Patrick said on Ryan Seacrest’s L.A. radio show September 20. “My wife looks great, we're excited, my daughter’s happy and we’re going to have a very big family very soon.”

For a guy who went from geek to chic and the famous ups and downs in Hollywood, we're happy to see him back on top. A little JCrew modeling in between didn't hurt.
