The Lakers Perform For Their All-Star Fans

The LA Lakers hit the court at the Staples Center for game five of the Western Conference Finals against the Denver Nuggets last night. The game was close, but the hometown team pulled out the big win. The audience was star-studded as usual including familiar faces like Zac Efron and Jack Nicholson while Ellen Pompeo and MIA had their men by their sides. Kim Kardashian excitedly twittered about heading to the game with Reggie Bush, though she was rooting for her friend LaLa's boyfriend Carmelo Anthony on the Nuggets. The Lakers have the chance to win the series in Denver tomorrow, but if they have to come home for game seven their celebrity good luck charms will be there to cheer them on.

Charlize, Josh and Diane Come to Each Other's Aid

Charlize Theron joined forces with Diane Lane and Josh Brolin in LA on Thursday night for the launch of the BRANDAID Foundation, which will send money to support Haitian artists. Current Oscar nominee Josh struck a few poses with past winner Charlize, while two of the Best Supporting Actress Nominees, Taraji P. Henson and Marisa Tomei, posed for photos and made their way around the room. We're sure to see lots more of Marisa, Taraji and Josh as the weekend's award festivities continue, but hopefully Charlize will also show up on another red carpet in one of her signature knockout gowns.

Halle and Taraji Are Ladies Who Lunch

Halle Berry met up with Academy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson yesterday afternoon for ESSENCE magazine's Black Women in Hollywood luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel. There's extra cause for celebration this year, as it's only the second time in Oscars history that two black women, Taraji and Viola Davis, are nominated in the category of Best Supporting Actress. As someone with her own statue at home, Halle probably has a great deal of guidance to offer first-timer Taraji - starting with how to pick a memorable gown.

Beyonce, Jennifer, Halle and More Shine at NAACP Awards

The 2009 NAACP Image Awards came to LA's Shrine Auditorium with cohosts Halle Berry and Tyler Perry leading the way. Everyone looked fantastic hitting the red carpet and mingling with old friends during the show - check out all of Fab's love it or hate it polls here. Dakota Fanning chose yet another strapless number but still looked perfectly pretty. Al Gore found his way into a conversation with Will Smith who had his wife for a date. Jennifer Hudson took home the Best New Artist award and said, "Now don't start me to crying again, y'all. It's always an honor to come home and feel welcome and to feel the love."

Rihanna was up for Female Performer of the year, but it was Beyonce who took the prize and also performed at the event. Diddy took home the award for TV Movie Actor while Will Smith and Rosario Dawson both won for Seven Pounds. Best picture went to The Secret Life of Bees - check out all the winners here. Seal performed with the choir, though it was Stevie Wonder who stole the show at his piano and Muhammad Ali who took the stage in a powerful moment.

Jake and Taraji Help Honor David Fincher's Direction

The event honored David Fincher, who Jake worked with on Zodiac. Fincher posed with actress Taraji Henson who looked lovely accessorizing her nude dress with bold jewelry. Recently Brad Pitt had been making the rounds with his director but has been busy in Japan with his family. Benjamin Button has been getting a lot of nominations this award season so its rewarding director got a night dedicated in his honor.

Angelina Loves Young Brad Just as Much as the Rest of Us

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie didn't win at the Critics' Choice Awards, but it was still a busy night for the power couple. After lighting up the red carpet, they signed posters and mingled with fellow actors like Brad's Button costar Taraji Henson. Angelina also mentioned her plans to take on fewer projects in the future and gushed about Brad's performance in the movie. She said, "When I first saw the film, there were a lot of blue masks that they had to put on his face, so the first half I didn't see his acting inside the little guy. Then, when I saw him when he was young . . . he is just so charming. I was really moved. I thought he was wonderful." Somehow we're not surprised that seeing Brad go back to his younger years was fun for Angelina, and it sounds like she's perfectly happy to keep watching her man work as she takes a break.

Angelina, Brad, Penelope & More Need No Red Carpet Criticism

Things got a little more fancy between Wednesday and Thursday in LA, between the People's Choice Awards and last night's Critics' Choice Awards. The red carpet had a few more gowns and a bit more glamour last night all leading up to Sunday's Golden Globe Awards - don't forget to fill out your ballot! Of course Brad and Angelina turned the most heads with their head to toe beauty and cozy posing. Dakota Fanning made it three for three on award show dress choices while Penelope Cruz always sets the bar high. Chris "Ludacris" Bridges was looking pretty good himself. Anne Hathaway looked happy to be there and as she walked away with a statue that smile stayed with her - check out all the winners here. Be sure to vote on all the fashion, and beauty polls. It may have been just another Thursday night most places, but the couture was out as award season ramped up last night giving us a taste of what we'll have this weekend and when Oscars roll around.

Stars Warm Up For the Oscars With a Little Lunch

The 2009 Oscar nominees got to mix and mingle with their competition at the annual luncheon thrown in their honor in Beverly Hills earlier today. Brad and Angelina sat this one out, but Kate Winslet, Penelope Cruz, Robert Downey Jr., and lots of others were happy to come out and pose in front of the the big golden statue. Anne Hathaway revealed that her big date to the event will be her dad, and she is even hoping to score extra tickets for her mother and brother. In just a few weeks this group will be separated into winners and those who are just happy to be nominated, but for now they all seem to be enjoying the honor of being recognized for their hard work.

The Ladies Go Bright on the MTV Movie Awards Red Carpet

There was a lot of color on the red carpet last night at the MTV Movie Awards in LA. Audrina Patridge led the sparkly parade in her sequined gown, while Paris Hilton and Vanessa Hudgens opted for similarly bright tones. Vanessa's breezy dress matched the sunshine, though she looked a little chilly as the night started to set in. Kristen Stewart showed her tomboy side by accessorizing with Chuck Taylors, and Megan Fox slicked her hair back and sported a LBD. Leighton Meester looked amazing in her tight dress as she walked in to join her boyfriend who skipped the red carpet.

Lauren Conrad and Sandra Bullock also kept things short. Whitney Port was showing a little skin with her white dress, as was Sienna Miller, whose showstopping dress was cut low in the back. Cameron Diaz, meanwhile, went casual in blue jeans with her costar Abigail Breslin who's quite the fashionista already. Come Inside the Governors Ball

After the big show in the Kodak Theater, the first stop for many of the attendees was the Governors Ball. Along with attending this year's Oscars via the red carpet and the press room, we were fortunate enough to have a ticket to the fancy affair. While on the inside we watched the celebrities feast on their Wolfgang Puck meal set in the Asian-themed room decor. Celebs made their way through additional television press, which included a lot of singing from the youngest of the Slumdog cast, who were some of the last to arrive. Anne Hathaway continued to make it a family affair posing with her brother. She was being greeted nonstop and barely found any time to eat her meal, which included a three-tiered chocolate dessert with an Oscar on the top. Robert Pattinson and fellow teen heartthrob Zac Efron chatted and toasted with Vanessa Hudgens before heading over to the VF afterparty. There was lots of casual mingling with peers in the ballroom and some took a few smoking breaks on the side. Heidi and Seal continued to make the rounds, but were they your favorite Oscar couple of the night?
