Gwyneth and Jake Check Out The Good Night

Gwyneth went from showing off Pleasures in Chicago to attending a screening of The Good Night in East Hampton this weekend. The film is a family affair that stars and was written and directed by her brother Jake. Unfortunately, it looks like their mom Blythe Danner missed the event, but the siblings were surrounded by lots of good family friends including Stella McCartney and Kate Capshaw. Jake wasn't sure about having his sister star in his directorial debut, but Gwyneth begged and got the part. She said, "I read the script, and I was like, Please let me be in this! It's so weird and real and amazing."

Famous Friends and Family Have A Good Night

Last night was a family affair for the Paltrows at the premiere of The Good Night. The film stars Gwyneth and is directed by her brother Jake. Their mom Blythe Danner came out to support her two kids, along with family friends Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw. Gwyneth was so moved by Jake's directorial debut she even cried onstage after the screening, saying, "I'm so proud of my brother." Sounds like the film went off without a hitch. Gwyn was evidently concerned that the unpatriotic comments she was said to have made last year (she said later she was misquoted) would hurt her brother's film. But from the big turnout at Sundance, it looks like she has nothing to worry about.

Gwyneth Worried About Screwing It Up For Her Brother

Gwyneth is still regretting the supposedly unpatriotic statements she made to a Portuguese newspaper. After admitting her comments were lost in translation due to her poor language skills, she is still worried the backlash against her will affect her brother's directorial debut film since audiences may boycott the film due to her statements. Life & Style reports:

“She’s just torn up about this,” says an insider.

The actress insists she was simply “speaking from the heart” when she spoke of her love for the English lifestyle.

“But when she went online and saw the reaction, she freaked out,” says the insider. “She called her press agent, who advised her to issue a statement that she’s proud to be an American.”

Now Gwyneth is just hoping the American public will forgive her.

Says the insider: “It would break her heart if Jake’s first major directing effort was torpedoed because she misspoke.”

In the past good movies usually win out over bad press. Hopefully people will accept Gwyneth's explanation and move on. For more pics just read more

Gwyneth Keeps It in The Family

Gwyneth seems to be losing all that baby weight by going to the same gym as Madonna. Besides working out Gwyneth has also been working with her brother Jake on The Good Night. Jake is directing the film which includes Danny DeVito, Penelope Cruz and Martin Freeman. Gwyneth is no stranger to working with her famous family but this is the first film she's done with Jake. It's about a washed-up pop star who writes jingles and has a mid-life crisis. We look forward to seeing what the family creates.

Zac Efron Talks Orson Welles With David Letterman

Zac Efron looked dapper in his suit last night as he greeted fans on the way into The Late Show in NYC. He joined David Letterman to talk about Me & Orson Welles - check out video from Zac's appearance after the jump. Rihanna Wakes Up Early For a Rated R Morning

Rihanna headed to NYC after her weekend appearance at the American Music Awards, where she wore an outrageous onstage outfit. She's touring the world to support her album Rated R, and she was at a Best Buy last night to autograph copies and even pose for photos with a few lucky fans. This morning was an early one for Rihanna, as she headed out to appear on Good Morning America. She first did a run-through in her black coat, before stripping down to her embellished white blazer to perform and chat with Robin Roberts - check out the video after the jump.

John Mayer Adds More Sex to His To-Do Lists

John Mayer stopped to greet a fan as he strolled along the streets of NYC on Saturday. He wasn't able to be in LA for last night's American Music Awards, as he had a few shows in the Big Apple over the last week and is due to take his Battle Studies promotional tour to Canada tomorrow. John has been doing a fair share of press for his new album and spoke recently with The New York Times about his record as well as his ladies' man status. Here's more:

On dating: "I should be having sex with more girls. It’s crazy to me that in my head, that being 32 and dating women is going to get me in trouble. I can’t even explain to you how terrible that feels, that I equate dating a woman with punishment, shame, guilt, disappointment, reproach, reprimand, persecution. It’s a nightmare."
On taking musical risks: "There’s nothing I’ve done musically that’s been a wild misstep. Basically, you’re saying, can you risk failure? And that’s something that I’m struggling with right now, because in my life, I would like to do something in music that risks a misstep."
On letting personal relationships take over his music: "What is the odd man out - is it the record or the coverage? I’m not going to let it be the record. I think if you’re listening to Battle Studies and you think it’s a record about high-profile relationships, I haven’t done a good enough job."

Brad Pitt had his duffel bag over his shoulder this morning as he arrived at the airport in Nice, France. He's off on his latest trip from California following his weekend night out with Angelina at the star-studded MOCA anniversary celebration. He enjoyed a good couple of weeks at home with his family, though his stay is rumored to have cost him a $5 million payday. Brad apparently skipped out on Abu Dhabi's Grand Prix Ball after the organizers offered him the huge sum of money, instead choosing to stay in LA to trick or treat with his kids.

Lindsay Shops For Jewelry but Won't Design It

Lindsay Lohan treated herself to a little shopping last night as she stopped by a jewelry store in LA. She might have been celebrating some good news, after revealing on Twitter that she's working on writing and producing a new TV project. One thing LL won't be doing anytime soon is designing jewelry with party pal Pascal Mouawad - he made a recent statement that rumors of their collaborating are thus far, not true. Any disappointment Lindsay may have over that deal falling through doesn't seem to be slowing her down, as she spent Tuesday night out at Teddy's with Samantha and the New Moon kids.
