Natalie Brings Boleyn Girl and Boob Talk

Natalie Portman took the promotional reigns without Scarlett Johansson at a screening of The Other Boleyn Girl in NYC last night. She looked gorgeous, of course, but not as happy as with her on-screen sister by her side. On Sunday Natalie was profiled in The Times of London, which as usual made her seem nothing short of perfect. Though, she did reveal a bit of a sassy side talking about Isaac Mizrahi grabbing Scarlett's breast at the 2006 Golden Globes, "Seriously, I would want to grab them. She’s got beautiful ones, but, Isaac, that was not so appropriate." She also weighed in on another of her contemporaries, Miss Britney Spears. Natalie said:

“We both had the same first job. We both understudied for an off-Broadway musical called Ruthless. I never met her, but I took over from her when she left to join the Mickey Mouse Club. So we connected over that. She invited me to a few things and my guy friends at college said, ‘We have to go.’ I’m sad to see how everyone’s treating her now...Any time I see something about Britney, I close it. I can’t look at it. I’m usually interested in gossip, but this makes my stomach hurt.”

Britney and Natalie seem like night and day in the starlet set, but of course Natalie has compassion for the fallen pop star. I'm mostly surprised that she'd even admit that she's ever into gossip at all. Maybe working on the soap opera-y period piece piqued Natalie's interest in the salacious rumor mill - not that I don't relate, wink.

Scarlett and Natalie at Another Other Boleyn Girl Premiere

If Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman are sick of parading down the red carpet in pretty dresses to promote The Other Boleyn Girl, they're not showing any signs of fatigue. Both the actresses looked beautiful in their gowns at the London premiere of their movie today. Though, still always a little surprised to see that bright tattoo on Scarlett's arm. Lucky Eric Bana was yet again there with a gorgeous lady on either arm. While you guys overwhelmingly prefer Natalie, there's no doubt that they're both stunning. I wonder if Scarlett and Natalie talk to each other beforehand to coordinate their premiere outfits? You wouldn't want to clash with your friend/costar after all.

Scarlett and Natalie Go Sheer and Shiny For Their Big Premiere

Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman slipped into a couple of sexy numbers for the red carpet premiere of The Other Boleyn Girl at the Berlinale Film Festival today. Scarlett wore a more simple dress to balance her teased hair and dramatic eyeliner, while Natalie made it very clear that she's not the prude good girl she often gets pegged for. Once again, the girls talked about how well they got along on the set and how much they respect one another. Natalie said, "People keep asking if the rivalry was real but it was the opposite because we just liked each other so much. It was such a rare opportunity to work with an actress my age who I much admire."

Scarlett, Natalie, and Eric Love Each Other

Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman were finally joined by their handsome costar Eric Bana for a Berlinale Film Festival photocall before their premiere of The Other Boleyn Girl today. With all three hot young actors working together, of course there have to be rumors that they didn't get along, but Bana was quick to shoot down any whispering. He said, "I hate to break it to you but actors really do love each other. It's a crazy job and we put ourselves in vulnerable positions. I don't care if it sounds corny but it's true: you're part of a brotherhood, and protect each other. And they indeed do get along really well." While Natalie and Scarlett are so often pegged as total opposites, sometimes that's exactly what you need from a friend.

Scarlett & Natalie Hide Excitement About Being Boleyn Girls

From magazine covers to morning talk shows, Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson are in the promotional game together showing off their new movie The Other Boleyn Girl. They stopped by The Today Show this morning in matching tights and bouncy hair to talk in a very subdued way about the film. Seriously, be a little more excited girls! In the interview the girls talk about the movie (obviously) as well as the book it's based on (it's not too late to join Buzz's book club) and how much they loved working together. Really though, I would have liked to see them having a little more fun? Maybe next interview.

Natalie Portman Is Smart and Mushy

In between promoting The Other Boleyn Girl all around the world, Natalie Portman found time to pose for another stunning photoshoot, this time for the April Marie Claire UK. With all Natalie's acting success it can be easy to forget she has a Harvard degree to go with that pretty face. When asked about it, she said, "I can be pretentious and talk about books for hours, but I’m not hyper-intellectual or anything. I mean, I like to read, but lots of people do. I’m not the hard, brainy girl at all. I’m really mushy. [Laughs.] I’m much more mush, I think, than anything else!" While Natalie should never be ashamed of being smart, it's nice to know she loves her soft side too. Natalie and Scarlett Get Sexy and Sisterly For W Magazine

Two of Hollywood's most respected starlets, Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman, got all vamped up for the March issue of W magazine. Natalie looks as gorgeous as ever in the spread, while sexy Scarlett's makeup is making her look way too intense. We can expect to see a lot more of these two beautiful actresses as they make their way around the world promoting The Other Boleyn Girl, starting with the Berlinale Film Festival this weekend. Scarlett and Natalie play sisters in the movie, and their close friendship comes through in the article where they talk about their relationship, their views on politics, and how they've been portrayed in the media. Here are highlights:

Scarlett on choosing do to the film: "Natalie was already attached when I read the script. And I was desperate to work with her. She was the most attractive aspect of the project to me from the beginning."
On how their different personalities make for a good friendship:
Scarlett: "Natalie would be uncomfortable in her costume and not say anything. She’d tell me, ‘My rib is killing me.’ I’d be like, ‘Natalie, why don’t you say something?’ I’d have to be like, ‘Hellooo, someone, Natalie’s rib is hurting! Can you fix her zipper?’”
Natalie: "I know, my avoidance is a bit much. As an actor, you have to respect your position and know that you are fulfilling someone else’s vision,” she says. “Mike Nichols always quotes Mamet’s line: ‘Film is a collaborative business: bend over.’”

On how they are perceived by the media:
Natalie: "I get branded a lot as a good girl. I’m, like, the prude, and you’re more sexy, more like…”
Scarlett: "A harlot!"

Scarlett: “I’ve been battered for saying that I don’t believe humans are monogamous by nature. The response was, like, ‘What a ho-bag!’ I didn’t mean that I don’t practice monogamy in my own life - of course I do! I’m not going to be in some tarty relationship. But I stick by what I said. I remember another time, I said I get tested for AIDS twice a year, and again that got spun as me being promiscuous. But I was single at the time, and I think it’s important to do that!”
Natalie: “That’s totally responsible. A great role-model thing to talk about.”

Natalie: “The only thing that’s a little bit annoying, is I feel that I come off kind of boring sometimes.”
Scarlett: "I don’t think you’re boring."
Natalie: “Thank you. I appreciate that.”

Normally when two powerhouse starlets their age work together we hear stories of catfights and competitiveness, but it seems like Natalie and Scarlett bonded and developed a great friendship despite their differences in personality. They sound like a couple of close girlfriends just having a good time, and we can't wait to see how that translates to the big screen in their period piece.

Scarlett Cozies Up With Bowie

While Scarlett Johansson's arrival in Berlin this morning implies that she won't be spending Valentine's Day with her boyfriend Ryan Reynolds, she was keeping one of the men in her life - "fiancé" Barack Obama - close to her heart. She's in town to premiere The Other Boleyn Girl at the Berlin Film Festival, but it's her other big Spring release that has everyone talking. More details are emerging about her impending album release - this time that her collaborators include David Bowie. While I'm still skeptical about the collection of Tom Waits covers as a whole, I'll be the first to admit that's a pretty kick-ass duet to nab. Who knows, maybe the album will be way more legit and awesome than I give her credit for.

Natalie's Film Isn't As Good As Some Others

After a very busy few weeks of promoting The Other Boleyn Girl all over the world, Natalie finally found some time to catch up with a friend back in NYC over the weekend. It's always fun to see her all dressed up for the red carpet, but we love Natalie's casual style too. Unfortunately, after all her hard work, her film wasn't a favorite with the critics and only came in 4th at the box office for its opening weekend.

Natalie Portman Talks Etiquette and Horseback Riding

Natalie Portman is still rolling solo out promoting The Other Boleyn Girl. Seriously, what did Scarlett do to get out of this leg of the tour? Nat stopped by Letterman last night to talk about horseback riding and how hard it was to go to the bathroom when she was in costume - good times, check out the video after the jump. Even more exciting, however, is that my overseas counterpart PopSugar UK got to see Natalie, Scarlett and Eric Bana in person and quiz them a little about the movie.
