Gwen and Akon Dumped By Verizon

Verizon has pulled its sponsorship of Gwen's Sweet Escape Tour as a result of the disturbing video of Akon (her opening act) simulating sex on-stage with a girl who turned out to be only 15-years-old. The video made its way around the internet and his actions were so disturbing that it's no shock that there are professional repercussions.

Gwen's manager, Jim Guerinot, however, had this to say: "Akon has been a perfect gentleman on this tour. His show has at best been a PG show. Children of all ages have been attending. We have had no complaints -- nothing but satisfied people. And I would say that we're shocked that Verizon would drop Gwen Stefani as part of this whole debate."

Even so, losing the tour's main sponsor must be rough. Maybe it's time for Gwen to look into finding herself another opening act.

Get Ready For A Sweet Escape

Gwen took little Kingston along to the NRJ Music Awards. This kid has got so much exposure to the industry he'll probably be producing music before he's out of diapers. Looks like he's about to get some more experience too. Mommy Gwen is gearing up for her North American tour which kicks off in San Diego on April 22nd. Akon and Lady Sovereign will also be performing. Tickets go on sale Feb. 10th. Check out the list of tour dates for Gwen's Sweet Escape here!

Why is Gwen crying in this artwork for her new album, The Sweet Escape? Do you think it's because she lost to Nelly Furtado for World's Best Pop/Rock Artist at the WMAs last night? Doubt it. She didn't even go so she couldn't have cared that much. And it's a good thing too because the show evidently wasn't that good!

Smell Gwen's Sweet Escape

Gwen is a super busy working mom. Monday night she rocked The Billboard Awards with Wind It Up which happened to be the night before her new album, The Sweet Escape, was released. Then yesterday it was announced that she'll be working with Coty to create fragrances for her fashion line LAMB. Gwen sure has accomplished an insane amount in just a year by going on tour, having baby Kingston, debuting at Fashion Week and now dropping a new album.

She did admit to using some leftover songs which makes me feel better that she didn't actually do everything from scratch. Besides, we bet her fans won't be complaining! Gwen and gorgeous Gavin toured Paris with baby Kingston this weekend. The adorable family seems to be enjoying their vacation and documenting each stop along the way. They're gathering lots of new pictures for their family album, which include Kingston leading the way in the park, and carousel rides with mom. The city of Love must have gotten the best of Gavin and Gwen as they were caught making out in between sight-seeing. Talk about a Sweet Escape!

Hey there, Kingston, it's been too long! The littlest rock star and his parents enjoyed a sunny Sunday afternoon in Sydney on a break from mommy's Sweet Escape tour. They're all three looking pretty blonde these days -- even hot Gavin has been dipping into his wife's platinum hair dye. If Violet's going to be the healthiest kid in Hollywood, it's no question that Kingston is going to be the most stylish. I wonder how soon after he can make a full sentence he'll be asking to change up his hair color, too.

Jessica Really Appeals to the Teens

Apparently Jessica and Cash didn't have time to take advantage of being in Paris after Eva and Tony's wedding, because the two were at the airport on their way out yesterday morning. And don't they just look thrilled as usual (though I'm loving her coat)? Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer may have been a bit overshadowed by the other Summer blockbusters, but the Teen Choice Awards committee took notice and nominated Jessica for 3 awards: Hissy Fit, Female Hottie, Action Adventure Actress. The show isn't until the end of August, but you can vote here. Mark my words, teens love Jessica, but she may have to lose to Seacrest in the Hissy Fit category.

Paris Gets Real with Larry King

Paris began her reinvention tour with her first TV appearance on Larry King Live. While she obviously touched up her roots, she did drop her fake blue contacts and girlie baby voice for a more grown up version of herself in hopes that she will be taken more seriously. She also dressed the part, looking fab in her BCBG dress and Louboutin pumps. On the show Paris read her journal entries and made the following statements:

I felt like this is a new beginning for me, to see jail -- and I just used it as a journey to figure out myself and who I am and what I want to do. And there's just so much more to me than what people think.
... it was a very traumatic experience, but I feel like God does make everything happen for a reason. And it gave me, you know, a time-out in life to really find out what's important and what I want to do, figuring out who I am. And I'm -- even though it was really hard, I took that time just to get to know myself.
Well, a misconception that I always hear is Paris doesn't work for a living. She just, you know, gets money from her family. And I completely disagree with that. I've been earning (ph) on my own, by myself. I've not taken any money from my family. I work very hard. I run a business. I had a book on the "New York Times" best seller list. I'm on my -- TV show. Did an album. Do movies.

Ah, the NY Times bestseller. How did we forget that one? Other highlights of the interview include her disgust for prison food, admitting to having ADD (don't we all?), and claims she does NOT do drugs. Is she kidding? We've all seen the many pics and videos of her doing otherwise. She also had a few nice things to say about BFF Nicole and Britney, calling her a "sweet girl" and a "good mom." When Larry brought up Lindsay Lohan you could tell she was not friends with her. In fact, when asked about having friends in rehab, she said, "I don't have any friends in rehab." Lets hope Paris has changed since we'd rather write about her doing some good instead of just walking another red carpet because one thing's for sure - love her or hate her - she's a phenomenon and you can't seem to escape Paris Hilton - even when she's in jail for 3 weeks.

Cam Enjoys Down Under While Angel Plans Next Escape

Cameron took advantage of her time down under at the Australian premiere of Shrek to enjoy the area's sites, including a stop off at Bondi Icebergs Restaurant. Meanwhile, back on the homefront her maybe-paramour, Criss Angel Mindfreak, is happy to talk about how much he enjoys his new buddy. According to People, Angel says "Cam is an amazing person. I'm so honored to be able to call her my friend." Pretty sweet words, but I wonder how she feels about Criss' newly announced stunt. The ~~Magician~~ Illusionist will be hoisted 40 feet above Times Square in a glass case filled 3 feet with cement. He will have 24 hours to free himself before the whole thing comes crashing down. I wonder if she'll be there cheering on his escape?
