Kate, 31, said to be more believable as a "plainer" girl from a small town in Texas, she stopped working out and gained "a little" weight for the role. The actress says that she is most confident when dancing, something we totally understand. Not only is it a fun confident booster, dancing is a great workout, too.

Kate Hudson Avoids a Wardrobe Malfunction With New Mom Amanda Peet at Tribeca!

Kate Hudson took last night off from working on Something Borrowed to attend the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of her thriller The Killer Inside Me. She joined costars Jessica Alba and Casey Affleck, who brought his wife, Summer Phoenix. Jess was arm in arm with her own spouse Cash Warren, and was decked out in a boho-chic look for her evening off from serving as one of the festival's jurors. Abbie Cornish also made it out for her latest Tribeca event. Kate picked a black Louis Vuitton dress for the occasion, though her and Jess's characters in the movie wore vintage pieces from the '50s.

Kate's LBD almost encountered a major problem when a gust of wind rolled through and she risked a Marilyn Monroe moment, but Jessica was there to save the day. Meanwhile, the cast of Please Give headed out for their own press call. Catherine Keener, Oliver Platt, and Rebecca Hall joined new mom Amanda Peet - she and her husband David Benioff welcomed their second daughter, Molly, just eight days ago! On her baby's arrival, Amanda said, "So far, so good! She's great. I'm in love with her!"

One of the upsides to filming The Killer Inside Me for Jessica Alba (in Chloe) and Kate Hudson (in Louis Vuitton)? The vintage ’50s wardrobe.

“I love vintage, so it was really amazing,” Alba told us at the film’s Tribeca Film Festival premiere. “But I’m glad we’ve moved on from those corset and itchy fabrics and everything!” For Hudson, the flashback fashion took some getting used to at first. “It’s so not me! I’m not used to the A-line. The whole ’50s look is new to me,” she said. “I feel like I was mainly in slips though. The bras are what I found interesting because they were cone bras! I got into it though, it was fun!”

Hudson might even be a retro fashion convert: “The was this [rose dress] that I really loved.” Click on the gallery to get a sneak peek at the actresses in costume on set.

Kate Hudson Keeps Her Front Row Seat Warm

Kate Hudson got into character with Casey Affleck on the Oklahoma set of The Killer Inside Me last week before heading back to NYC. On Saturday Ryder joined his mom to cheer on Alex Rodriguez at Yankee Stadium, though he seemed more interested in his trucks than in watching his mom's new boyfriend. Ryder's grandma isn't a big fan of Alex either - apparently Goldie Hawn is worried that Kate's going to get her heart broken again. Kate and Alex were spotted out clubbing together last night, so it looks like Kate will be making her own decisions about her love life for now.

Kate Gets a Killer New Hairstyle

Kate Hudson was almost unrecognizable with her new dark hair on the set of The Killer Inside Me in Oklahoma City yesterday. The movie also stars Casey Affleck and Jessica Alba, but this is the first we've seen of the film. Kate's been mixing things up from her typical romantic comedy fare with this film and Nine, and we're looking forward to getting another taste of the Oscar-nominated actress we fell in love with during her Almost Famous days.

At long last (and after major hype), Britney Spears's Femme Fatale is out! Naturally, we took the pop princess's clubbiest album yet to the gym to find out what songs work during which parts of your workout.

"Till The World Ends"

It takes a solid minute for this Ke$ha-penned track to really get going, so use that time for some aerobic stretches to warm up your muscles. Try this: Stand with feet wider than hip-width apart, knees soft. Keeping hips stable, reach left arm overhead to right, and right arm across torso to left. Then reach right arm overhead to left, and left arm across to right. Next, bend forward from hips so torso is parallel to floor; repeat arm reaches. Then fold body completely forward and reach arms to front. Do sequence 20 times. To up your heart rate, add in jumping jacks or jump rope (you don't actually need a rope, just go through the motions!) for the next minute.

Hanna: A Little Off the Mark

Too often in movies, we're presented with strong female characters that can throw punches and scale walls with ease, but they're so done up that it's hard to take them seriously as heroines. But Hanna (Saoirse Ronan) is the real deal. At only sixteen, she avoids those femme fatale stereotypes and solely focuses on one thing: kicking ass.

In Hanna, Ronan reteams with her Atonement director Joe Wright for the dark story of a girl raised as an assassin by her ex-CIA father (Eric Bana). They've lived in hiding together so he can protect his daughter from an enemy from his past, intelligence agent Marissa Weigler (Cate Blanchett). But when Hanna very proactively reveals their location, Marissa launches into pursuit to track Hanna in a large-scale chase across Europe.

read more. Even though Hanna is an expert at killing, she lacks basic social skills. The entirety of her knowledge of the outside comes from an encyclopedia in her father's cabin, so she often speaks by spouting off statistics. When she enters the unknown world and goes on the run, she's seeing most things for the first time. Even girls her own age are an oddity, as she befriends a particularly girly, boy-obsessed British teen and her family. But the moments where Hanna can dabble in normal adolescent behavior are fleeting, as there's always someone on her trail. This is a departure for Wright who's been previously known for Atonement and Pride and Prejudice, and his foray into action is hit or miss. While the fight scenes are exciting, the combination of his camera shots and thumping European electro music (courtesy of The Chemical Brothers) can make you feel like you're inside a strobe light. Wright also tries to play up the fairytale-like qualities in the film, from the premise of a girl living in the woods to the evil-to-the-core villain. It enhances the movie's creepy factor; however, in the case of Marissa, it also makes the characters one-dimensional. Hanna, however, is far from being stereotypical. She's incredibly unusual, and as played by Ronan, fascinating to watch. Ronan easily transitions between the childlike innocence and cold-blooded killer mentality needed for the role. But Hanna is often disconnected from others; even when she's upset, she still seems stoic. That lack of emotion is what makes her tick, but it also prevented me from getting more wrapped up in the movie. While Hanna may be an ace at hand-to-hand combat, I wish the film packed a little more emotional punch.

The Pros and Cons of Google+

Google revealed Google+ to the world last week, and the new social network quickly became the talk of the Internet. Though most agree that it's not yet a Facebook killer, there are some interesting and noteworthy features included within its white walls. We've been getting to know the pros and cons of Google+ more intimately over the long holiday weekend, so check out our rundown below and don't forget to add your thoughts in the comments!

Pros

Sleek design - Google+ is super easy to navigate thanks to a simple design. Sure, it kinda resembles Facebook with its main news stream and sidebars of information, and it would be cool to customize what you see with Google+ themes, but as is, it's very easy on the eyes.
Drag and drop in Circles - Adding friends and contacts into different Circles is incredibly easy thanks to the drag and drop nature of the feature, and we love how easy it is to share updates and news with just one group of Circles, or all of them.
Huddle - Group texting goes Google with the mobile Huddle feature that lets you message with a Circle of friends, or just a few. If you're not mobile with Google+, you can still use GroupMe and get the same feel.
Integration with +1 - There's finally a reason to +1 things since it not only acts as a bookmarking feature, but allows friends and Circles to see things you like from around the web (under the Buzz tab).
Sparks - Sparks isn't a RSS feed, but it does grab news stories, blog posts, and articles from around the Internet on subjects you're interested in. As I use my Google Reader mainly for work reasons, now I can use Sparks to catch up on my interests during my downtime.
Auto uploads for photos and videos - All of your photos and videos captured on the Google + mobile app are automatically uploaded and stored in your account. Good news is you can customize your settings to choose when and who to share them with at a later time. Auto uploading sounds scary, but Google has made it easy to customize the mobile settings.
The quick share box - When you're inside Google+ or other Google properties (like Picasa, Reader, Gmail, and Documents), you can quickly share info or a link with your Circles by clicking on the "Share. . ." box on the upper-right hand corner of your browser.
No game requests! - A simple joy of using Google+ is the absence of Farmville requests showing up in my inbox and news stream. I'll take that for as long as I can get it.
